What a game!  Hate to see the Wildcats season end but it just wasn't their night.  Congrats to Coldspring and Coach Barbay and a great win and great 2nd half.  The made the plays they needed to and executed perfectly.   To the Wildcat team there is nothing to hang you head about.  You made many strides this season as a very small 3A and not many can claim that kind of season.  Proud of each and every one of you and good luck to all the parting seniors!  There's too many to name but we all know who they are.  As I closed the broadcast.  "Let your dreams take you where they may." In defeat I am still proud to call myself a Wildcat no matter what the outcome was!

[/quote] Coldspring is going to have throw the ball with success and not just on 3rd & long to win the game, IMO.  One dimensional offenses have much tougher times deeper in the playoffs.  You have to be able to soften up a defense to keep the other team honest.  IF they ran the spread it would be much different but from week 0 to Rd 3 in the playoffs Kirbyville has refined their offense more than CS.

[/quote] The one (of many) differences in Kirbyville and Huffman is that Kirbyville can run the ball effectively.  Say what you want but the run sets up the pass, not vise versa.  Kirbyville's passing game is what has made them more dangerous.  If you crowd the box they will beat you through the air.  No they don't throw it as much as Huffman but it is key in their offensive development.  Besides last time I looked Huffman gave CS all kind of fits and their defense isn't near what Kirbyville's is.
