  1. Yeah, that's it! Holds roughly 2000 fans. Similar in size to Orangefield's visitors side. WO-S fans (for those that travel to Brookshire, TX) will be packed in pretty tight!
  2. [Hidden Content] BACK TO WORK! Coach "T" will have his D ready to go to work Friday night!
  3. 'Stangs get it rollin' this week. The 'Stangs will benefit from the additional prep-work from a quality opponent like Royal before the district opener. WO-S by 2 TD's.
  4. That's the kind of poor play that HAS to stop! The 3 or 4 penalties to start the game with...are inexcusable. The HARD snaps to the QB, and over the head snaps are starting to becoming tooooo repetitive. The dropped passes are carrying over from last season, and should have been solved by now. Is it those darn gloves or what??? Come on fellows, let's get a handle on this stuff! Love ya "Stangs... let's get it together and fast! ;D
  5. Wow...simply wow. I'm not really sure what to say or feel about what I witnessed tonight and even the past 2 + weeks! Gotta coach 'em up Hooks! WO-S has wayyyy tooo much talent to play like this! I'm at a loss for words here tonight. :-\ Gotta hand it Jasper, you guys played inspired football tonight, and deserved to win. On the flip side, I'd rather feel the agony of defeat in a non-district game, than in round three of the playoffs...again! Let's go 'Stangs!
  6. Analyze the stats, and other in-game details...but the fact remains---regardless of who you play, where you play, when you play...underclassmen vs. upperclassmen (1,3,5 or all 11 starters with or without varsity experience)---a win, is a win, is a win. Win by 1 or 100; chalk it up as a WIN baby! Players and coaches alike have their moments, heck we all do in our daily, non-sporting lives! You either flat as a board or you're on your game full-throttle! Rest assured Mustang fans, the 2009 Mustangs will not play as poorly (offensively) as they played this past week. No disrespect to the other ball-clubs the 'Stangs have played and yet to have played...they WILL show up as a complete TEAM from here on out...done!
  7. WO-S wins regardless. Even with the threat of rain, the 'Stangs have e toooooo many horses in the stable for K-ville to contain. Hooks and company treat every week like it's a playoff game. Best of luck to both squads. Will be there rain or shine! 8)
  8. LC-M might score a TD, but that'll do it for the bears. IF a TD is allowed by the "Chain-Gang" Coach T. will make the necessary adjustments quickly. WO-S 46 vs. LC-M 7.

  10. I agree...Could get ugly fast. WO-S by however many points they want. That offense has to many weapons and once again, a defense that gave up less than 180 yards to a pretty stout Nederalnd offense.
  11. HOUSTON DAVIS @ SILSBEE Missed a pick! Sorry about that Tigers.
  12. Since scrimmaging Vidor on Thursday and practicing Friday, the kids have the weekend off to rest and heal some of those bumps and bruises. They'll be ready come Monday to practice hard all week and finalize their preporation for week 0 against Nederland. There will be some growing-pains and nagging little injuries throughout the non-district schedule, but come week 1 of district, this group of Mustangs will be battle tested and ready for another district title run!

  14. The assessment by all here is correct. That's exactly what game-type scrimmages are for etc. To see who's who, and test out some some "On the Fence" Varsity/JV players, which I believe there were at least 5-players that are questionable for either squad. Excellent showing by both squads. WO-S has M A N Y talented kids, and the coaches will ultimately find the right combination that works by week-0 and most importantly, the start of district play. As mentioned previously... It's gonna be an exciting season in Mustangland. ;D
  15. This is one of the largest O-lines the 'Stangs have had since their days in 4A, moreover, their championship days. They will be "Ok" as Hooks said confidently. ;D
  16. Great comment by Coach Hooks regarding the senior leadership showing after just day-1.
  17. What did I tell ya COOP about the WO-S O-line? Much bigger and better technique. Should be a much improved group overall to help protect Reggie and Co. This group of ‘Stangs are mentally and physically ready to play today! I’ve said it already before, this will be a fun football season in Mustang-land.
  18. Does Vidor have a kicker? If so...Vidor 34 vs. Kelly 14. I predict a decent 1st half, and then Vidor opens things up in the 2nd half. Those big ole’ lineman for Vidor will take control late.
  19. Great read! Trey and the rest of the 2009 'Stangs will be a lot of fun to watch!
  20. Kerry and Trey Franks practice a handoff with a turkey leg Saturday at the MacArthur Shopping Center. The Franks family and friends are selling the legs to raise money for Trey's trip to North Carolina July 31 where he will run in the National Junior Olympics after winning his regional meet in both the 100 and 200. LCM sophomore Hayden Reed also qualified with third place finishes in the shot and discus. Visit www.kogt.com for full story and picture. ;D
  21. WO-S's James Haynes received a certificate from Governor Rick Perry Wednesday in Austin at the Capital at State Champions Day. All spring sports and academic state champions were invited to attend, however, Haynes was the only Mustang who could make the trip. Haynes was the anchor leg on the 4x100 team made up of Trey Franks, Philip Jones and Josh Gloston. Haynes was joined by head track coach Toby Foreman, principal Paul Hardin and Superintendent O. Taylor Collins, along with WO-S Journalism teacher Meri Elen Jacobs and fellow classmate Shonnalee Jacobs and several other supporters. [Hidden Content]
  22. As per Dave Campbell's - Texas Football Magazine, the game my family and I will NOT miss in '09 is...The 3A Div. II State Championship game, West Orange-Stark vs. Celina. Sometimes you just gotta put it all out there, to realize the dream!
  23. I look for a similar outcome to the 2008 game at Bulldog Stadium. The 'Stangs return a ton of talent along with their coaching staff. Might be a close one through the 1st half, but my prediction is: WO-S 35 vs. Nederland 12.
