RaiderRed30 got a reaction from robanadana in Beaumont Central vs Houston C.E. King
So in order to get to the playoff venue, one school has to drive pass the other school? That makes logical sense. Even better being a Thursday night in South Houston.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in 2015 Preseason State Picks
Don't forget Vandergrift.
Cedar Park would have Tivy 2nd Round, Calallen 3rd, and Vandergrift 4th before getting to Crosby.
Crosby would have Texas City 2nd Round, Magnolia 3rd, and College Station 4th before getting to Cedar Park.
Looking at for Division 2, Region 3 might be the second easiest to get out of. Crosby has a lot better shot to the Semifinals than Cedar Park.

There is still one team that has as good of shot to beat Cedar Park as Crosby, but its all up to Burleson/Crowley.
Also Lake Ridge, forgot about them, if they go D1

Good doubleheader tonight on NBATV:
Thunder at Rockets - MVP hopefuls Durant and Westbrook vs. Harden
Grizzlies at Warriors - One of the best defensive teams vs. the best offensive teams inside the loudest arena in the NBA.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in UIL Snapshot Day
I'm answering my own questions:
5A is going to be log jammed. Don't be shocked to see Barbers Hill and Dayton be dragged east with Memorial dropping creating a 9 team district. West Texas has to have two districts with 13 schools. Fort Worth will be split into two, plus in DFW there is Heritage, Ryan, and Northwest are dropping. There is also a couple of new schools that will be 5A level. Houston is gaining Manvel.
6A is going back to 1 West Texas district opening up more room. The debate in 6A will be if Tascosa is given an exception to drop.

Everyone should no more about Permian this week when they face Central. As for a Trinity matchup, they should have homefield advantage. Ratliff on Thanksgiving Weekend sounds very inviting.

The more numbers I see, I keep thinking the 6A cutoff will be more than anyone is predicting. Everyone is larger than expected.
Most of the bubble 6As are staying around 2200.

It was at least closer than North Texas and Portland State.
North Texas actually won today, feel bad for UTSA.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in Ennis vs Lufkin crazy finish
Considering they beat Lindale tonight, I would say so.
Ennis is in the playoffs again.

I thought I read somewhere it will be the 30th. Wylie and Highland Park need some time straightening everything out.

If they are doing the same thing as last time, UIL should announce cutoff numbers in late November early December. If you know the number then you should be able to figure out the division then. I do not remember if they listed the schools in each division at that time or waited until the districts were announced in February.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in The Old Coach Week 10 State Rankings
If the discussion is about what is the toughest region as it was originally than Region I in 6A is hands down the toughest region and come playoffs is one of the toughest 5 regions or sections in the country. Trinity, Carroll, Allen and Cedar Hill are the only ones who have won because they have all ended the season in the top 10 in the nation. There's still Guyer, Desoto, Martin, Abilene, Permian, the Amarillo schools, Fossil Ridge and on and on. You put Desoto in another region the previous 3 years they would be in the state game. Even this year when Desoto has looked terrible, and they may barely make the playoffs, yet they only lost by two to Steele, the best team in Region IV. Region I is deeper than anywhere else.
If you are trying to make the discussion DFW vs. Houston, it is DFW. The Spring District had 3 teams in the regional finals, but that doesn't say anything about which area is better because outside of Skyline, DFWs best are in Region I. 6A is owned by DFW and because of growth it will be owned by Region I for a long time as more and more DFW schools are being placed there. Houston doesn't have elite programs. Outside of Katy and now Manvel there is no consensus on who is going to have a good team each year and be a program that is a threat to win state. Region III teams, Houston teams, make it to the state championship games every year because there are no good region IV teams outside of Steele and Judson. For DFW schools that are contenders their toughest games in the playoffs are weeks 2-4. 5 can be, and in D2 6 is, but for D1 playing a Houston school is basically just the parade game.

Yes, but all of Region III is Houston. The farthest a team has to travel is 100 miles. Compared to 400+ for Region I. And Cedar Hill is in District 8, ie Region I.

RaiderRed30 got a reaction from Mr. Buddy Garrity in The Old Coach Week 10 State Rankings
There are 9 ranked teams in Region III and 7 in Region I.
Out of those 7, six have won multiple state championships including the 3 time defending D1 Champ and back to back D2 Champ. Plus outside of the ranked teams Region I is deeper and more talented. There is not one district like there is with Houston ISD, where only one team has a chance of winning the first round. There is also the travel issue. To win in this region you are going to have to travel. Region III is entirely Houston except West Brook and Memorial. Finally the community, Region I is made up of communities that will travel better than anywhere else in the country. When it comes to the playoffs Region I will outmuscle any other region.

Oh, forgot Lumberton were the raiders. That's understandable. I'm from the Heart of Texas.

Seriously with the name RaiderRed?
No, the person is represents the Big 12 in the playoff panel is the AD of Tech. Tech is the very school that hates almost every other school in the conference.
Baylor. Check. TCU. Check. Oklahoma. Check. Texas. Check. Oklahoma State. Check.
Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State are the only safe ones.
