LND09

This game has me a little confused because of how Newton has played so far. Newton won't lay down because they are just like WOS in that they will play anyone anytime. That's whey they are both good. In my honest opinion, Newton gets beat. I'm not saying a blowout but should be comfortable in the 4th for WOS. And like a poster said earlier, when Newton goes back to playing their own size teams and not ones that are 2-3 times larger they will be fine. Remeber what happened last year. Everyone was writing Newton off at this time(except for the Eagle faithful and WOS fans) and I had the privilege of watching them on Fox sports in late December. The main thing is no one gets hurt in this game, we both respect each other and want to help each other. That's why this game is even on the schedule with 2 of the best teams SETX has ever had to offer going against each other. 

I love all of the people who back the teams around here who are used to getting beat down taking their little jabs. Enjoy it while you can... even the ones who are trying to do it subtly... We know who the haters are, even though you jump on our band wagon the first chance you get.
You have to give it to RF, they weren't just big, those big kids were athletic with just as much speed as we have and taller athletes. It was like watching a small college team out there. They were just physically better than we are. We also made to many mistakes to play with a team like that. Many of those mistakes were forced. 

are you drunk or something? Weakest district in the state is ok I guess when you play for a STATE CHAMPIONSHIP last year. And hopefully again this year. What in the world does your district have to do with the last 4 years of you made the Quarter Finals in the first 4 years then the SC game in the 5th? 99% of schools would be happy with just a playoff win. Go to bed and sleep it off. You got beat by a better team. Like I said, Silsbee is the real deal. Yall will make noise in D1 but stop trying to degrade us with our district opponents or we've only won 2 of the 5 State Championships we've played in. Just that right there makes you look silly when Silsbee hasn't even sniffed a quarter final.

Nice W Stangs.  Strong 4th qtr with Silsbee not finishing drives proved the difference. Tigers will work on it and finish where they need to be.

I agree with Pepper.  Regardless of the final score, impressed with Silsbee tonight.  After a 1 year hiatus, Tiger football appears to be back.  Glad this game lived up to its billing. 
On another note, had no issue listening on the iPad.  For some reason, couldn't get it to work well on my phone.  As always, pleasure listening to Mike and Tim.  They do a heck of a job. 

Well, I was wrong about low scoring but right about being close. We need a game like this. Silsbee is a great team. Of course I always root for Silsbee unless they play WOS.i honestly feel WOS will win this because the 4th quarter is the difference with our conditioning but man what a game. This makes both teams better. Silsbee wins their district hands down and will make a run in the playoffs!!

Give credit where it's due.  This is a talented Silsbee team that came ready to play.  WOS should be happy to have this game because the way it's looking, not sure there's a team in the district that will even test them.  Not good for playoff runs. 

One thing you got to say, WOS never quits and never recognizes that they might be beaten. They just keep coming.

Whatever else happens tonight, Silsbee has given the mighty Mustangs and that defense all they can handle

stats say WOS had 12 penalties and PNG had 7!

Has anyone watched film or the replay on the game. I'm curious to know if the block in the back on KJ's long punt return was legit. Man it gave some of us in the stands déjà vu from the penalty on DT return in the State Champ game. From our side, it was a text book block. It seems now a days refs see a hard hit in a return and automatically think it has to be illegal. It could have been a good penalty but from what I saw, it wasn't. No griping from me just really want to know.

I thought this game was ugly! Way too many penalties from both teams. WOS should have beat us by a couple more scores. I believe that this game did expose some weaknesses for both teams. Did see a lot of positives too. Jack Dallas has matured a lot since I saw him last year. What a quarterback!  KJ Dad, your son had a good game too! Good luck to the Mustangs this season.  I will try to see y'all again in the playoffs. The Indians will bounce back, too. A couple of weeks to iron out the wrinkles and it will be fun again.

What's up with the Crosby trolling?  I'm sure Cornel would be happy to put them on the schedule when the next 2 yrs schedules are set.  He is always looking to play up and test his boys.  Problem is, he usually has trouble getting the bigger schools to re-up after the first 2 years because they don't like to get beat by a smaller school.  Except for PNG. 

It is for learning. We have a week off then we play Tyler Chapel Hill. This district will end up being a strong district. I see us playing tough in district. 

Faircloth will not play kids both ways. He is a fantastic coach, but he had to realize he is at PNG not Odessa Permian. We have reciever group that is badass. Can't tell me they couldn't help at the corners. This is what non district is for...learning. Hopefully it was learning experience. Best of luck to STANGS, first class program!

89falcon has already been exposed as a bitter troll who watched WOS play for 3 state championships and win 2 of them during his HS years. 25 years later he still can't let go. Sad little man...

You were scared like a baby after the first half! Gilmer played like champions the second half. Don't act like a little puss though and discredit yourself by discounting WOS! Everyone knows you are a joke from previous post but come on man!

Honestly coaching wasnt a factor at all for them. They had the game won. They gave the game away. Dropped balls, fumbles , etc. yes gilmer won but WOS was the better team. They made costly mistakes
