  1. Crosby travels down to Ken Hall Stadium in Missouri City to play the Buffalos Friday night. Oddly it will be the first time the two played outside the confines of Harris County. Crosby took a revenge beating in the opener for all the ones we gave CEK when they were in our district and FB Marshall beat 6A Klein High 21-15 on a ten yard fade route in OT. Crosby will be looking for a bounce back performance before district play starts next week and FB Marshall looking to avoid a 3rd straight loss to the Cougars.

I got King in a close one. Allen hasn’t been the same the last few years. Hell since Murray left actually.

Lot of people forget that Allen won 30 straight from ‘17-‘18 before losing to Duncanville in the semis in ‘18. Terry Gambill went 65-4 in his five years at Allen before they hired Chad Morris and now Lee Wigginton.

King is good but only because they have great athletes. Outside of them blasting Shadow Creek a couple years ago and beating Summer Creek in district play I can’t remember one team they beat with comparable or better athleticism lately? Maybe FB Ridge Point if you want to put them on that level? King’s offense isn’t that good against teams they can’t line up and play bully-ball on. I don’t think they’ll be able to do it to Allen and because of that I think Allen will win by several scores.

Late in the playoffs? First you have to get to the playoffs 👍 I hear ya, but still do not think playing teams you can’t get within 5 TD’s of is useful. Maybe y’all put North Shore on the schedule for next year with that logic no one will touch you in district. Mag West allowed us to play a competitive team with good coaching and kids which will be more than likely what we will see in district. You play teams that test you not embarrass you.

We’ve missed the playoffs once in 18 years now under our 4th head coach. Playoffs are the base expectation for Crosby. We’re going for a win or share of our 7th district championship in the last 10 years, we’re trying to win our 4th regional final in that span and make our 2nd title game appearance. The last thing Crosby should be doing is taking advice from BH who has one district title the last 15 years. Obviously what y’all do doesn’t work.

Go tell Jason Todd and his two titles that he’s an idiot for playing Duncanville because he lost 41-3 and could’ve lost 63-0 if Samples felt like it. Tell him he should be playing Grapevine instead because that’s how y’all do it in BH. At the end of the day BH doesn’t play high level non-district games because one, because nobody respects you enough to put you on the schedule and two, y’all are scared to lose them. Y’all are still on the everybody should play and feel good about themselves tip. Crosby is trying to win so we’re going to play winners, especially when we have to play teams like that in a few years.

  4. I’m assuming CEK’s QB is eligible now or that he’s playing the non-district games? Allen worked them last year but their 4️ QB transferred to Frisco Emerson. They just lost to Desoto by 30 in the opener so maybe CEK has a chance to keep it respectable this year. Tough to make a four hour ride to that kind of environment and be expected to come away with a result.

Getting drug up and down the field doesn’t prepare you for anything. Finding teams you can compete with does. Doesn’t  matter what your record is once district begins ,but playing teams way over you skill level gets you nowhere

Playing teams like Magnolia West in non-district does 0 for Crosby. They’re not going to be a factor to win anything and they don’t have the personnel or coaching that you look for to get you ready for the teams you have to beat late in the playoffs.

Playing teams where you know you’re out-manned tests your level of physicality, execution and fortitude. Are you physical enough to compete, can you execute within narrow margins and when it gets tough out there who really wants to play? Saw some physicality, King probably got more players hurt than we did. Executed light years better than last year, even with returning a QB responsible for 50 tds the year before, and the kids played hard to the last whistle.  In Crosby and CEK’s case we’re also seeing where we need to be in a few years to compete in district play.

SOC has been playing Duncanville in non-district the last four years. SOC has no chance but in those games SOC has become a little more and more competitive, it’s definitely helped them in later games during the season.

  6. Forgot to mention that last year’s 22-6A MVP was undoubtedly ruled eligible before the game? #1 was Darius James, CEK may be willing to forfeit some non-district games if necessary? You can see him on the plays below. Interesting to see if he makes the first district start too? After watching Longview and Timberview this week I don’t think we’ll see any other QB as athletic as him on the schedule. FBM played two QB’s in their opener against Klein and while both are solid I don’t think they’re the caliber Jordon Davis was last year.

BH only scored 10 last year and BH only brought back 3 starters than they did. No one thought this would be a blow out either way😂. Could be worse we could have lost by 5 scores from a team that only returned 3 starters with a Soph QB. How embarrassing would that be?

I surely didn’t think it would be a blowout, just using your returning starter theory. Magnolia West isn’t very good which is why they’re picked 4th in their district again this year but y’all aren’t either. I really couldn’t care less about how BH looks right now, I just figured I’ll make a post in one of y’all’s thread since you’ve cared enough to make about 100 in Crosby threads since the offseason and year started. Good luck, y’all will definitely need it this year

  8. Kade Eudy dropping it in the bucket all night. Somehow we catch this one and walk away with no points after having 1st and 10 from the 15 and a TD drop on another perfectly thrown Eudy pass. Nice to see us make some plays on both sides of the ball against this caliber personnel. Particularly thought the o-line played better than expected considering Langley was out.

If the C.E. King QB is a sophomore,Crosby does not need to have the Panthers on next years Schedule. He's a good one. Can't be a 5A team and play a 6A team with 3 of your better players not playing.Just Sayin'

I think maybe you play Heights, Dobie, Deer Park, etc., someone of that caliber. You need to play someone that’s bigger and more athletic than you in the trenches to get a real test of where you’re really at and playing up is the easiest way to do that. You can play someone like Kingwood or Humble but they don’t have the coaching you need to face. I’m not sure about last year but I think this year it’s going to benefit us from having that game on the schedule.

We played mediocre even for this being our fist time out under the new staff. That being said we would’ve beaten a WHOLE bunch of teams tonight who didn’t have personnel the caliber of CE King. Not sure that would’ve been a good thing because it probably would’ve given us a false sense of where we really are/were.

  10. Big margin but felt a lot better than last year. Gave up a safety on a snap over the punter’s head and thee tds on fields 30 yards or shorter. Even with all that we’re 1st and 10 from King’s 15 yard line with an opportunity to cut to a 2 score game with about 2 mins left in the 3rd quarter.

The big difference between 5A and 6A is the line of scrimmage and we got beat there as expected but still looked a lot better than last year, and that’s with your RT who came into the season with 26 career starts out. As expected with learning a new offense we also had numerous pre-snap penalties, several of them being drive killers. We had some mishandling of the football along with incorrect assignments as expected. What we shouldn’t be having are the drops, particularly the wide arse open ones for touchdowns. We cost ourselves two tds and 2/3 other first downs that may have led to additional scores. Eudy’s numbers are going to look mediocre but it’s not because he wasn’t putting it on the receivers facemasks.

What was nice to see for a first game was the way we did execute the new system on certain drives and the low amount of defensive penalties. They gave up a big number tonight but the offense helped an awful lot with the drops, penalties and spotty execution in general.

Unfortunately we lost a receiver to a broken collarbone for a while and one of the starting safeties went out in the second and didn’t return. Kid was having a nice game up until that point. Fortunately we look to have more depth this year.

I think there’s a lot of Crosby fans who watch the game tonight and feel pretty good about our prospects this year. We need to stay healthy which we’re not off to a great start at, but if we can I think we’ll be a problem by November.

  11. Not really surprised by this one at all. Listening to the Longview fans about their issues not being able to throw the football yet and facing a team that went the 3rd round in 6A-D2 playoffs last year, that also boasts a 5️ safety and what I think is the most NFL running back in the state you might’ve thought this was more probably than possible.

When Crosby is winning I think that it leads to everyone else getting interested because either A) they like to support the region (PNG, PAM, Beaumont Fans) or  They really hate Crosby (Vidor, BH, Nederland, used to be Dayton.) So i'd be willing to bet that Crosby being good does wonders for the engagement levels of this website at the very least.

I think Crosby draws a lot of random engagements to the site when we’re winning but we’re still kind of adopted. For instance, if we somehow beat CE King tomorrow it’s going to be a lot bigger deal to us around beltway and the Houston high school shows than it will be in this coverage area.

Crosby definitely has the advantage in the parent analysis column. Not sure how that shakes out in the W/L column though.  Coach Willis should give you a headset 14.2

Joe Cauthen, who's the DC at Utah State now, gave me an opportunity to be a GA. Just couldn't see the benefit in working for free at that time. I often wonder what could've been? Crosby alum Aston Walter went the GA route and is now the assistant RB coach at Tennessee. Probably going to making north of $300k once he loses the assistant title, rather that be at Tennessee or some other school.

  14. Must’ve gotten some bad analysis from my inner-city guy? I’m 50 plays into the CE King vs Westfield scrimmage film and CE King is kind of dominating both sides of the ball. The RB is smaller but better than the one they had last year and the o-line may even be a little bigger. Westfield has a stud RB committed to Rice but I will say, by no means is Westfield’s offense a thing of beauty which is often the case and the reason why they don’t have multiple state titles.

For the Crosby fans that saw the Lamar scrimmage they have a TE that’s just as just as big and fast and just as good, if not better than #41 for Lamar. Just saw him go up and catch one in double coverage then leap over a Westfield defender for about a 35 yard gain.

CEK’s starting QB on this scrimmage tape is ridiculous. Probably 7/10 for about 140 yards, 1 TD and 1 int halfway through. One incompletion is a throw away, one incompletion is a perfectly thrown drop to a wide open receiver and the other is an int in the end zone where the Westfield defender went about 10ft in the air and picked off what otherwise would’ve been a beautiful TD pass. What I’m hoping is that the starting QB on this film is the ineligible guy though, noticeable dropoff in arm talent to the #2.

On defense they’re huge on the d-line again and pretty much in general. D-line doesn’t look as athletic as the guys last year but they do have what looks to be a stud DE. Again, I think Westfield’s offense is helping them out some but this will be our first time running these new plays in a game. If the Lamar scrimmage is any indicator we’re going to have to do a lot of improving just for kids not to be arguing in the huddle about calls and where to line up. New offense seems a lot more complicated than the old ones but hopefully that makes them harder to defend once we get it figured out.

I know in Crosby there are several new subdivisions going along 2100. And there are several that will be going along 90.

The huge Sweetgass Village subdivision going in on 1942 is what's going to make or break Crosby in 6A. If it ends up being more Pine Trails than Sterling Green than I think we're going to be fine. If it's the opposite then we could end up with an enrollment over 3,000 and hardly any additional football players which would put us in a real bind.

    3-5 years prediction

( 21-6A) BH ( about to boom) Crosby (about to boom),North Shore, Atascocita, CE King, Summer Creek, Humble, Kingwood, Cleveland

    LaPorte back to 22-6A

(8-5A) Dayton ( about to boom), Porter, Lee, Sterling, GCM, Kingwood Park, West Fork

(5A-D1) Galveston Ball, Friendswood, Manvel, Iowa Colony, West Brook, United, Port Arthur Memorial , Angleton

(5A-D1) Kempner, Magnolia, Magnolia West, Terry, Foster, Rosenberg Randle (new), Rosenberg Tomas (new)

    Fulshear to 6A

When La Porte goes back to 6A I think the only difference in what you posted is that Cleveland would stay in that Conroe district and it would be Kingwood Park that moves to 21-6A with the rest of Humble ISD. I would imagine with West Fork opening and taking a bunch of enrollment from Porter High that if NCISD redraws the attendance zones they'll probably shift some of the kids from southern part of New Caney High's attendance zone to Porter High meaning NC back to 5A for a little while.
