1. This one will be over early unless PAM turns the ball over. The Titans score as much as they want and the Deer score not very much...
 2. If WB's offense can make first downs and keep the defense off the field, I think the Bruins will have a shot to win. I think this game will be closer than most people believe.
 3. Nederland Ozen Vidor Central Unless one of these teams gets the injury bug, they're clearly the better teams in this district.
 4.
This was a very funny topic. Now on to the facts. Because that's what I deal in. While the kids coming out of King MS were good the best one actually went to Ozen and it wasn't Nigel. I'll let that sit on your brain cells for a minute. I watched King play all last year and Nigel is a wonderful kid,but he is not varsity ready nor is anybody off that team. Ozen did end up getting Josh Boyd. Now some of you will say he didn't play yeah I know but he was the BEST PLAYER at King PERIOD. The kid will end up being at least 6'5 or 6'6 when it's all said and done. And he plays defense like no other and score at will. He doesn't get the hype that Nigel gets because he didn't play a lot of summer ball but if Central puts those kids on varsity they'll be sitting ducks trust me.
Boyd is ridiculously athletic. He's a two sport star. He's actually a better football player than he is a basketball player. And no, he is not better than Pearson. Both have bright futures. And Ozen and Central will both be really good.
 5. I just want to see the Bruins improve on tackling and stay in rhythm on offense. If we do that we'll be ok.
 6.

I didn't witness it but anybody that can throw for over 400 yards on a 5A defense, has my vote.  Ozens QB.
Amen! That's gotta be an Ozen record. Also have to consider J. Jones from Ozen too, bc he was responsible for almost half of those yards. Were these screen passes? Missed tackles? Just wondering if Jones created a lot of these yards by making WB's D miss? 415 yards on 17 completions tells me there were a lot of big plays.
Screens and short passes that their WRs took to the house. Mostly on 3rd and longs I might add. They ate us up with their speed and big plays. Caught us in a couple jail break blitzes also.
 7. Stump comes is DAL in district! All track and field people know what that acronym stands for.
 8.
If you looked at the numbers on West Brooks sidelines you will know what he was talking about the vote.  Stopping transfers has hurt the Brooks numbers and it is evident with the amount of kids on varsity at a 5A level.  There numbers are just now getting back up.  Ozen won and congrats to them.  But, all of you Stump haters from the past who have not been on here yet because you cant come on here and say "I told you so", everyone knows Stump would not have allowed what happened last night to happen.  Ozen could not beat him.  He finds ways to when!  And if you think he won't do that at Atascocita your crazy.  It may take a year or 2, but he will win.  Too good of a coach not to.  Stump haters, you got what you wished for.  So sit back and watch.  Gonna be a long year.
If Stump and his under achieving staff would have coach last night Ozen would have blown WB away! Ozen's speed beat us last night. They beat us with the big play. All their scores except two were on 3 and long. Hell they converted 3 4th and 10s on the game winning drive. Congrats Panthers on the win. You guys made more plays than we did. As for WB, we will be fine. I'm excited about what this team will do when they really get the new systems down.
 9.
As I often tell my co-workers from MC, especially those from PN-G, they can't see past Nall Ave.  Midcounty sadness is the greatest rivalry since Cain vs. Able(allegedly) and there's no arguing the point
In the early 90s the Beaumont Bowl would sell out Lamar and have the hill full of fans. I don't recall even seeing one MCM highlight back then. I'm not saying their teams weren't good, but they weren't getting nearly the pub they get now! I think it has a lot to do with midcounty grads getting jobs in the local media but, that's just my opinion.
 10.

The offense is a no huddle spread attack that uses pace to keep defenses off balanced. The defense is attacking and a welcomed change from the sit back and lose scheme previously employed. I believe this is going to be a much better coached team on both sides of the ball, regardless of wins and losses.
Better than Stump and Company?? Find that hard to believe.
Actually coach Stump under achieved at West Brook! He out talented teams. For all the talent that passed through under his watch, he won 1 district title and never made it pass the third round of the playoffs.
 11. Most delusional fan goes to: Mr. Buddy Garrity aka Scooter aka Mr. I'll keep switching teams to make sure I'm a fan of a winning team.

I really like the atmosphere KRH has created. The kids believe in what they are doing and giving maximum effort. Success breeds success!!! Good Luck and Go Titans.
So he's no longer Xbox Kenny to you? Lol He's our secret weapon, the strong senior class hid his flaws. It will be business as usual this year. The Bruins are taking y'all down!
1. Apparently WB was NOT go enough to expose those so called "flaws" and get the W! 2. You'll need more than Clack and Spearman!
Let's see: 1. You guys had a great team and you won the game. You all should send Lil Stump a thank you card for those turnovers in the red zone. 2. We will be just fine and Clack and Spearman is more than enough to deal with that awesome defense you guys play! Lmbo More crying from the Crytans this year!!!  West Brook will put Memorial back in its proper place!

This is going to be the 3rd straight beatdown Central has received in a Week Zero matchup.
Maybe it can be a Marquee Beatdown.
maybe so. im growing a bit tired of Memorial even playing Central and Ozen. Time to start playing some high caliber East Tx competition again IMO.
I agree,...Bring back Teams like Lufkin Panthers
Do you want Houston Lamar back on the scheduled as well?  What happened those times when you played them?
Yep, one season and they're all of a sudden world beaters! I have respect for bigD and SFA, they were reping Memorial when they weren't winning. While scooter was holding up Lufkin, Abilene, and two or three schools other than Port Arthur! Dude is a joke and a chump!

Oooops, that's a Longview thing, Weak Brooke just brings out the 3 things in bold. My bad.  ::) ;)
Sounds like someone is mad cause the poor butt texas memorial crytan fans are as fickle as the team and only supports them once every 8 years when they win!

The Bruins will do what they always do to poor a$$ texas, beat them! The Crytans take their normal place behind West Brook.
 18. Poor Memorial, trying so hard to be accepted, but still the school at the bottom! *edit* *no cursing*

There is a school board that had its role in creating quite a bit of that as well. And I know that Dr. Thomas' tenure will be scarred by a number of controversies (Calvin Walker, transportation department issues, hotelgate, etc).  But as he retires, I don't know that you can say that the Beaumont ISD is in dire shape.  Academically, the district has reached the status as high as exemplary and in fact this past school did enough to do that but for the unacceptable status of a single middle school.  Financially, despite the numerous scandels in which BISD was apparently overcharged, BISD budgetary wise is still in a lot better shape than many of its neighboring school districts. And finally, in the area of athletics while some of the hoped for goals have not been reached, the athletic department is anything but a disaster.  The teams regularly reach the playoffs and in some cases have progressed far.  It has ushered in a new stadium that is in demand for use not only for BISD district games, but playoff games as well and, in fact, was a coin flip away from being host to a regional final game this past season.  Further, that stadium is used by a neighboring district as part of its season opening soccer tournament.  In a time where some districts have been the target of TEA receiverships, layoffs, unacceptable status and being unable to guide through bond issues to upgrade facilities, there are some of us that are quite envious of the state BISD is in now.
What a great post! And no one from Vidor has room to say anything about BISD with the shape their district is in.
Well there budget should be in even better shape now that they got rid of his salary  ;) And please tell me what kind of shape Vidor is in Yeoj.
Forced retirements, lay offs, unrenewed contracts, and TEA coming in to reorganize Vidor's budget so they could actually operate financially. Maybe VISD should have asked Dr. Thomas to donate his raise to their budget. Lmbo  :D  What is that saying about people who live in glass houses that throw stones?
