If you were to take your district to play a game against another district...who would the starters be?  THAT'S 1ST TEAM ALL DISTRICT!  And their backups are 2nd Team.  OF THE 1ST TEAM LIST...the best kid is MVP.  That's the kid every coach would pick first if they were drafting a team from the district.
It's gotten so watered down it's pathetic.  I assume they started adding kids to the list to keep people from getting their feeling hurt...well...looks like people are getting all butt hurt anyway.

To win you have to score more points than the other team.

Well I've been trying to explain since the time my account was created the reasons the rest of the state is leaving setx behind.  Especially in football and education.  Especially since my previous post was to a WOS fan.
It's simple.
Money = high quality coaches, high quality teachers, more coaches, more coaches that have fewer or no classroom assignments, nicer facilities (venue/weight room/locker rooms/ library/etc..) which attract families/players, players in summer speed/strength camps, 7 on 7 summer tournaments (sponsored), personal training.  It's a slow process but money can and does buy wins.  
Typical setx attitude is "well this is how we did it in 1980 and it's good enough".
There are always exceptions...but for the most part look at ALL football state champions over the last decade, and look at their facilities, coach's salary, average household income in school district...  Like I said, there are some that don't necessarily apply.  But it is no coincidence that the same schools/areas are making deep runs every year in football.

Well it's probably definitely warmer than Minnesota.  But it was still in the 30s when I walked out the door this morning.  Which I love... So depending on your definition of "warm weather" you may or may not be surprised.  Personally I would be fine with a low of 30 and high of 65 every single day of the year.  But that's me..

Newton beat WOS last year.  Does that mean Newton couldve played in the state championship game in 4AD2?  Well I don't think that's what it means...but by your logic of comparing scores I guess it's possible.
I've been saying since I created my account that yes...setx has tremendous players.  It's obvious by the countless kids playing in FBS and FCS every single year.  I've also said...then why is setx not winning more against other areas of the state?  Well I have a good idea, but the concept seems to be an alien idea to setx fans.  People keep saying "we don't have to have what they have, or do what they do, and we still win".  Well....locally. 
I could honestly care less who wins this game.  I'm not from here.  I'm not from Carthage.  I have no ties to either place.. I live down here because of work.  I stay down here because of the fishing and the food.  Who will win?  I have no idea.  But, I honestly think Carthage will win...because the last decade or so East Texas just seems to keep doing so.  Some of you say cocky and arrogant... I just think it's attitude and expectation.  Some of you say recruiting..I say attracting.  No matter what you call it...it's winning.  I won't think otherwise until I'm proven wrong.  Here's your chance Silsbee.

You really think this  makes a good point for whatever you're trying to argue?  Because....technically..  this makes matters worse for you.  Carthage is still winning state championships WITHOUT pro players.  What's your excuse now?

The more I think about it...the more I realize..  Even with all of these #1 rankings and 30+ win seasons...the area doesn't really bring home any hardware in basketball either.  Not for a while anyway.  Accept ion...Yates maybe.  Most highly recruited school in all of greater Houston.  Lol.    I mean...without a doubt the best team in the entire area for it's class (Big Sandy) lost the state championship last year to a bunch of medium sized football players.
Makes me realize even more than there is a lot of "I'm not as good as I think" going on around here.  Makes me lean more and more towards Carthage.

It doesn't matter.  Not at all.  Like I said..I'm curious because I was unaware that such a facility was accessible.  Only a very small handful of indoor practice facilities that I even know of..one of which including the area professional team.
Just curious...and I don't know why anyone would care where Silsbee is going to practice in the even of inclement weather. Are you afraid someone might watch? lol..  Surely you know that Carthage probably has every minute of game/scrimmage film on Silsbee for the whole year.

Gonna throw shots huh?  Well for your information I've seen it.  In fact I've seen several indoor practice facilities.  Even at high schools. Because unlike most of the people that post here (obviously) I've been north of Hwy 7 and west of Interstate 45.
Maybe it should get posted...not for my sake tho.  All of setx needs to go on a field trip.  But if they can't...well I guess pictures will work.

I don't guess you understood what I meant.  Shocker.
You see...if there is bad weather this week, Silsbee's practice plans will be affected.  Like if it rains.  Or is really cold and nasty.  However, Carthage will not be impacted whatsoever.  You see...they'll get to practice as long as they want to.  So when Silsbee is in the film room, or locker room watching film.  Carthage will actually be on a full size football field practicing execution.  Along with every other day this entire season that Silsbee may have missed practice or had a shortened practice due to the elements.  So whether or not the game is played indoors doesn't really matter...preparation time will come into play.
Was that more understandable? 

One of THE main differences between some places and SETX.  Like I've said for a long time on here...
And speaking of bonds making a difference..  Will there be nasty weather at all this week Silsbee?  Well there won't be for Carthage.  They'll get to practice all they want to...because they have a 100 yd indoor practice facility.  You think that doesn't make a difference then you're just clueless.
