There are a few Warren posters on this site. Not very vocal as we've been down for quite a while..I've pretty much moved away from making comments and now mostly just post scores...I think the reason you see folks bashing on Hardin more so than Warren and Anahuac is because a few Hardin folks like to claim playoff spots starting in July..They also claim automatic wins versus teams like Anahuac, Warren, Kountze etc. even though Hardin has a historically lower win percentage than these schools..I pull for underdogs so I hope Hardin, Warren and Anahuac someday turn things around and all become contenders at least. Those kids and towns could certainly use it! 

Just exactly how much are you implying that teacher salaries will increase by saving 30-40K on a head football coach?  You realize that school districts employ a whole bunch of teachers, right?
There’s no question that education is of the utmost importance..but a school’s athletic program is usually the heartbeat of a school.  Extracurricular activities are the sole reason that a huge portion of students have a reason to be their best.  That includes keeping their grades up.  By saying that basically slapping the athletic department in the face so that the teachers can make a few hundred dollars (literally) extra per year is really how I see the problem with priorities in most area schools.  This area.

I literally copy and pasted a definition off of google to show that technically...what was brought up by someone else...was technically accurate.  Every week there are 25 games posted in the pickems.  That's 25 winners and 25 losers. See..does that statement mean that I just called 25 teams a bunch of losers?
I didn't call anyone a loser and this is stupid that this conversation is happening.

Competition is what spawns greatness. If things are just given to you, what is the incentive to work hard. 

I attacked them by saying that schools like Sabine Pass don't require much effort to make the team?... Maybe you're either delusional or don't understand mathematics.  If there are only 11 kids on a football team...everybody is a starter.  20 kids...there's a high liklihood of being a starter.  30 kids...a little tougher to be a starter.  So on and so forth...catch my drift?  So yes.  When there are few kids on a team...especially a on a bad team...everybody is probably going to letter in football.  I didn't call anyone a slacker, I just implied that they COULD BE at a school like Sabine Pass.
If you have a problem with that truth..I don't care.  Life's tough and sports is supposed to be one of the first lessons that there are winners and losers.  There are starters and people that ride the bench.  There is a varsity and there is a JV.  Kids need to learn that when 900 people apply for a job...there will be 899 losers. 

Sabine Pass is a district of transfer students with majority from Port Arthur so the demographics are not the same as other districts. Class sizes and boy/girl ratios vary year to year. Kids come and kids go.  If 5 sophomores boy leave they aren't necessarily replaced with 5 sophomores boys.Their athletics struggle 2nd to not having a feeder system or having an idea of who or how many of your players will return. They would like to have a solid football program but can't count on steady numbers. Now if they wanted to have a real program they would actively recruit athletes from Port Arthur like they do their scholars, recent  valedictorians: 2016 Columbia University admit, 2018 Bill Gates scholarship winner turned down MIT due to not offering degree plan for career they're aspiring too.

None of this discussion makes ANY sense to me.  THE LARGER SCHOOL got smoked. Newton is the SMALL school. If you’re the BIGGER school and get SMASHED...get BETTER.  If you’re the SMALLER school and have the opportunity to RUN IT UP....do it.  NEWTON - the SMALLER SCHOOL is not supposed to win vs the larger school, but wait...it’s NEWTON and they have 5-10 D1 players so now they are the BULLY?  Some of you  are what’s making this country pissy. No excuses...GET BETTER OR GO play another Sport.

Newton doesn't play against anybody in any sports regular season they think they might lose to. Just getting a taste of their own medicine if they can fill the schedule. 

Ah, but the Ozen folks might have a problem with Cougars. It's in the Central blood line (BCP Cougars)
