I wasn't meaning that in a rude way,,,,,just saying that your not in houston anymore,,,not a whole lot of talent around this area,,,,it is all spread out,,,,, Gladiators Bucs Combat Vipers Machine Gunners Gc storm Dogs Tribe A few of these teams were from last yr but I'm sure they will still have teams this yr
Not sure what's going on with the 11U's but Gulf Coast Storm doesn't have an 11U team this year either. We have 12, 13 and 14U teams.
 2.
OK guys you  win i will stop pointing fingers . here is one for both you and aggie 3rd down ball on the 25 i belive  something like that lol  well heck lets kick a FG  mustangs had LESS than a chain link  to go for a first down and keep the ball rolling mustangs lose to nederland now  thats a smart call dont both of you agree lmao yes aggie
The only thing I will agree with is, well nothing really.......Thats what the coaches get paid for. I get paid to sell insurance.
 3.
i am hopeing for a close game, kirbyville always finds away to give the kids from wo-s fits.i will be looking for the line play in the red zone from the mustangs and see if thay have fixed a few things
Line play???????? In another thread you said the problem was play calling. Which one is it? I can't keep up with what you claim the problem is COACH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 4.
I'm not real sure what all the drama is about because I missed the last quarter of the game on the radio while going out of town. Don't have a clue as to what Coach T said or implied. But here are a few things that I do know: 1. Regardless of their pre-season record the district title goes through WOS, PERIOD. I don't care what the "homers" say. If you don't believe they are the dominant program in the area just look at how many threads get started by other schools about "who wins when they play WOS". You rarely if ever see WOS starting a thread about playing Silsbee,BC, or any others. You can not like it all you want but you do have to acknowledge the fact. 2. Yes there are some growing pains going on in Mustang country but they are still very, very, dangerous. 3. The district race will be a good one. Silsbee is talented and coming into their own, BC has as much talent at all the skill positions as anyone, and WOS has a ridiculous defense that is capable of shutting anybody down. 4. Giving credit where credit is due the WOS pre-district schedule was borderline suicidal compared to many others. That's just a fact that's hard to deny. 5. If WOS does not implode from within or from pressure from the faithful they will continue to be the one team everyone else in the district is chasing. If you don't believe that one I bet you a cold drink each team in the district has their date with WOS circled on the calendar. To be fair I would imagine that WOS has their eyes on the other top conteders as well. I look forward to seeing how it all works out. Good luck to all the teams. Rake1
I agree with this also. Great post. For the record books that is twice this week that I have agreed with AAW. Now there is some news.
 5.
I've been in or around the program since the early 80's and I can't remember anyone named Owens, ever. [/quote He is being silly. Coach Owens is "skipper". Not really a coach.
 6. This sounds like kids just being kids. I'm not sure why some people are making a big deal out of it. I for one am glad I didn't get caught doing all of the stupid things I did as a teen. Let them take their punishment and move on.

Karma that's all I can say. Too bad the kids are having to suffer for this. There is no reason you have almost your whole team back from last year and your going through this. Wade Phillips, that's who he reminds me of. Stick to what you are good at. Everybody isn't cut out to be a head coach.
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't Toby leave on his own and Mark decided to retire? Cornel didn't let anyone go as far as I know.
Toby was pretty much forced out. People don't want to talk about it, but ask yourself, if you were the OC with an offense that was scoring alot of points and you have a coach come in and tell you they are getting a new OC and they are going to demote you to coaching the middle school, what would you do? All because his bitterness, this is what his offer to Toby was and that was just wrong. Now I said before that I didn't feel Toby was ready to be a head coach and I still stand by that, but that was a total slap in the face for him to be treated that way. Toby wasn't just the OC, he was a three time state champion in track and field and he helped most of these kids go to division one colleges by taking out his own time and personally bringing these kids on recruiting trips, no other coach did that. He deserved better than he received over there. He was there last night to support the team, but he should have been on that sideline.
I'm not arguing what Toby did for the kids. I agree he helped alot of kids. I'm not real sure about your facts and what Toby was offered and what he wasn't offered. I don't know. But what I do know is that before the decision was ever made about who the next head coach would be, I had a conversation myself with Toby. He never intended on staying if he didn't get the job. Those words came from his mouth. I don't blame him at all. I understand his decision. All that being said, I just disagreed with you saying he let them go when that is not what happened.
Toby knew what he was about to be offered, that's why he said he wasn't going to stay. He didn't want to leave.
All I'm telling you is about a conversation that I had with him right after he applied for the head coaches job. He knew he wasn't staying if he didn't get the job. I have no knowledge what so ever about any conversation between him and Coach T. I just know that the words from his mouth shortly after he applied for the head coaches job was that if he didn't get the job that he wouldn't be staying. Those were his words not mine.
Not sure how he could be forced out before he knew he wouldn't get the job. I like Toby and would have liked to see him stay. It just didn't work out.

For those of us that missed the game. [/quo Yes they are please understand my comment was meant as a joke and only a joke.
 11.
From the STJFL by-laws Article 4 sub-part j line 2 “Any and all teams that can score 50 or more points on any West Orange Stark team will not be play-off eligible.” ;D [/quo Actually I think that rule reads, any and all teams capable of scoring 50 or more points on any WOS team will autamatically be given a suberbowl victory.

There are or were some threads on here about it but I never heard an answer from a league official or board member.

 14.
Just throwing this out there. If my numbers are correct (chances are they may be off) WOS with #4 has given up 2010 Jr. 28 pts, 2009 Jr.White 6 pts., 2008 Pee Wee 41 pts. in each of the regular seasons. So scoring 50 pts in a game is HUGE. Hats off to PA. ALL of those kids played hard. I bet it was a great game. There again I love them all.
This is not the 2009 jr white team though. WOS giving up 50 is a big deal. PA is a good team.
 15. Tryouts for our 14U team have been rescheduled for this Saturday September 24th from 8:00-10:00 am at Orangefield High School. Thanks for your interest in Gulf coast Baseball. td
 16.
Thanks Tony. That's the beauty of that site and why I moved my pictures there. Find the picture you like and you can buy it from there. There should be a button that says buy somewhere on the top of the picture. I had tried doing it where people would just tell me what they wanted. That was a big fail because I am always somewhere shooting a game. This site has made it easier, so try it again and let me know if you need help with it.
I used the site to purchase a couple of pictures and it was very user friendly. Sorry I didn't buy enough for you to retire but I do want to thank you for the pics and the website. The prices were very reasonable also. I'm not aware of us (WOS) having anything like that and I'm not much of a photographer. Thanks for the service you provide. The people of Jasper are lucky to have you. By the way the picture I bought was one at the middle school game where my son (#11 7 A team) was getting creamed. However, he did at least get rid of the ball before he got sacked. Thanks again Tony Dallas

You have one of my son at the WOS- Jasper middle school game and I would like to buy a copy. My name is Tony Dallas. The picture is #38 of the middle school pictures. Please let me know.
 18. Tryouts canceled today due to weather. We will reschedule.
 19.

A game ending 50 to 56 is unheard of
Was this a basketball game?  That's an amazing score.  Sounds like it's time to go back to the defensive drawing board!
You might say that until you play one of these two teams. I can tell you that WOS hasn't given up a point until this game. Not sure about Port Arthur. My guess is these two teams won't give up many points throughout the season.
 20. I have never seen a game that had so many helmets come off. Not only that but shoes too. Strange night. Good win for the Stangs.
 21.
Funny that this thread is so quiet, in the past it would be full of "smack" I quess neither town is sure about their team with the new coaches....I heard the 8th grade does not have a "B" team from WOS does that mean the numbers are getting smaller
I wouldn't say that. It's just that class. The 7th grade does have a B team.
 22.
How is this poking the needle at WOS?  This is an article from the Beaumont Enterprise.  Is it not a fact the Redd kid had to go to a hearing on if he could play or not?  From my understanding any kid can transfer out of a school that in Unacceptable without having to sit out.  Even if it was for "Athletic" reasons, do you think he would say it was?  I used to be a WOS supporter but,  come on Thompson,  stop wasting tax payer dollars testifing on a kid transfering on what you heard from other students and from a school that has other problems than their football team.  Let the smites begin.
No smites from me.
