  1. Not sure where to post this and maybe some already have. I hope some of you will see it especially some of our local high school athletes. I saw of lot of young people out helping during this Harvey disaster from Lamar University and from some of our local high schools. I was helped in a small way by some local high school athletes (realized later they are quite the star athletes as well); anyway, this kind of gives a good feeling about humanity and especially some of our young people. Some of these were just 14 and 15 years old but they had strength and able bodies to help - there were both male and female so thanks to all. It was almost unreal the caring and compassion they showed like they were trained professionals. I will be especially following the ones I saw and their careers - and will wish them all the best unless of course they are playing against the teams I pull for. Again, sincere thanks and may you be greatly blessed for the good things you did.
  2. The stadium has an Astroturf outfield so that would not have deteriorated. The infield has artificial dirt. I think it was chicken to call it after 19 minutes. As much rain as they had already played in they could have found a spot for that final out. I figure it is all about money anyway since Liberty was the host school. That is a poor introductory start to a new tournament if you want to lend it some credibility and attract more big names in the future that missed the NCAA tournament. On the other hand, congratulations to senior pitcher Ciara Luna for putting the team on her back and pitching most of the innings in the tournament. Also, to two other seniors catcher Brynn Baca and Ashley McDowell...to coach Holly Bruder...and to all the team for getting to the championship game and fighting to the very end. You brought pride and class to Lamar University and our local area. .

  11. Sweetwater 42 Gilmer 21...6 minutes left in 3rd
  12. wow they woke up and punted out of bounds with 17 seconds left in half
  13. Now KJ punt return for TD called back due to block in back
  14. Pick six by WOS waived off due to personal foul....Navarro ball at their own 42
  15. was scanning some info and don't know how accurate it is...said Navarro has 3 runners with over 1,000 yards and also average close to 100 passing yards/game. I think Cuero generally had a better defense than Navarro. WOS just needs to stay focused which has not been a problem in any of their games.
  16. WOS 48 Giddings 5 FINAL Congratulations WOS
