About a week ago

EC coming off a big battle against Kountze, in which they fell 90-81, they look to bounce back tonight at home in a big district game against Buna. Buna only has one loss in district, a beat down by EC early in district play, and is currently tied for first in the district with Kountze. In the pick-em's EC is favored by 9. What're yall's thoughts on this match-up?

IMO Angel, Benson, and #24, I believe his name is Joe. Could all play at the next level. I've seen kids who have gone, and had successful playing careers at the D2 level and these 3 are just as good if not better. Their basketball IQ is the most impressive part and is what sets them apart. I also believe they are underrated athletes, as a former player, and playing against all three of them. It seems they hit the weight room enough when fighting for a rebound, and are a lot quicker than they may seem. I don't however think they would have much success at the D1 level. Bosha for example was a tremendous high school player, but he was a set shooter. He plays for a poor Lamar team, and rarely sees the floor. I'm a huge fan of BS and this is not a knock to any of these players, I think they all play the game the right way, and have a great attitude in doing so.

His post play is the most underrated part of his game, he can post-up anyone on the court. Watched him post up a 6'5 post, that is a very talented post, and score on him 2-3 times in one game.

I think what's holding him back from the D1 level is quickness and athleticism. I do believe people don't give him enough credit for the two, but kids at the next level will be able to defend against him. Now I do believe he could play at the D2 level no doubt!

I agree, both teams are very good. The last two years Kountze has had a big run to end the third, in every game. With that said Kountze played great ball last night, I thought EC played just as well other than about a minute and half stretch at the end of the third. No doubt we should see a third match-up, that is if Kountze has all their starters in games other than when they play EC lol

How'd I know everyone was going to be back lol. Should be a very good game, I just don't know if Kountze can repeat the performance it had in the first game.

What's going on at Kountze? I know there has to be more to the story than what you guys are leading on...not trying to get anyone's personal business out, but just wondering on how long these players will be out?

Deweyville had 28 turnovers at halftime, and 16 in the 2nd half without EC pressing.

Tigers 20+ just don't think HJ has the talent depth Silsbee has!

With what's going on at Kountze, I don't know about that... That said they will play Buna a lot better than they did last time, but i don't know if they can repeat the performance they had against EC.

This doesn't surprise me, what surprised me is how Buna played with HJ and Kountze. Buna was pretty bad the night we played them! Maybe they were just on against HJ and Kountze, but still don't see how!

I thought they might beat Buna at home, bc well let's say they have don't zebra help. Also I think they will be the 4th place team
