  1. It was a very good snowcone….lol, but unfortunately like snow cone season ends.. so does the season for the cardinals without a playoff birth.
  2. So that cools the possible Kirbyville district champ hype. Great win, Panthers.
  3. No surprise here. Bobcats are on the express train to another district title. Anahuac cooled the Kirbyville hype tonight, and it looks smooth sailing for the Bobcats. EC will be a good game. Regardless of what Kirbyville did to EC earlier, the Bucs won’t go out of the season quietly.
  4. Going with Anahuac. Give the ball to #5 for Anahuac. The player was carrying bobcats on his back and still running with good speed. The passing touchdown he caught in the end zone as well. Guy is a special talent. That’s #5 coach, lol.
  5. Another loss for the wolves. . I’m still in disbelief that West Brook could not score a point against them. Not one point. Rough!
  6. Vidor in a close one..going to be a great game. Could go either way.
  7. Exactly right. Couldn’t agree more.
  8. The guy from PNG that you were referring is Tip Durham….I think ? He was outstanding.
  9. I haven’t looked at the schedule , but I think this game is in Kirbyville with the Bobcats. Certainly worth a little gas money, and a three piece fried chicken at Jennys in Kirbyville to see that game.
  10. Yeah I definitely like the WOS guy announcing. Loud voice, doesn’t speak while the play is going on, and then gives an accurate recap of the action (after the play is over!). Last night at Orangefield while the play is going on, in the stands we were hearing “ to the 30, to the 25, cuts back left , makes two panthers miss, now to the 20….all while the play is going on. You could hear the dude breathing in the microphone while elevating his voice yelling out the exact action while the play was going on. He definitely doesn’t understand the difference between being an announcer and a radio analyst. His role is not the same as what Billeaud and his radio partner do for PNG. They are radio guys that do play by play.
  11. Apparently the same thing you are talking about is happening at Orangefield too. The group I sat next to last night was like “Oh man does this guy ever take a breath. “ we got the play by play while the play was going on including the announcer calling out “ the QB fakes the ball” while the play is going on. It was hilarious. However , the WOS announcer is very good. Like his style on the airway.
  12. Ahhhh…..Very true, sir. I like your approach of building up the matchup. Nothing like some anticipation for a good game. The wildcats are making some waves down there. Should be a good one for sure. Still gonna stick with the Bobcats winning it all…but that’s why they play the game lol.
  13. Great win by Orangefield. They will be district champs again. I see now why they fight so hard to stay in that district they are in. Anahuac will be #2. I thought they missed some major opportunities tonight like not letting #5 just be the guy every play. Terrible call and management on that last drive before halftime, and when the QB didn’t pick up the first down on 4th and 1 or 4th and 2, can’t remember…That was a critical miss. You could just feel that Orangefield was not going to be stopped the entire 4th quarter. Congrats to the Bobcats. They showed again that they own this district. Good luck to Anahuac the rest of the year and in the playoffs.
  14. This is a game. Both teams settling in. Anahuac came out on fire. However, Orangefield using the pass here and there and panther defense looks confused. Orangefield has stopped panthers on the last few drives. Surprised that Anahuac had some delay with less than a minute left in the half, and the play they called was a dive. It was a loss on the play and then they attempted a field goal, which was no good. Missed opportunity for the panthers. Great game.
  15. Wishing you success, Coach Bethea! Let’s get that “W”.
  16. Thanks for the information. I will be stopping there today for a plate.
  17. I think overall the coach at Sterling is a good dude, but this was the year where it was finally time to turn the corner and win some games, and I’m not talking about just defeating the other two Baytown schools which I don’t believe he has in recent years. Of course he gets the win against GCM. However , it’s no secret they pay him a huge salary to lead that program along with assistant coaches making more than 3A and 4A athletic directors around most areas of the state. You got a very young linebacker coach that pretends to know a lot more than he actually does, an older QB coach that has failed in getting the ranger QB to progress. He has had that player for nearly two years as a starter, and I’ve yet to see or hear the QB truly take another step, and this QB is an excellent athlete. I heard through the grapevine that several 9th grade coaches were promoted up this season when you had some varsity coaches from last year leave for another district or previous profession. One of those coaches was the d-line coach who was hands down the most knowledgeable coach on the staff. I heard that he was replaced by a 9th grade coach. You also lost one of the linebacker coaches who was the most popular coach on that staff and biggest inspirational motivator to those kids. He went back to another profession, I think he was a special agent or some fancy law officer title. His position was not filled leaving only one LB coach for this year. One LB coach in that size school..not smart. You also lost an o-line coach who was a true o-line coach and fit the identity of that position with his gritty approach. I also think they lost some more offensive coaches. Either not filled or filled with 9th grade staff. They did replace coordinators, but that hasn’t exactly worked out. Sure they were still bad last year, no arguing that, but this year they were an older team with higher expectations, and again Toomer has failed to meet that expectation. Anything is possible. They could turn it around and get a win against Crosby or LaPorte, but that’s not likely. I sure hope they do. Pulling for it to work out for them. I hate to see a program that loses consistently every year. At some point , if it doesn’t turn around, Goose Creek may want to look towards the future of Sterling and see if they can find another overall leader. I think 6 years of losing is enough.
  18. Definitely going to be a game worth seeing. Someone mentioned seafood plates in Orangefield. Is this KDans place near the school? Gonna have to get me some catfish before this one.
  19. West Brook was horrible last year, and looks like they are worse this year. Surely, some coaching changes have to be coming.
  20. I remember this game last year having a bunch of anticipation to it. Orangefield was supposed to be good and Anahuac was supposed to be good….and both teams did very well in district. Orangefield pulled it out. They are the incumbent district champs. They proved to the whole area last week that Buna was not ready to make the next step. I think Orangefield understands the path to winning in this smaller district. A couple of weeks ago , I would have said Anahuac. They got a good coach and good athletes. However , only 13 points on Hardin and Orangefield putting up 42 last week tells me the bobcats are back home in this district. They are after all the reigning district champs. Until someone beats them in this district, I can’t in good faith pick against them. Bobcats win in what I expect to be a district championship game and atmosphere Friday night.
  21. Sounds like a heck of a job by Hardin to use the clock that way. I was shocked as well that Anahuac only put up 13pts. They got what I believe , at least for now, will be the district championship game this week between Orangefield and Anahuac. I know last year there was a bunch of talk on this game between the bobcats and panthers, and the bobcats won. Be interesting to see how it unfolds in Orangefield this Friday night. Although a win by the bobcats against Buna was expected, it did show they understand how to win games in this district. I’ve heard some great things about Anahuac this year. They will need more than 13pts this week as the bobcats aren’t Hardin. Looking forward to seeing the outcome.
