Much closer. Buna didn't play well, and was fortunate they were playing Warren and not EC, OF, or Anahuac. Maybe they were looking ahead to EC on Friday,

They did. 43-39. Nice upset win for Warren, and a bad loss for Buna. Give Warren a lot of credit. They shot very well from 3 in the 1st half and built a 13-point lead at halftime. Buna came back in the 2nd half and took the lead at one point in the 4th. Good ballgame.

They're playing very well and are much improved over last season. However, their 4-0 consists of wins over Anahuac, Warren, Hardin and Kirbyville. Arguably those are the 4 teams likely to miss the playoffs in the district. Tonight against Kountze and next week against OF and Buna will be a good indicator of just how improved EC is this season. Either way, it's a very strong start to district play for the Lady Bucs!

Don't count out Buna. They went toe to toe with Orangefield last week losing by 7. They had a lead till about midway through the 4th. There will be a lot of very competitive game in this district.

There was some kind of scheduling mix up between Evadale and Buna. No one cancelled. It was just a simple mix up. It happens. Maybe they can reschedule and play a game sometime during the break.

They definitely should be locks. Both have been doing it at a high level for a long time. Congrats to both great coaches

Really happy for Buna. The girls still love and respect their former coach, but they really wanted to beat him badly! Nice win for them.

I'm not arguing that at all. I'm just saying even the best coaches have to have some talent equal to or close to their opponents, or it's going to be tough.

Mitchell is great! However, the team just isn't quite as talented as a few he's had in years' past. If they even make the playoffs this season, it would be one of Mitchell's best coaching jobs.
