Not Arguing with this, but I think i would like to see Everett hit in the 2 hole. Has good speed, can bunt and possibly alot of hit and run with him. That is assuming the Astros can find someone to carry a decent OBP in the leadoff spot. Either way Everett has to be out of the 8 hole.
Maybe
1. Biggio ? or Burke if he can handle it
2. Everett
3. Berkman
4. Lee
5. Scott
6. Ensberg/Lamb
7. Burke/ Everett
8. Ausmus
9. Pitcher

Do not know too much about this district. But judging from what I saw from Huffman and BH last year it would not surprise me if these two teams are the class of the district

 Is Gilligan ok? I didn't think he recruited much from that side of the Bridge Good luck Mr. Stringer you deserve it

First off' date=' you took my words all wrong. What I am saying about the shirt (which I really don't mind) was that a kid was doing re-conditioning (as Coach B would say) because he Forgot to wear the right shirt. Instead of getting valuable practice time, he is running, while some of the other kids that don't deserve to play are getting better. Also, I believe I have a right to "KNOW" who my son is going to be coached by, I would hate to see the years I have spent with him on the practice field get ruined, like it did last year. 3rd we are not LCM, and until then, we aren't going to have the same rules. Coach Griff can do what he does, because he has been winning. Those certain coaching privlleges are earned. I am sorry I rattled everyone's feather, I just think these kids at Lumberton got a b ad deal last year.[/quote']
First of all, why don't they other players deserve to get a chance to prove he clan play during practice, sounds like to me you are only concerened if YOUR SON plays. You do have the right to know who is coaching your son, but not the right to bash him publicly like you have BUFF and are seemingly ready do to with the new coach. You mention that Griff does certian things and gets certian privlleges because he is winning? Have you ever stopped to think that he wins because he does these things? If you are really this concerned about the baseball program over in Lumberton then may I make a suggestion. Go back to college, get a degree in education, Get hired as the coach, and then you can make the decisions about the team. Until then shut up about it.

Have to place a vote for Hargrave out in silsbee. Just one of the best defensive catchers ive seen play in a long while
-
I dont see the problem with Jackson, sure he has missed some balls but what catcher doesn't Ive even seen the pros miss a few! Lets not forget this kid is only a SOPH and is catching a D1 possibly professional caliber pitcher. Not an easy task for anyone, especially some one so young. Keep up the good work Casey and good luck the rest of the way!

Great article about a great young man and great ballplayer. Hope to see them make it to the regional tourny and make some noise

Should be interesting to see if "assistant" Coach Young flips for a one-gamer. And if so if the Coach from Brenham attacks the integrity of another one of the great HS coaches in TX

Huffman in 3---Haven't seen Hudson play this year, but their reputation preceeds them. No doubt they are a very good ball club. Huffman also with a very good ball club that can really hit well. I look for a great series going to 3 games with Huffman winning an exciting game 3 to clinch. I am hoping to see a BC-Huffman match up. I think if Hudson is to win this series Belt is going to have to come back to close out the last 2 innings of game 3

BC in 2 games. Don't see it being a blow out in game one, provided Hales starts for BH. I think BH will put the ball in play fairly well against Angelle but not quite enough to pull out the win. Hales has the ability to keep BC's dangerous line-up off balance. Game 2 could get ugly really quick for both clubs. I expect a high scoring game without the aces on the mound. BH can really hit, and without Angelle on the mound I think the over under for total runs scored should be set around the 15 mark.

Hargraves of Silsbee. Ive seen him play 21 innings this season and have seen only 2 balls get past him, both being tough pitches to block. Outstanding defensively and looks to know how to handle a pitcher well.

back in 96 we played in Jasper and their clean up guy don't remember his name hit a shot that was still going up when it cleared the trees in right beyond the wall. Thankfully it was foul, but by far the farthest ball Ive seen hit in a HS ball game
