So just to make sure that I understand if you make "a mistake" in the "heat of the moment" that changes everything - well I do agree that is a different way of looking at the issue.
But the statement that it is NOT assault if it happens in the heat of the moment is - well just wrong - assault is assault regardless of the motivation or circumstances.  Why I disagree with you is that this was a planned attack, mistake, assault, beating ..... whatever you want to call it and they should be seriously punished for it.  It is my opinion that if they are severely punished they might just find a way to become successful and contributors to society - if they are given a pass maybe not so much in this entitled world that we currently live in.
 

?? Not quite following so let me break it down ?? I chose Sterling to win and to win 6A state title to put on the marquee sign at Stallworth stadium in the Northwest corner next to Lee high schools 1950's State title. They're undefeated and the school is way overdue to return to the glory days of the mid 80's / early 70's. Sterling is a great example of how high school programs don't have tradition per say more like windows. So bottomline I'm a Ranger supporter so I'm kinda confused on the wall comment.

Ok if were finished with the crap talk to each other . lets discuss football,    Crosby is not over rated, the only thing that will hurt Crosby is Crosby ( too many penalties), and injuries.   That was the most athletic team I have seen in years, even without their RBs.   Do see room for improvement on play calling and execution of plays, athletic ability is there.   Every team has room to improve.  There were some questionable calls, but BH had a couple as well, just excuses,. last week how many did Crosby have?  When they play a tough team they cannot have penalties,   I was impressed, the kids are huge and fast and can play, again like all teams I see room for improvement, but not over rated. , BH played hard 1st half, threw the ball a little, moved the ball well 1st half, 2nd half had 6 turnovers, kept Defenses back against the wall.  Defense is pretty young but played better as game went on, was impressed by their play as well in the 2nd half, even if Crosby pulled starters, they have depth and BHs defense I thought showed some promise for the next couple of years, need to teach kids how to play the secondary vs the pass, cannot wait until the ball is caught to react,   Offense hit a wall in 2nd half, so predictable, nothing to fall back on when trailing, plus fumbles and ints, did show me that they may have played over their heads in first half.   Crosby is fun to watch, the line was massive,by looking at the roster, they have 8-10 kids that could be going to the next level, not all D1 but a few were and both D1 RBs not playing,   BH is not a real athletic team,they are over all small , I think we do not have a solid strength program, they run a ton, but lifting and lifting the correct way makes a huge difference,   I think BH will battle for 3rd and 4th the next couple of seasons,    Bottom line is 6 turnovers will not get it done vs anyone you play,  BH did what I thought they would do, came out with heart and hung around with the #2 team in the state, they hung with them, never did i see them  as a threat, again thought the future looks decent.   Good luck to Crosby on a long playoff run,stay healthy and always look for ways to improve,   BH keep your heads up, played a dang good team, you showed toughness and heart and with hard work the future looks to be a very competitive one. 

Great post and thanks for the insight. I coached two of Humble's standout Srs. In peewee from last years team and they too mentioned to watch out for this years squad. Terio is a playmaker and the defense should be steady. I banked on you guys making the playoffs literally so I hope you come through, just not this week. Facing Crosby, like it does any team, only prepares you for a nice playoff run. Hope for an injury free game!!

Six starters did not start due to injuries, stomach flu, and healing up.  An athlete that has never played running back before started and did a hell of a job. I can't wait for cougar14 to posts his stats. Game was never close even though the refs tried like hell to keep it that way.  But sometimes you score so fast even the refs couldn't figure out what just happened.

Scoring 40 in a district game not impressive huh? 3rd/ 4th string starting RB's cause All American has a shoulder injury and our workhorse has a bad ACL. WR forced to play RB and out athleted anyone on the defense.  4 players on def not playing either. Throw on top the garbage calls that everyone that comes to the saltdome has the privilege to get hosed with, I'd say yeah your right just an off night at the office for the number two team in the state of TEXAS!! I think I recall u not impressed when the ol' Coogs hung 60 a few years back so I guess you're just hard to impress eh!! Good luck on making the playoffs though I'm banking on ya with how much your neighbors are in disarray with nepotism and getting shelled on D!!

BH did stop Crosby on one possession in the first half and if you were at the game you wouldn't have once thought Crosby was being threatened.
We just know we're held to a different standard. We're the only team in SETX that can have 28 points and be leading at halftime and there be an issue. It's not good enough to win by three TDs anymore, we have to embarrass every team or we're overrated. 
That's why some fans were silent when we were on pace for 56.

Hey when you are the top dog, you get everybody's best shot.  Whether Code Red is making mistakes, or the 'Hill is playing over their heads, or its just a good game of SE Tx Football, I have no clue, I'm not there, so props to the Hill for keepin it close, but enjoy it while youre there, because Crosby pulls away in the 2nd half. 49-28 final`

It amazes me that some coaches refuse to evolve. What worked last week, isn't necessarily going to work this week. Let alone 5 or 10 years ago. You have to willing to change with the times as a coach. Especially at the 5A/6A level. And unfortunately, kids have other opportunities to occupy their time. If what you do as a football coach is not enjoyable or exciting, then your numbers will continue to drop.  

A Head Football Coach has to be a great football mind, but he also has to be a Politician and an Entertainer. He has to be able to galvanize a community behind him and his vision. With the evolution of the BH community, they need a leader with a vibrant, outgoing, progressive personality. And yes, sometimes you have go around a kiss babies and shake a lot of hands and slap a lot of backs. It comes with the job.

I will never forget the sadness, and amazement that I felt that morning.   Terrorist striking on our soil and killing our citizens is something that will always be with me.  All the mess that goes on internally in our country needs to stop.  I am proud to have served.  I am proud to continue serving.  I absolutely love our country.

Then go to an academic website and all you mensa boys can talk quantum physics, this is a football thread. Youv'e been on here for years bumping your gums about Crosby and telling folks how good BH WAS in football so reap what y'all have sown. Funny thing is, Crosby WILL be graduating two from Rice with honors probably, a masters at TCU, future MLB player that graduated with honors, another kid that will play under the shield next year, and several Div I honors bestowed in the next few years, oh and BTW ranked number 2 in the state. So wallow in your self pity and deflect the fact that Crosby is coming in your house for a beatdown (unless BH's 1920's offense can't milk the clock to keep it respectable) with what I'm sure is a shot at Crosby with academic talk and we'll just go about business as usual, like have our cake and eat it too!!!!!
