    Had 3 TDs called back.
They have plenty of issues on film to work on next week.

Congratulations to Coach Carter on his 1st win as a head coach and as a Patriot.
I guess GCM should have won 14-7 since 72-7 is not impressive enough.
Beat a bad team the way they should have. I guess New Caney says the same thing.
I bet Humble ISD does not apologize for beating up on  those teams to make the playoffs. Put GCCISD in the Pasadena district and let us print up some t-shirts.
    Ok. Time to move forward.

I think I read somewhere that there have been some Hardin RBs go off to play college ball. So if you.. I mean White.. aren't playing college ball anywhere right now then you..I mean he..aren't the best running back to come through Hardin ever for sure.

I would like to honestly know the percentage of athletes that transfer for Academic reasons. Bet it’s less than 10%.

Just read a letter on an Aggie website from the mom of the quarterback at Tomball blasting the UIL. The young man in question lives in that house and seems to have been living there a while. Everyone is blasting the forest brook coach who to me is the courageous one. Like I said earlier, HISD is fed up with their good players leaving for the burbs. Tomball s district schools voted 6-1 to NOT let him play, what do they know, probably the same that the Forest Brook coach knows. There are so many questions in this case, it is an easy decision for UIL to UPHOLD what Tomball s district already decided. Sorry, but RULES are RULES and in today’s society everyone is looking for a loophole. I love all Texas pro, college and high school teams, but rules must be followed.

It will be extremely interesting to see what the cutoff numbers will be. It would be nice to see all the GCCISD schools as a 5a. I think Sterling and GCM will be right at the cutoff 5a d1 and 6a. I guess time will tell.

Back on topic. So when is it ok for a school to say no this kid isnt cleared to transfer. For the past 6-7 years GCM has just let the kids walk out the door and go start for other schools not less then 20 miles away. Most if not all were for athletic purposes.

Lol. Football is a team sport. It’s not about the individual. When kids believe (and it’s typically because their parents believe) that they are more important than the rest of the squad, you end up with a bunch of Tate Martells, John Franklin IIIs, etc.
A kid that can’t commit to his high school football team will not commit to his college program, either.... if he even gets that shot. Same thing for the next level. A kid that can ball can do it anywhere. A kid who can’t will transfer, and transfer again and again every time they face adversity. He also won’t be able to commit to a job, a wife, his kids, or even his parents. It’s indisputable and can be proven with 100s of examples.
Grayland Arnold played on some really bad Kountze teams and is now at Baylor. He’s also one of the few that didn’t break his commitment to the Bears when Briles got the axe. That’s a kid with character who will be successful at life.

Younger generation is good with the transferring and all the bs.  I personally hate it. I get moving for jobs and personal reason blah blah. But in my worthless opinion it is ruining the integrity of football from PeeWee up.  I know my view will be the unpopular view but its how I see it.

Are you okay with mid-season transfers? What about mid-game? You cool with switching jerseys at halftime if it benefits your career?

I, too, remember the young man in question.  He was a key player in WO-S' trek to the state championship game in 2014 and transferred to the school in the Cy-Fair ISD for his senior year.
I also recall that Coach Thompson indicated on the young man's PAPF form that he was moving for athletic reasons based upon conversations with the young man's father that the move was to "increase college exposure."  I also recall that Coach Thompson was heavily castigated on social media (including a lengthy thread here) for doing so as he was accused of only doing so because he was "bitter" and "jealous" and "wanted to punish the young man" for deciding to transfer from WO-S.
The UIL does have in place rules to stem the tide.  However, those rules only take effect when coaches from these schools that are being poached do indicate like Coach Thompson did and DEC's give them the weight that the UIL says they should.  However, coaches see how folks like Coach Thompson were treated and figure it is not worth the trouble that they will bring for themselves (dragged through mud on social media, travel to Austin to testify in the kid's appeal, etc) OR they have the mentality of "If you really don't want to be here, I really don't want you here" and rubber stamp the PAPF form even if there is evidence of a move for athletic purposes.
Absent either tougher adherence to those rules in place or the UIL coming down with an across the board one year ban for varsity play.....which probably everybody here would agree is too draconian of a measure to put in place...this trend will only increase in frequency.

Also, I wonder how many of these kids that make it to the next level will wind up transferring to different universities when the going gets tough at the original one that they signed with?
