I was honestly just curious. In my mind, it wouldn't have made sense to have made the All-State team but not make the All-Region team before doing so.

How do you make the All State team...but didn’t make the All Region team?? I don’t think I’ve seen that before. Unless I’m reading it wrong but I’m pretty sure Silsbee had 2 kids on the All Region team.

Maybe there weren’t any applicants...

When you only give up 32 in a basketball game you’re supposed to win. But to be fair...only giving up 28 is even better.

Is there a list of applicants?

Too late I'm afraid. Or maybe not...

I do love some ice cream. But I was thinking more along the lines of taking what was given to me and selling for half price ;)... Sorry. I'm an ol horse trader from way back. Business minded first.

Will this be a "campus coordinator" type position as well? Like an AD for the new school? Or strictly head football?

Where do I apply? No salary necessary.

Must've missed a PAT.

Yep ^^

What a shocker. Wonder who the next 2-year coach will be. #RevolvingDoor

Blowout games don’t help anyone unless you want to rest your starters. If that’s the case just have a light practice and save time and money. EC hasn’t had a close game in a while..they’re gonna wish they’d played one to remember how to win a close one.

Makes zero sense to play a team in a lower class that didn’t even win their district. Meanwhile.. I saw that Kountze is getting drilled by Jasper. Probably would’ve been a couple competitive games if EC/Jasper and Ktze/Broaddus. If we’re really looking for a true warmup/preparation game that is.

Northshore, Westbrook, LaPorte (lately but not next year), Deer Park...I think it's a step down. Nobody is saying it's a guarantee of success. But getting to play schools with a lot less of a pool to draw from will benefit any school. Especially in football.

Is there any school in the state that wouldn’t benefit from moving down a classification?

There is a big difference in the classes in high school football/baseball. Not as much in basketball but a good football team in their class will likely get beat pretty badly by a good football team in the next class up. Happens more often than not.

I thought it would happen this last year but I think Liberty's running out of steam. Gut feeling. I think Silsbee wins that one.

Sometimes we make Texas toast when we grill steaks. It's pretty good.

I'm no longer surprised...nor do I care what California does. As far as I'm concerned they don't represent the rest of the country in any way. The Cali conservatives need to get out of there before it's too late.

I thought that's what you meant I just wanted to double check. But yes I'll put trust in the college football programs that they've gotten an offer from that they were chosen, for a reason, out of the kids in the area.

ALL of those kids?.. I'm talking starters. Or are you referring to the kids at Newton with D1 offers? Because that's easy to compare. Yes if they have a D1 offer and no other kid at their position does then they would start over them. But if you're talking about the other kids at Newton that just happen to be starters then we'll definitely have to agree to disagree.
