1.
I bet Shipley won't come across the middle if Breed hits him like he did Taylor last night for Brownsboro....
Brother, you ain't kidding!  Not to mention the lick that Cucancic put on him the first time he ventured into the middle of the field.  Alligator Arms!
 2. Upon more thinking about the subject.... People said the same thing about Kirbyville the last 2 yrs in their run to state.  They were the favorites and lost in the title game.
 3.
Brownwood has more than Ship. You stop Ship then you have to watch the other 2 WRs, the QB and the RBs. Its really pick your poison. :D
The same can be said for the likes of Kville, Carthage, WOS, and several others in the playoffs.  Yes, Brownwood is very good but every team is beatable including them.
 4. Even though IP wasn't the biggest challenge for B-wood if they make it to the finals and don't trip up I highly doubt there is a team that can beat them.  That includes CS, WOS and Kville.  I know whoever they face in the finals will give them a good game but they are something else.  I see Carthage matching well with them in the semi's and possibly beating them.  Carthage has back to back titles and that says alot for experience.

 10.
Hardin county, which one are you referring to? I like the first good one and the one in the last few pics.
The first good one.
 11.
Hopefully my wife will get him.  He is a regular.  I added a few more pics.  Some that may be shooters? If they come out in enough light to see.  I wanted to pull the trigger this evening the deer was big,  just couldn't be sure.
you did the right thing not pulling the trigger.  One of the bucks in the pics looks pretty good.  I noticed the thick necks, dark tarsal glands, and fighting.  Where are you hunting because in Kville where I am they aren't quite to that point.
 12. FYI.... It can be discussed that Vanya was injured but no specifics as to what the injury was unless the site has permission by his family to do so. We have to protect the site from possible legal issues.
 13.
Well the late evening luck continues,  saw several deer evening including the 3 pt that I may need to cull.  The continuing part is I had another buck, this time at my wifes stand which is close to mine,  come out at about 10 minutes to 6.  It had horns that appeared to be wide enough to shoot but was too dark to tell anything else but the body of the deer was massive.  I had been watching the 3 pt, a spike and a doe at about 30 yards and this one made them look small and he was about 75-100 yards away.  Also saw a good buck chasing another deer through the brush.  I am going to try to put this link to some of my pics here,  including the 3 pt that I am still questioning and some others we are seeing.  These are hear in SE  Texas. [Hidden Content]
I say the 3pt needs a dirt nap. ;)
 14. Better yet...7PM in Lufkin tomorrow?
 15. What will be the biggest upset game this weekend?
 16.
Well, I didn't have them yet Todd, so I appreciate it!!!!
Sorry there bud, I didn't mean to forget about you. ;D  I've got things lined out as far as "my" copy of their stats and roster.  I also printed 2 3A DII brackets for each of us so we can get into that a little before the game and maybe during halftime.
 17. I was able to track his email down and get the stats yesterday.  Thanks for the help though!
 18.
I am not talking about winning obviously they are winning. Its about sloppy play by some once they take a lead. And as I have said sloppy, flat, bored, disinterested, whatever you want to call it play leads to bad habits. I agree that they blew through district play and it may be they are just playing at the comptition level that is in front of them. As someone else has said it may be like if a smart kid in a class is not challenged he gets bored. If all of those games were nothing but "practice" for the playoffs fine, but habits die hard. Some of the players go all four quarters no doubt about it but you can not watch them and say some don't slack off once their ahead. I want to see them play to their full potential. My opinion or anyone elses on this site wont change a coaches or players mind one bit. And if some think its OK to play loose once they are ahead thats fine. If we get a TD called back because of a penalty, muff a kick, drop a pass, give up a 1st down when its 40 to 0 no big deal. In a playoff game against a good team that will kill you. Just look at the two state games Kirbyville was as good if not better of a team than either Muleshoe or Pilot point. Mental mistakes cost them and they could not overcome it with just physical play. I am as proud of them for getting there as anyone. But as you get further into the playoffs it is not so much the faster, stronger team that wins its the team that executes without mistakes. If you have gotten by all year playing at 3/4 speed, pulling starters without a loss you are a great football team. I think the Cats are capable of being better than great! I appologize for speaking my mind so strongly but you will see one or two (ussually Breed and Tyler) trying to get the crowd and the players pumped up and back into the game. If they all kept that that attitude they would be an unstoppable team.
When you ahead by 30-40 pts at the half some games it is very hard to keep focus.  You may think it's not but everyone that I've ever talked to that played the game said the same thing about being ahead.  It happens to college and pro teams.  If the think not then turn the tv on andsee for yourself.  If you ask me Alvarez has turned them lose since the Jasper game.  As I suggested to you once.  Go let Alvarez know what he is doing wrong and what he needs to do to make the team play harder.  I am sure he would love to hear it! ::)
 19.
We should run on them all night, and we need the secondary to really step up in this one...cucancic and jacko ;)
The way I see it is it's like the Will Pt. game but a better team.  The offense needs to sustain long clock eating drives.  I wouldn't be surprised to see the passing game open up a bit more also against a weak secondary.  It's obvious they can't stop teams from scoring and even though they throw the ball very well the cards are in the Cats favor.  If they cannot run the ball they have no chance.  I don't care who you are...the run sets up the pass.  Our secondary is much better this yr than it has been in the time that Alvarez has been there.  Facing as many spread teams as the Cats have this yr will pay dividends in this game.
 20.
Both Fairfield and La Vega are big steps up compared to what Kirbyville has faced in 18-3A.  This will probably be the first game in a while where the Wildcats will be in big trouble if they don't bring the A-game.
You are right about that.  We all know each week deeper gets tougher opponent wise.
 21.
BB does not look like much of a running team. Breed and Tyler should keep their QB running for his life all night so you can expect Cucancic to pick off a few. Thank you Lefty
No problem. We can all see that they throw it pretty well and Owens is a good QB but what sticks out to me is the pts they give up a game.  A margin of victory of only 6 pts ain't going to cut it in the playoffs.  Their D is very weak and will be on the field all night.
 22. Undecieded at the moment.  You can search him on rivals.com and see the list of offers he has.  He's 6'1" 190-195lbs.
