I think you have to consider Newton the cream of the 4A and under crowd in SETX. Question is this: are Newton’s quality wins over Silsbee and WOS tarnished any by this loss? I thought Newton would be down this year, but I kinda took that back after winning those first two. I’m kinda wondering if Newton has actually slipped, and WOS/Silsbee are playing worse than expected this year? Silsbee/WOS both has sluggish games against LUM/BC tonight. That’s a question for reasonable Newton fans.

As a follow up to this... I’m nowhere near qualified to call football games... but I honestly might commit to working on the chain gang for a season. I’ll bet there are others that feel the same way. Where would someone go to see what’s available?

I think the situation is only gonna get worse. Too much disrespect from parents and players. They already weren’t doing it for the money... once you take away the enjoyment there’s not much reason to officiate.

The last real Silsbee upset that I can remember was in ‘16 when they lost to what turned out to be a decent BC squad that ran the slot T. That was the year that the Tigers had Tre Whoever at Qb, “the hands down best receiving corp in Southeast Texas,” and Calvin Tyler. This group of Tigers hasn’t seen the Slot T yet this year. Lumberton might jack around and make it interesting.

Face it..: y’all got exposed. You have wins over BC and LCM. The first real competition y’all faced (unranked Diboll) embarrassed the highly over-ranked (#2 last week, missing this week) Dawgs. I get it... it was just too much pressure and we all know how y’all do under pressure. Don’t worry, though... y’all will still make the playoffs out of that weak district and then get hammered out early again. It’s as predictable as death, taxes, Jasper ISD firing another Super, and y’all being scared to play Silsbee.

I’ll have some of what you’re smoking, kind sir. It’s so aggravating because every time WOS has a “down” year, BC does, too. And every time we have a decent team come through, it coincides with WOS having a state contender, lol. Have the cards even put up 36 points this year?

That’s weird... I can’t ever remember the state ever having to take over BISD for financial mismanagement before this. I guess I forgot about the other time when the white electrical “accidentally” filed 1.2 million dollars worth of fraudulent invoices. Or way back when the white assistant super went to prison for embezzlement. I’m sure it happened though. I guess we’re just better at not getting caught, huh? Here’s a scenario. A white kid steals a candy bar from a convenience store and doesn’t get in trouble. A black kid takes a candy bar... except he comes in with thirteen of his friends, pistol whips the clerk on Facebook Live, and runs from the cops in a stolen car... but can’t understand why he got 20 years in prison for stealing a candy bar. I guess it’s just systemic oppression and privilege working in the white kid’s favor.
