Just as Mumford reached State, within the rules. I don't see a huge difference in either programs. yes, AAA has a larger coverage. But YES Prep out of Houston and many other inner city charter schools have the same area coverage and CAN'T COMPETE at a high level.
Those who, as you say, can't compete" probably cannot because they adhere to the rules and did not organize for the sake of basketball proficiency.
Within the boundaries of staying within the rules, both Mumford and AAA are similar.  ;)
Dove- Do you have any idea why people booed when Triple A got their trophy?
Sure I do!! Lack of knowledge!! Thinking their "morals" are better than others. From that old Temptation song...goes something like.... "If you're living in a glasshouse...... don't throw no stones." Okay, lets simplify for some of yall and ask this question: What are the differences in the two schools? Just the facts please!!!
This is easy From both schools website I did not see anything in Mumfords policies about participate in collegiate sports; junior college, NAIA or NCAA Division athletics From Triple AAA Academy--- Triple A Academy is a high school division/campus of FOCUS Academies that provides academic and athletic development for the student that desires to participate in collegiate sports; junior college, NAIA or NCAA Divisions Mumford ISD The mission of the Texas public education system is to ensure that all Texas children have access to a quality education that enables them to achieve their full potential and fully participate now and in the future in the social, economic, and educational opportunities in our state and nation.  That mission is grounded on the conviction that a general diffusion of knowledge is essential for the welfare of Texas and for the preservation of the liberties and rights of Texas citizens.  It is further grounded on the conviction that a successful public education system is directly related to a strong, dedicated, and supportive family and that parental involvement in the school is essential for the maximum educational achievement of a child.  The objectives of public education are: OBJECTIVE 1:  Parents will be full partners with educators in the education of their children. OBJECTIVE 2:  Students will be encouraged and challenged to meet their full educational potential. OBJECTIVE 3:  Through enhanced dropout prevention efforts, all students will remain in school until they obtain a diploma. OBJECTIVE 4:  A well-balanced and appropriate curriculum will be provided to all students. OBJECTIVE 5:  Educators will prepare students to be thoughtful, active citizens who have an appreciation for the basic values of our state and national heritage and who can understand and productively function in a free enterprise society. OBJECTIVE 6:  Qualified and highly effective personnel will be recruited, developed, and retained. OBJECTIVE 7:  Texas students will demonstrate exemplary performance in comparison to national and international standards. OBJECTIVE 8:  School campuses will maintain a safe and disciplined environment conducive to student learning. OBJECTIVE 9:  Educators will keep abreast of the development of creative and innovative techniques in instruction and administration using those techniques as appropriate to improve student learning. OBJECTIVE 10:  Technology will be implemented and used to increase the effectiveness of student learning, instructional management, staff development, and administration. The academic goals of public education are to serve as a foundation for a well-balanced and appropriate education.  The students in the public education system will demonstrate exemplary performance in: GOAL 1:  The reading and writing of the English language. GOAL 2:  The understanding of mathematics. GOAL 3:  The understanding of science. GOAL 4:  The understanding of social studies.
Old article from local paper.........."One of the burning question of the latter part of the school year was where former Milano basketball coach and shooting guru Alvie King was going to hold court this year. Well, King has made his decision and has moved over to nearby Class A Mumford and will become the school's very first baseball coach. This oil-rich high school on Farm Road 50 is trying to upgrade its athletic program and will begin a baseball program next season to accompany its successful basketball program of eight years. Superintendent Pete Bienski is sparing no expense in the construction of a sports complex which will include a baseball field, softball field and tennis courts. King will oversee the construction of the complex and the baseball field will be similar to LaGrange's, which is considered one of the best in the state. Mumford—whose enrollment has grown by 100 to 540 students in the past four years—was recently chosen one of the best high schools in America by U.S. News & World Report. King has never been a head baseball coach, but was an assistant at Milano and he will also assist Mumford basketball coach Chris Sodek, who was a protege of King's. King King said Mumford had such a wealth of basketball players in junior high this year that it was able to have its own summer league of four teams. Sodek had the Mustangs flying high again this past season, ranked No. 3 in the state and averaging 97 points a game. They knocked Milano out of the playoffs in the first round, 104-67, then were upset the next week by Normangee. Mumford lost just one starter so expect them to be atop the rankings come this season behind slick point guard Eric Corona and 6-foot-6 postman Luke Scarmado. Sodek's style of play fits right in with King, who also likes to push the ball up the court. King's teams at Milano set state records for shooting and making threes. This also means that Mumford will inherit King's son Aubrie, who is considered one of the top junior players in the state and will be in eighth grade this year. The 6-foot-2 King is also a top notch baseball player as well.
Still does not say anything about developing players for Juco, NAIA, and NCAA sports....Nice try ;D
;D

It's hard to start for WOS when he's on Ozen's football team.
Started maybe 5 games for Ozen then transfered to WOS for the rest of the season. Had to sit out 15 days while at that time coaches told him he wouldn't see the field unless he took someone's spot. The point is 6FBS DB's on one 3A team is amazing imo.
I heard he transferred a week before the Silsbee game. And he was a two year starter for Ozen.
Idk what the exact date was but he only played in one district game for Ozen Then on top of that he's from Orange we let Ozen borrow him.
He left Ozen after the LCM game. That's seven games including four district games. He started at Safety  as sophomore which is another thirteen games. That's twenty varsity games in an Ozen uniform. He played seventh and eighth grade football at Odom. Sounds like Beaumont nurtured his talent and is now letting Orange borrow him to me. Beaumont nurtured his talent lmao. Yeah ok. All Beaumont nurtures is BUST in college.  Kid didn't get a  offer till he came to WOS. Go check out rivals.com WOS is DBHS as far as all the scouts are concerned. He's from Orange Texas like I said we let Beaumont borrow him he came home and got his scholarship. He'll tell you out his own mouth where the real football players are. WOS

What's funny is you have said he didn't get on the field for WOS. So what footage are the Iowa State coaches using to judge his talent on? The footage from Beaumont Ozen. Congrats on the scholarship Chris.
They actually offered him off of our coaches good  word and his feetwork during our DB drills. Things like that happen when you have top talent every year. And no bust like Beaumont lol
I tend to believe they got in contact with Ozen coaches since he did actually see on field action there, not just DB drills at WO-S. If i may ask did he have any on field action in the playoffs for WO-S?
