Congrats to Kirbyville on their first win of the season!
It's our second win. We beat Hardin 25-15 a few weeks ago.

The talent is there and always has been. The problem is that the football program has been pretty much completely dismantled. Talent can only get you so far if there's no organization to put it all together.Â

They lost to Hardin by 14 and Hardin will be much better next year.

Is anybody at this game that can give an update?

DEFINITELY saw a better, much-improved team tonight. I have very high hopes of where we'll be next yr.

Nobody is denying that KV had some impressive teams in the last 18 years.. but I think this is in regards to this year's team. I personally don't believe you guys are the worst team in SETX by any stretch. As long as there are Colmesneils, Sabine Passes, and Burkevilles of the world you guys never have to worry about that. In a relative sense, though... you guys are 0-5 and I don't think there are too many SETX teams left that haven't won a game. So there's that..
So we should play weaker teams to get a better record? There's that..

K-Ville’s best chance to get a win, only chance to prove they aren’t one of the worst teams in SETX. Will be a close game.Â
The Warren game is our best chance actually, but I do agree that we have a shot against Hardin. We're definitely having one of the worst yrs we've had in recent memory, but we have been a play or two away from being 3-2 right now instead of 0-5. So saying we may be one of the worst teams in SETX may be a bit much....especially after the seasons we've put together since 2000.

You sure about that?

I saw some progress tonight but not enough to be optimistic about district. Our defense looked pretty good, they just got wore down. As far as moving the ball, both of our scores were on big plays (and one of them was by the defense). We've got to work on being able to grind out some scores or else district games won't be much different. Keep working on it Cats. I still believe in you. Congratulations Lumberton on the win.Â

We'll see this Friday..

I’d say Jasper is above average. Strange thing is only people from Kirbyville think that the team is gonna won this game
Go back and read the comments^^ again hoss. A Newton fan picked us too. Yall may very well take the win. Who knows? But if you're thinking that you've got us based off of our loss to Newton, then I can assure you you're in for a long night. Newton would take Lumberton to the cleaners just as easily.Â

Kirbyville just played (and lost to) probably one of the best teams Newton has ever assembled....and that's saying a lot. Lumberton just played (and lost to) an avg Jasper team. Anybody in Lumberton thinking this will be an easy game just because Newton throttled us is in for a rude awakening. I pick Kirbyville by one score.

Unless you know the details of Newton substituting kids in and passing the ball late, it’s probably best not to say this. Very possible backups on the team took a running play and scored late. I’m not gonna tell a kid not to score when he just gets in.
You are correct. Newton outmatched us in every way, even the backups were scoring. And what's worth noting here is that it wasn't so much that we had a bad defense. We actually looked pretty decent on that side of the ball. But against Newton's offense, there was nothing we could do. I'm telling you, if you're on Newton's schedule this yr, be ready. You'll get the same treatment. It may not be 71-0 but I can assure you.....all of you will lose.Â
