I think Woodville wins and will play the loser between West Rusk and Arp.

I read where teams that travel over 150 miles only win 16% of the time. If that is true then UIL is giving a disadvantage to those teams traveling that far.

Looking at the jr. high and JV scores with Newton shows me Woodville has a problem developing those young players. I think Woodville has good players, so, what is the problem? May be in a couple of years they will figure their problem out.

The question is ‘will Jasper score’?

I simply said I think Woodville will lose in round one. I also said I hope I was wrong. Woodville lost a very good coach. I do not see Woodville being much more than a average team under this regime .

That means Woodville gets the winner. That will be the end of Woodville. Not wishing Woodville to lose but they lost a good coach who made a difference. Newton’s JV has finished the season and will get to suit up and play against Warren. 7th and 8th gr. Plays Tuesday at Warren.

Dist. 11 is looking like Troup ,West Rusk, Arp and New Diana.

Coach Barbay died in2010

Last time Newton lost a district game was when coach Barbay’s funeral was that week and E Chambers beat us.

Still a ways to go but if the season ended today Newton would be playing Buffalo and Woodville would be playing Arp. Troup plays west Rusk this week and should decide the winner of district 11. W12 vs 4th in 11. R12 vs T11. T12 vs R11. W11 vs 4th 12.

A rare double forfeit. score tied in 3rd Qt when a player took a hard hit to the head and was air lifted by helicopter. Evidently a fight must have broke out and a double forfeit was called. DDF means both teams get a lost. Game was played in Caldwell.
