MY LAST POST ON GILMER AND WO-S.i am NOT GOING TO KID MYSELF gilmer is one hell of a high school team no one can take that away from them just look what they have done to this point. gilmer has a outstanding and smart coaching staff as i have said before in some of my post i have put up. as dan hooks has said how do you stop a run away train(SMART ON FEAR DEFENSE) for starters and we here at wo-s has one of the best defense coaches around in coach thompson, he has been there and seen the best around .now then thompson is the head man and his mustangs have seen lot of very good teams in the playoffs and his mustangs will face maybe the best in gilmer.this game brings to mind the wo-s ,richmond foster game a team that had super kids all over the field you name it FOSTER had it as we saw that night.then this comes to mind ,if you watched the movie FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS this is what the mustang are going up aginst friday.gilmer is very GOOD in skill positions the boyd kid is something to be hold outstanding skills if wo-s cant stop gilmers screen passes going to be a long day but on the other hand if the mustangs play smart football who knows how this will turn out ,the scary thing is the kids from wo-s has not a thing to lose just go out and send gilmer a message. The stronger schedule debate is settled quite easily. WOS opponents were 113 and 66 with one tie. They faced exactly one team that did not play in postseason.
Gilmers opponents were 95 and 82. 9 opponents made playoffs. Yes for both i included the playoffs. They faced two 9 loss teams, two 7 loss teams, four 6 loss teams and three 5 loss teams.
WOS did play a 10 loss team but that evens with the two 5 loss teams Gilmer started playoffs against.
Every non district opponent for WOS made playoffs and one plays tomorrow.
That all is not opinion. These are all facts

Morning everyone. This sucks. Lol
I hope everyone made it home safely. I don't know I'll be able to watch the film of that punt return. It hurt me deep. Like in every game there are 4-6 plays that you can't have happen and they did tonight and when you are facing a high caliber opponent. My hats off to Jack Dallas. What an incredible talent for a sophomore. There were about 3-4 times when his feet got y'all important first downs on 3rd & long. I finally understood what other fans felt like when Tyler scrambles and you seem to have him and then you don't.
Ladybug33 - we have 11 kids on the field and while #10, 40 & 6 are special it is disappointing to read "after that not much else" especially when #4 torched your secondary on the 2nd play of the game. I thought our defense played a lot better than people expected them too.
Anyway my friends in Orange had nothing but good things to say about my Pirates. Icewater wish we had more time to talk. Enjoyed meeting you. Gasilla, his daughter & son-in-law, griff and the rest of the bunch...thanks for being so gracious. Save me 2 seats next week! I'll be there to root y'all on. Should be a dandy!

After seeing a few of the backgrounds on the list, I think I'm gonna apply. I'm not a football coach per se, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express once...

This statement coming from a PNG follower is one spoken by experience. You've seen it for the Indians in several past years (and decades). Every time a team from SETX gets to the 4th round or beyond, you see multiple school colors from SETX area teams represented. Unfortunately, it also means only one or two teams remain in the playoffs, so they can't be rooting for their home team. Mustang fans DO VERY MUCH APPRECIATE the show of support we saw vs. LaMarque and LaGrange from PNG, Nederland, HJ, LCM, Vidor, OF, PAM, Silsbee...fill in the blank. We hope more of you will come out tonight. Be careful driving in Houston traffic. The weather will be perfect for football!

Our first couple of state championship games the entire town was blue and silver, sorry, but it would be a crying shame and disrespectful to the kids if that is not the case should we be blessed enough to beat Sinton.

I think their qbs best attribute is how fast he gets rid of the ball!!!! He doesn't hold the ball long at all! But I think that's because the confidence he had in his receivers! He will have to be more tentative this week due to the lack of seperation between the receivers and our db's! I'm not too worried about him running due to his style of running (pretty much standing straight up) and not a quick, shifty guy! Should be a great game to see! I still think we have too many athletes across the board for sinton to handle but you never know. I believe our special teams could play a big factor in this game with our speed advantage!

From the video I have seen he is a good QB who likes to throw over the middle of the field a lot then tries to get you deep. I'd day he's is pretty accurate. I just didn't seen enough speed (though it's hard to see judge sometimes on film). They are well coached and will have some success over the middle of the field, I'd be surprised if they get to the outside like they would like. I think 30 plus on their defense and i'd be surprised if they  scored more than a couple of times on us. Hope it will be a great game.

Big props to the O-Line last night. They did an awesome job .

How could you pass on the guy from the BELIEVE IN GREATNESS SYSTEM?

Mustang fans are very appreciative for the community schools we saw representing last night. I spoke to a gentleman from Nederland, saw PNG purple, HJ had a whole section, fans from LCM, BC, Vidor...there may be more, but that's what I saw. For as long as I can remember, when a team from setx makes a deep run, fans from neighboring communities show up in numbers to support each other. It was the same when West Brook won state in the 80's, WO-S' '80's rides, PNG's run in '99, and a few others. Thanks for rooting on the local schools.

Proud of the Stangs! And gotta say, with each passing week, I can honestly say HJ is moving up in the poll in my head. As bad as some like to bash SETX, if you don't think 2 of the top 10 schools in this classification came from that district, you're crazy.

Teate is a great talent and finer young man. I feel for him. Others can and will step up, which actually may be to our advantage due to limited film on some on them. We will miss his game breaking ability. I think we kept it quiet long enough for the chicken ranchers gameplan to already be in and that is what they will start with. I expect they will try to shut the run game down anyways first (especially after last week). Both teams will have to big plays in the passing game to win. If they can totally shut our run game down it could be a long night for us, but I just don't think that will happen. Good luck Stangs.

I always like to play teams we never have met before.LG has my respect and their kids deserve no less.You guys better hurry up and get all your smack in because time is short.lol.Friday night football don't get any better than this.
