The only thing that matters is a team found a way to beat the texans already this season and I’m confident the mustang coaches and players can do that also! Nobody has found a way to beat the mustangs 39 straight games! Our boys have found a way to pull out a win every single game so far this season...some pretty while others were ugly, but in the end had the same result! The mustangs find a way to keep the streak alive Friday night!!!!

More than sure Wimberley haven't seen a defense like ours. Y'all been saying all year we aren't good as last year. To say a team that's having a "down" year, were STILL here in the 5th round, surviving each week by week. Like i said before, embrace the doubt. These kids been busting their butts all year, dealing with the hurricane , hearing they're not very good and etc. Just another day at the office come next friday. We'll be more than ready. That Navasota group in 2012 was the best small school team i’ve ever seen in my life. Our defense that year was the best defense we had ever fielded with 10 shutouts on the year, an Alabama , Arizona State , Baylor and UTEP commits in the secondary and 2 three year starting linebackers that went on to be Juco All Americans. They shredded us 38-7. They were big , fast , physical and well coached by Coach Fedora. They won the state title game something like 41-3 or so.

Wouldn’t mind seeing this being played at PVAMU. Nice new stadium and everything. Good experience for the kids 

All i know is when it's time for us to win we make it happen. Team has been battle tested a quite few times this year and they find a way to come out with the win. You can have all the speed in the world, but if you can't get open then that speed means nothing. It's more than speed to just winning a route.
 

Newton, WOS, Shadow Creek, and LCM figured out how to win against the fastest young man in the country.

Believe it or not, people in their own town barely believe in this group of boys. Most think we’ll be done with football season next week. Me personally, I am highly confident in what we have. Just don’t want to see any band wagon fans when the 5th round comes around 

I know exactly what you are saying. We are 9-2, which for 98% of the teams in this state would be incredible. In Gilmer that's not good enough. Probably not in WOS either...........but as I have gotten older and tried to get wiser............I have tried very hard to enjoy it for what it is, as long as it lasts. Winning Championships is freaking hard, and I applaud everyone who does it. Those who do it multiple years in a row are truly special. Be thankful that your kids compete year in and year out like ours do. It's a pride thing in the community and I understand that. But for the fans the most important thing is to "enjoy the ride" as far as it takes you. Some years it takes you to the ocean, you get to feel the sand between your toes and the sun shines bright. Sometimes you run in the ditch. Every group is different......... enjoy them for what they are. I'm thru preaching now.

Our play style is pretty conservative, but it also plays in our favor. Unlike past years, we have a running game that can pound and wear you down and also control the clock. We've never been able to run the ball like this so consistently. Cooper, Chaka and Sibley are a nice triple threat. I would enjoy seeing us throw it a little bit here and there. Necessarily doesn't have to be deep balls but Chaka can sling it. I like how we got #15 Jarron Morris more involved on offense this past game. He's one of those guys that you need to get the ball in his hands because he's been pretty exciting these past 3 years. I expect to see a complete  game this week. I am not going to predict a score, but we'll win comfortably.

It must be tough to be a back to back state champion and have to play a "perfect" game every week to keep the "fans" happy. Bottom line, a WIN is a WIN and the Mustangs are still playing in December. I completely agree that the 2017 Mustangs don't resemble the 2016 Mustangs, but they're still finding a way to get the W week after week. Have any of you critics noticed how many of these guys are 2 way players this season compared to last? WOS does not have the depth they did in the past, but they're doing a great job with what they have! To add to that, how many of these guys were even starters last year? You guys say the play book is too watered down or they won't open it up....I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume the Mustangs did not game plan for the Sophomore to be at QB all week long, but he did a great job when he got in there. Also, looked to me in the second half like the Mustangs slowed the game down to keep things from getting messy. One player took a punch to the groin, another had his helmet ripped off and a third mustang had another player take a swing at him. I could be wrong, but it looked like the Mustangs were getting 4-5 yards every run towards the end of the game. Why would you get away from something that's working? Protect the lead and your players. Everyone wants to critique and point fingers at the coaches, but I doubt they would trade jobs with them!

This game was never in doubt at all. Just glad we were able to leave almost injury free. Hope Chaka heal up real fast. Our defense is playing championship level right now.
