  1. Bridge City. That Qb for Bridge City is an excellent athlete. Can make throws and will drop his shoulder when he runs the ball. In my opinion, I do no believe that Buna can consistently stop Bridge City on offense and if that Bridge City defense shows up like they did last week, it should be another victory for the Cards. However, it’s tough sledding for several weeks for Bridge City after this game.
  2. Didn’t a former LCM head football coach named Todd Moody try to get out of that Orange Bowl game one time many years ago. He didn’t last long. However , LCM has played some good ball over the last few years. WOS regardless of last season is historically great in football. What a great win last week to come from behind against Nederland. This game should be fun and entertaining. You never know what can happen in a rivalry game. Orangefield had won the Bayou Bowl for a few years in a row, and this past Friday night the Cardinals played excellent defense shutting down the slot T and got that victory. Both stands were completely full. People love these type of games, and WOS vs LCM is a staple game on the schedule for fans each year. I’m picking WOS to win, but expect a close game.
  3. Tip of the hat to BC. Excellent job. They shut down the Slot T , refused to be pushed around by the Slot T like the Bobcats do to the Buna and Kirbyville small town teams…and Orangefield has horrible linebacker play. Got to fix that. Bad..real bad.
  4. Northbrook Football “got more problems than a math book.” However, a win is a win! Nice job for the Rangers in what should be a make or break year for that coaching staff. Next week begins to tell the real story. We shall see then. Best of luck to the Rangers.
  5. This is truly the game of the week for me. I’ll say PAM….but in a close one.
  6. Always hoping for the best for any coach especially those who have the pressure of being labeled interim. Tough profession…and an honorable one. I agree that snow cone business owner and AD/Head Football is not the best look, but if the guy needed the money , you know. Don’t know his situation, but you cant be leaving campus during work hours. As far as this season goes under the baseball coach (Landry). Let’s say we go ahead and give him wins against Buna, Hardin -Jefferson, and Liberty….just saying…Is a 3-7 season enough to solidify not going out and getting someone else? Is that enough to be satisfied with? Does anyone really feel like miraculous district wins are coming against WOS, Silsbee, HF, and Jasper or that they will defeat LCM or Lumberton in the preseason or even Orangefield. I wouldn’t think so.
  7. That’s good information there. Wasn’t aware of that, and yes I agree with you. Certainly suspicious.
  8. So everybody knows this guy is a jam up , excellent baseball coach. His record of success is proven. Has he done football at the varsity level in recent years? If so, I would understand this move. If not , I mean it would seem like BC could go with another member of the varsity level staff at BC to hold down the program until they found someone else to take over that role. I think someone on here spoke of this new OC they just hired that had been a head coach at Sulphur and served as OC and football coach at the junior college level. Wishing BC much success. From what I have heard it’s a great place to live and work, and again I will say that if Landry has been coaching football at the varsity level in recent years , then I understand this move….but if not, football is not baseball, and I would be a little uneasy. Best of luck to Coach Landry and BC. I know they will be great again in baseball. Best of luck in football.
  9. Thanks for the information. Good stuff.
  10. It’s a fun district to watch. Got some solid teams that make for some games that fans can really get excited about during the week. Think about WOS vs Jasper , WOS vs Silsbee , WOS vs HF, Silsbee vs Jasper….and there are more. These are games that fans look forward to and can talk about. I know it wasn’t great for WOS last year, but I look at them as a sleeping giant. You drive by that place and see that historic stadium where they have “crushed” teams for decades. They will be back.
  11. WOS is a staple for football success. Best of luck, and there is no way they miss the playoffs this year. By the way , did anyone hear where the Vidor OC Trahan went or who got the BC offensive coordinator spot ?
  12. Who got the Colmesneil Athletic Director / Head Football job?
  13. This makes perfect sense. You’re absolutely correct.
  14. Pulling for BH. Keep me posted. Thanks.
  15. How is Barbers Hill doing in softball playoffs? That’s a great program. Professional type facilities and good atmosphere.
