  1. .....and this applies to Cal. vs. Texas how? i know nothing about Cal this year. I will let the gurus figure who is supposed to win. I pull for my Longhorns regardless. Anyone who does not like the Horns, there are several other threads to beat your chest on. 3 Horns fans and 3 Ags on this Texas thread. Go figure.
  2. Astros desperately need this win. Go Stros!
  3. They're very exciting to watch. They can sweep the Dodgers and win series against the Yankees and K.C., but they struggle with the Rangers. I haven't figured that one out yet. BTW, there are games yet to be played. Hopefully we can make it very interesting.
  4. Next, there will be no college entrance exams, no S.A.T.s, and their degrees will simply be handed out in their respective fields. That's the doctor I want operating on me. DUH!!!!!!!
  5. The dumbing down of America. Why even have school if you aren't even eighth grade smart?
  6. Astros have shown me all year that they can't beat the Rangers. This is what it has come down too so.....Lets Do It!
  7. ok. Didn't know that. I guess I should have been leary since he was cut by the Titans.
  8. Cowboys need a WR to take up slack while Dez is on the mend. I'll take Nicks! [Hidden Content]
  9. ......also, he said that mayor Nagin said that Katrina had passed and the levees broke after that. Well....D-U-H!!!!!!! After heavy rains, it takes a couple days for bayous, streams, and rivers to CREST!!!! No wonder he is no longer the mayor. Oh yeah, isn't he in jail? Please connect the dots.
  10. Didn't he say that the bombing of the levees was a rumor. Why even mention it? Does anyone on this board believe that those levees were sabotaged? Please raise your hand if you do. I want to see what an embicile looks like. Oh wait, I just saw Farrakhan!
  11. baba, I'm from the old school where you couldn't even touch the receiver at all at any time. Then they started allowing the chuck within five yards. We all know how well that has worked out. When it becomes judgement calls, then there will always be controversy Back in the day when football was really football, the o linemen could not touch the d linemen with their hands as that would constitute holding. It made it more difficult to pass block and put more pressure on the QB to get rid of the ball. The timing had to be exact and the route run perfectly. Not much ad libbing unless you were Tarkenton or Staubach. High scoring games back then were 17-10. Now it is nothing to see scores in the high 20s and 30s. People wanted more offense so they legalized holding but at the same time allowed the receiver to be chucked. Conflict of interest if you ask me. Now, we can bump and run, hand checking all the while, and cry when a flag gets thrown. The judgement calls will be seen both ways, depending on which team you follow. What gets me is the fans who cry...."all he did was grab his jersey". Well, sometimes that's all it takes.
  12. Could have forgotten about the timeout Dallas got back when they called timeout and there was a penalty. Still no excuse. Even if they had one more timeout, they would have had to score twice.....twice. That's assuming that Dallas would score the TD first so that they would only have to drive for a game tying FG after the onsides kick recovery. Sure is a huge assumption to put on one timeout. Liked your last sentence.
  13. He sure did. I forgot about that. Don't score to go up by 10 with less than 2 minutes? Wow....brilliant.
  14. No comment.
  15. Not trying to be funny. Please don't tell me this guy was failing this teacher's class.
  16. Exactly. After everyone gets tired of the flags, there would be no more grabbing. It works for both teams so there is no advantage. They were supposed to be more strict on these types of calls this year anyway. Does anyone here realize that if a receiver and defender are running full speed, side by side, just how little of a shove it takes to throw the other guy off his route or keep him from jumping (Dez)?
  17. Final comment......yes, the Giants could have run another 35 seconds and made that final drive by the Boys almost impossible. Love the outcome though. Most consistent players......Romo/Dunbar......even though Romo/Witten got the game ball. I have no problem with that either.
  18. Here is what I hate about Collinsworth. The PI that led to Dallas' TD, he said that Cromartie had him by the shoulder but that Williams didn't feel the effects of it. What a terrible thing to say and how can he know that? We can't have different degrees of grabbing, then we will have lots of controversial calls. The rule is.....after five yards No TOUCHING! If we adhere to this rule, the calls will sit better with everyone. COllinsworth was a WR and he would have signaled for a flag had that been him. How to improve the Cowboys. Offense: catch the passes and hold onto the ball......period! Back-to-back turnovers almost did us in. Defense: need to tackle lower. Most players can bounce off of a high hit unless you just smear them.
  19. OMG, I loved that crossing pattern pass to McFadden. Reminds me of why I wanted McFadden instead of Felix Jones. I am anxiously awaiting the halfback option pass. Dez missed an easy pass there forcing a FG. On to the Eaglets.
  20. Just a short take on the game.....always liked Dunbar as a RB but did not know his pass and RAC abilities. Missed almost 3/4 of the game due to my work. Didn't get to see Randle, McFadden, or Dez. What happened? Heard Dez left in first half for dehydration (no conditioning from pre season). What about Randle and McFadden? With Dez hurt, McFadden could play slot. I know he played QB, RB, and WR at Arkansas (BG can back me on this). What a weapon, but where is he? On the Giant's final drive, I was hoping they would just go ahead and score a TD to end it so I could go to bed and lick my wounds. Easier than sitting there thinking I still had a chance. But when the "D" held them to a FG and there was over a minute left, I sat on the edge of my seat and kept watching. I was cussing their time management on that last drive. Thank God for an incomplete pass. Am I the only one who thinks that last drive looked easy? Everything was wide open. I loved it and always like the look on Eli's face when he loses. I know the Giants could have run more clock than they did, but could they have run it out? Watching the recorded game now to see. OMG, that first drive.....the incomplete TD pass to Dez, that guy had him a round the waist so he couldn't jump. What a terrible no call. ok, give me some more facts while I watch my recording. oh yeah, the defense played well. Wait till we get Hardy and McLane. What's up with Gregory?
  21. Let's not forget the goal line stand forcing the FG.
  22. Wow....TD Dallas!
  23. This is a prime example why the starters should play pre-season games. If you get hurt, you get hurt. If you are not conditioned and ready to play, it shows.
  24. We were not attacked. Our buildings were in the way of the terrorists and we have since apologized. It was the politically correct thing to do.
  25. Announcers just said he is the only QB in history to throw 4 TD passes in the first half of his first game. Football is gaining on baseball for stats.
