  1. Hardin has a new home town coach and the boys are definitely in pretty good shape. As far as a weak schedule, I don't believe that is the case. Groveton always shows up to play and West Hardin is no laughing stock either. I take Hardin in this one. And for you Anahuac fans, you have no room to talk after Tarkington pretty much owned you in that scrimmage. . .better luck next year!
  2. So would you call transferring parents with talented athletes to a nearby plant in a particular attendance zone recruiting??? Because that is what Barbers Hill does and they are a public school.
  3. As for you . . . I don't know if you have checked the polls recently, or maybe you just don't know S*** about football or polls or anything else, but Kentucky is 3-0 and ranked 21st in the NCAA. Apparently they play more than basketball. (Open mouth - Insert foot)
  4. I don't know why you like to chase and comment me, but I am pretty sure someone who got beat by hardin bad as they did has no room to talk about teams having nothing.
  5. Ha Ha Ha come one now. . .any time you have to reach out in desperation for a girls track and golf coach from Splendora to get a full coaching staff I would say you're stretching it a little. I'm glad you all got fired up over that comment, but let's get real. . .3 AD's in 3 Years. I am not against Tullos and I hope he has a great year, but I just don't see it happening.
  6. Anahuac is gonna kill splendora. I have seen these guys play twice this year and there is no way Splendora can hang with them. They are big and fast and will walk all over the wildcats. Anahuac 35 Splendora 6
  7. Yeah cleveland is having a rough year with this new AD and relatively "NON-football" coaching staff. Good luck to the Indians, but I have Lumberton in this one.
  8. There is an exception to every rule and yes there are some 2A schools that would be competitive in a higher class. But let's get real here. . .those classes are there for a reason and that reason was not for the rare exception. Plus starter vs starter, may be a great comparison for classless football, but when you play a 5A and their 4th string is as good as your first. . .they are gonna wear you down in the 4th quarter.
  9. Key word there being "4-A". Get off your high horse and talk smack to someone in your own classification. I mean seriously your smack talking gets ridiculous sometimes. It's about as stupid as a senior talking garbage to a first grader. Play your own game and stay outta everyone elses!!!
  10. Not fast enough. . .okay. But not physical enough??? That is the absolute furthest thing from the truth. Good luck in the trenches.
  11. No matter how slow they might have started I'm gonna take Splendora in this one. I think they have what it takes too pull it off. The experience and the ability is definitely there. Mark one up for the cats.
  12. Vidor at Houston Jones (Thur.) Anahuac vs Hitchcock at Deer Park (Thur.) Beaumont West Brook at Spring Westfield Aldine Nimitz at Port Arthur Memorial Waller at Nederland Beaumont Central vs Houston Sterling at Houston's Delmar Stadium Houston Kashmere at Little Cypress-Mauriceville Friendswood at Dayton Huffman at Santa Fe Barbers Hill at Bellville Jasper at Newton Bridge City at Lumberton Orangefield at Splendora Cleveland at Diboll Coldspring at Houston Forest Brook Liberty at Stafford Crockett at Shepherd Woodville at Warren Tarkington at Buna Kountze at Evadale High Island at Deweyville West Hardin at Hardin Legacy Christian at Hull-Daisetta Colmesneil at Sabine Pass Beaumont Ozen vs Seguin at Clear Lake (Sat.) West Orange-Stark vs Bay City at Pearland (Sat.) Kelly at Houston Furr (Sat.)
  13. Let's not rule the horns out just yet, they have had a rough start plagued with some key injuries. Number 4 is not a bad QB just needs to find a groove. I say it's a close game. After all it's not as if Buna is as good as Corrigan Camden which was a 28 point loss. So whoever is expecting a 42 - 7 blow out has completely lost their mind.
  14. Splendora may be strong, but I just don't think they have the speed to hang with Woodville. I guess we will see. . .I have Woodville by 7.
  15. Andrew Kinery from Tarkington - rushed for 45 in the first half before suffering a leg injury (possible break). Not an extraordinary start, but I hate to see a player go down like this. Pray for this kid and his family.
  16. Nobody saw this one coming. Good luck in the remainder of your season. GO HORNS!!!
  17. I love the way BH people come off as if they are better than everyone else. CIVILIZED PEOPLE? LIKE YOU AT BH USUALLY DO? Too bad we will never invite Barbers Hill back to our school for anything.
  18. There is a parent out there who actually appreciates the job that coaches do rather than tearing them down from the bleachers??? Great post, keep it up, and I hope your good attitude spreads to all those around you.
  19. Everybody is talking about silsbee like they are all high and mighty. . .WRONG!! To me silsbee is like cleveland, they always have the athletes, but that's it. They are undisciplined and uncoachable and will always get beaten in the end by someone who plays strong defense and has a strict game plan. ~HJ or Jasper on top~
  20. Well honestly there are better players in the area than what silsbee has. Okay I will give it to ya silsbee was a regional finalist team. That shows that they mesh together well and play good team ball. Since basketball is a TEAM sport though I would have to say that where each team finishes over all doesn't always determine how good an individual player is. I would rather have a team that plays well than a single "superstar." My record would be better and I wouldn't have to kiss A**.
  21. I love the way that any topic about UT or A&M always turns into a rivalry battle. When overall nobody really cares about who beat who 20 years ago so the fact that you bring that up is stupid. I mean the Kingwood basketball coach didn't walk up to Duncanville this year and say "OH YEAH well that title was mine 2 years ago." History is great, but thats exactly what it is. . .HISTORY. So instead of arguing look at the CURRENT facts. Coach G. has done a great job at A&M and has brought them a long ways in 3 years. They have had 2 good seasons and THIS year they made it further than t.u. Those are the facts. . .and with that said, the topic of this thread has nothing to do with UT or A&M's previous basketball records. Get back on topic!!!
  22. His stock is high now, but I believe it would go up if he got a little thicker and alot stronger. There is always that possibility of injury, but I don't care how many points he scored this year he just doesn't have the build of an NBA superstar. He will not be as dominate as quickly as LeBron James was. He's a great scorer, but he's still built like a college freshman.
  23. I think that Durant has the game, but he's just not built for the NBA. Those bird legs of his would just get snapped in half by some of the stronger players in the league. I say stay at least one more year and hit the weight room. What is everyone elses opinion?
  24. Are you watching the NIT or what?!? The Big 12 had 2 schools in the Sweet 16, one of which lost by1 point from going to the Elite 8, as if that really matters, and one who is going on to the Elite 8. The overall issue here is not an argument between you and I over the superiority of the Big 12 vs the SEC. . .If you are going to put facts up for the entire world to see then leave your bias out of them. That is why they are called FACTS, because they can be proven. And if you are going to post facts then be dang sure you get them correct.
