  1. Yeah, and Nederland lost to PNG who Crosby beat by 40. Ned had their best night and Crosby has their worst, look at the last 11 games on their schedules. Two completely different matchup styles for FBM. Started to get a little incoherent at the North Shore part though.
  2. Crosby takes out 11-0 #5 ranked Texas High and backdoors it with a classic over 11-0 and #4 ranked Huntsville. Now we’re rewarded with 12-0 #3 ranked Fort Bend Marshall. Crosby is probably playing with house money at this point. Hopefully Dunn is healthy enough for us to have a real go at it next week.
  3. Crosby may be the first average team to play for the region since the last time they did it.
  4. Now Eazy, you mean to tell me after putting the grass down there where the goats could eat it you still ain’t have a score? You’re a Huntsville fan but have been on Crosby basically all year, which I appreciate. Problem now is that your heart says Hornets but all the numbers say Crosby. Crosby’s offense has started to play like 2013 and the defense has started to play like 2014, basically a dream scenario as a Crosby fan. I think after knocking off Texas High Crosby has a more favorable matchup than Ned does in the regional semis.
  5. Didn’t you say I was stupid because you thought I was from Barrett Station or something like that earlier this year? Stupid as I am they might be playing PNG? 🖕🏾
  6. Manvel is probably going to win by 20 this time. Hightower’s defense gives up too many points to athletic teams and Manvel has been rolling up 500+ yards of offense like nothing.
  7. Montgomery had a better offense than Nederland and just lost by 20. They were right at 5,000 total yards through 12 games split evenly at 2,500 passing and rushing. Take into consideration they had FBM and Huntsville’s defenses on their schedule, also dropped 52 on Crosby’s defense. Looks like Montgomery had 391 total yards on 60 plays, 196 passing and 195 rushing. Don’t see any turnovers unless they were on special teams? Montgomery’s defense was about a TD worse than Nederland’s on the year though. Kind of surprised FBM was about to still beat Montgomery by as much as they did with Montgomery playing so well. The talk of FBM fading may have been premature. Good luck though, I’m looking forward to a rematch after we take out Huntsville.
  8. As a Crosby fan I’m feeling pretty good about our chances. Can’t have the turnovers and penalties we did against TH but we need to find a way to bring all of whatever else that was in Nacodoches to The Woodlands. I don’t think Huntsville has the same offensive firepower as TH. They’re only averaging about 31ppg offensively through the first couple of rounds which is right in line with their regular season average of about 35ppg. Looking at their schedule, Crosby should have the best defense Huntsville has seen this year. The Hornets will have the best defense Crosby has seen this year except for maybe Manvel, who blew us out. The difference in Manvel and Huntsville’s defenses is that Manvel doesn’t have anybody like Ed Bobino to destroy the interior of your offensive line. There’s even a bright spot there for Crosby as some of the same kids got to line up against him last year as well as the staff game-planning for him. Kind of feels like the first one to 30 may win this one.
  9. Crosby gets an opportunity for a rematch against the team that ended their 2019 season. After taking out #5 Texas High in convincing fashion they have the fortune of playing #4 Huntsville. Crosby is averaging 64ppg through the first two round while the Hornets didn’t give up a point through the first 7 quarter of the playoffs. There were a lot of question marks with the strength of Texas High’s 11-0 record, there shouldn’t be any about Huntsville’s 11-0 record.
  10. Just watching the game it doesn’t look like Pine Tree will score a meaningful TD.
  11. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Same place Crosby beat Brenham in the third round the year they went to the semis. Hate we didn’t get NRG, U of H or Rice for seating purposes though.
  12. With an average team like Crosby able to drop 60 and donkey stomp Pine Tree’s district champion you would have to think Ned should win this game by 30 since Texas High beat Pine Tree 44-0 in district play?
  13. Welp, rematch with Huntsville one round later.
  14. Well, Longview definitely has prospects more sought after than Branch and Dunn. I’m just not sure TH has seen a supporting cast better than the one those two have in actual game action though.
  15. TH hasn’t give up more than 24 points all year in a single game. Crosby has 35 at the half and probably could’ve had more. I’m sure they’re surprised right now, may be looking at film of the Longview scrimmage to see what the issue is?
  16. I think Crosby needs 56 points or a couple of turnovers to be safe. . . . . Or the defense to play the second half the way they did the first one. Hard to remember a better 24 mins Crosby has played in recent years.
  17. They’re not 11-0 for nothing. Need to continue to play solid football. They way we play we’re very conducive to comebacks. Code Red looking very Code Red-ish so far though.
  18. Odd response but 👍🏾
  19. Man, going all the way through the current regional brackett Crosby gets #5 Texas High, #4 Huntsville and #3 FB Marshall if they cleaned out their side. I think FBM is down speaking comparatively to the last few years so it won’t surprise me at all of Montgomery beats them this week. If Crosby would’ve taken care of their business you’re talking about the normal first round layup from HISD, a Pine Tree team who’s already had a 10–10 tie with Kennedale and been shut out 44-0 by Texas High, then you possibly get a Montgomery team you’ve already beaten this year before you would have to even deal with Huntsville in a regional final. Smh. On the bright side, if you can beat Texas High and Huntsville you’re probably winning the next two games also. Log way off though. Just disappointing Crosby has put themselves in this situation so often when given the opportunity not to be in it. With the split watering down the playoffs the team playing from the first place position is almost sure to go to at least the third round every year.
  20. The more film I watch on Texas high the more I get the impression they’re a less good version of Huntsville. Defense isn’t as good but the offense may be slightly better because of Smith? I think Crosby will have a bunch of opportunities to hit some big plays on the outside, but they of course have to be made. The matchup I want to see is Smith trying to run down Branch. Players like Smith are what we were hoping to help neutralize when when we signed Branch out of our farm league(GCCISD).
  21. As long as Angleton doesn’t get corona’d out of another season again next year their district is going to be even stronger. Without the COVID situation that kept hitting their program they probably finish a very close third behind Foster. Manvel won’t be as good because they lose their qb but both of those rbs are juniors. They probably won’t move up either, they can add 200+ kids and still not hit the cutoff. Crosby has been growing between 60-100 kids per alignment, 100 more would put us right on the cutoff number which I think will go up so we probably have at least two more years in D2. Paetow will almost for sure be 6A. I read somewhere they’re going to already be over capacity by 2023. Katy ISD gave the kids from the neighborhood their own school and may have created a west side version of Westfield, just with a little better academics. Hightower is hit or miss and may not even make the playoffs but they have those Mo City kids and you see they don’t have an issue lining up with anybody from 9-5A. I think they’ll be more on the miss side though.
  22. It’s hard to tell how good they are because there’s zero flash to anything they do. Take into consideration that C.E. King played Atascocita closer than they played Huntsville on the scoreboard. King scored almost twice as many points against North Shore’s defense as they did against the Hornets. King dropped 66 on Beaumont Westbrook in a blowout win, they scored 12 on Huntsville. Now, to you point about them not seeming dominant they only scored 25 points in a 12 point win over Montgomery while Crosby dropped 55 on them. Montgomery also scored 52 points on Crosby compared to 13 on Huntsville. Your offense doesn’t have to have dominant numbers if people just can’t score against you.
  23. Their offense isn’t as good as it was the last couple of years when Matt Southern wasn’t hurt. Southern was the coach’s son and played very Haynes King-ish in terms of just always making the right decisions. Their offense does look more athletic than last year but I just think that’s because how their new qb operates. That defense is filthy though. Those two interior linemen just destroy so many plays before they ever get going. I think their overall team is better than last year but if you have a qb that can buy a little time and some receivers that can get down the field they’ll give up some plays on the outside. Does BH have that though, considering their qb will have a lot less time to operate than he even did against Crosby?
  24. Just to be clear, when you say “. . . hung with Longview. . . “, you’re taking about a scrimmage, correct? IDK about Smoaky but we don’t count those on this website.
  25. Nobody said Marshall was as good as last year. That’s why they went .500 and missed the playoffs. The point was they ran through that district last year and got hammered in the first round. TH struggled for three quarters with LC who gave up over 40ppg in their three district losses. I haven’t see anybody say Crosby is unbeatable either. Your earlier comment works both ways. Y’all don’t have a handle on what Crosby is or isn’t either.
