EB will basically have the same team as last year, pretty good all around team, it's no always accurate to compare past games but look at blanco  vs EB last year Blanco14-EB7, Newton 48- Blanco 21, newton has some key starters returning and some weapons that are being put in to play, again I myself think the eagles could be as good or better than 2014, the young cats and the returning letterman had a taste of the "SHIP"last year and wants some redemption, we could have another rough preseason but that rough preseason is what put us in Arlington

Just noticed I dident answer what the post asked, Newton could have 3 losses coming out of preseason, Tatum, Henderson , WOS , I don't think we will let orangefield squeak by this season, we played Henderson pretty close all game long, like said above they were dropping like flies that game, they had plenty on the sideline to fill the spots, I'm hoping for a better outcome this season in week one vs tatum even if we don't get the win, WOS is going to be head hunting week 5 after the upset last season could be another good one or a really bad one lol

Guess it close enough for me to start talking a little bit, but I think Crockett is going to be a handful this year, east Bernard lost nobody I believe so #1. Makes since I guess, Newton could be as good or better I think than 2014. I'm not buying in to EF just yet, Cisco is Cisco they will be in the mix, I know nothing about Waskoms new QB, but I don't think Chan can carry the young wildcats back to the top by hisself

I will answer this at week 6 lol, prime example this year, had no idea I would be sitting in cowboys stadium, have some key players returning, also will be a chance for some young guys to make a name, we shall see

Beginning of the season newton was belittled to even win district, I'm posting this a day after our state championship game!!!!! I'd say we had a dang good year played as far as the UIL will let us, do I wish we brought the title back to newton ,of course I do,and would liked to see the ball aired out a little more under the conditions, but the ball dident bounce our way we live to see another day, congrats to the players an coaching staff on a hell of a season, Newton will be around next year!

I really like Newton's chances this year. They woke up and decided to be Newton against us. Wasnt expecting that but always pull for the Eagles.

They like the fact that we lost I guess, so this keeps getting thrown around and brought up, so I just kept it going and posted it here, this years team still has kids from that 2012 game

Now that many of our schools are out of the playoff picture I just wanted to introduce some clarity to the picture that a few have tried to paint. The picture is on of embarrassment and distain for many of our school systems and specifically our athletic programs in comparison to others across the state. Here it goes...its a complicated situation. School systems located in major industry growth areas or in economically exsposive areas with significant population exspansion have very deep pockets. Success of a program does not always and will not always be the determining factor in the building of new athletic facilities. A big factor here in SETX is generations old and we are still paying for it...its call massive tax ebatments and back in the day they were handed out to industry like candy. Next is School finance and what's been going they the state courts. I am gonna use many of the small districts in this area as an example...they are poor, no real industry, at the top of the tax rates and having to use bonds to pay for new learning facilities. It's not a simple is just add more bond money because you have to have the tax rolls to qualify the bond. Here recently some schools that got make overs were compliments of FEMA and Hurricanes, but that's kinda like having to get sick to loose weight...lol...some a few make grand statement about how terrible things are and how our kids are being deprived. I think it has more to do with what's priority when it comes to finances. Hey just think about it this way...our po little ole kids actually get to look forward to what is a special time during play-offs when they get to go play in luxury...those that live in it probably don't see much special in the process. Just s thought guys and my opinion as far as clarity goes.
