1. I think he gets in - but not on the first ballot.  Would be nice for he and Biggio to go at the same time.
2. Dodge MADE (past tense) that much at UNT.  However, he is currently unemployed and those unemployment benefits only go so far.  He'll probably get some better offers but you don't know unless you ask.  And the worst he can tell you is no.
3.
it's funny how ya'll can talk about kids like that. How can you say he is not that good when he turn the program around ima laugh at you allcause all ya'll are doing is being jealous cause ya'll couldn't live ya laugh
Dude - learn the English language.  With no punctuation I have no idea how to read anything you post on here.
4.
I admit I'm not an Astros fan, but didn't you guys have a young SS coming up? Manzella or something?
He's Adam Everett - nice glove, no stick.
5. I like the Barmes pickup - he could actually start at SS for this team and be a solid contributor.  Paulino seems to be another Tim Redding - amazing stuff, no ability to contain it. I am optimistic about the future - if McLain lets Wade do his job.
6.

So we have the worst rushing offense in college football, one of the worst defensive lines in FCS play, our QB has turned the ball over more than 20 times in 10 games, our offensive linemen and defensive linemen are outmatched every week and we have a trick pony offense.  Yet we are probably going to finish the season with 5 wins!  Sounds like Coach Woodard needs an extension if he can win five games with the clustermess that he had to work with his first year.
But those 5 wins come against: Webber International SELA Langston South Dakota OKPU (Probably) 2 legit wins. I don't think any coach who can only beat sub DI teams gets contract extensions. The SELA win would be more impressive if they weren't 2-8 on the season or USD which is 4-7. I actually don't remember how many wins I predicted for Lamar, I wanna say that I had said 4, the three against sub D-I comp and 1 against either Ga State or USA.
Leave it to a Sam fan to not see the sarcasm in a post and point out some weakness in an otherwise fictitious argument.  ;)
7. So we have the worst rushing offense in college football, one of the worst defensive lines in FCS play, our QB has turned the ball over more than 20 times in 10 games, our offensive linemen and defensive linemen are outmatched every week and we have a one trick pony offense.  Yet we are probably going to finish the season with 5 wins!  Sounds like Coach Woodard needs an extension if he can win five games with the clustermess that he had to work with his first year.
8. Awesome - I can't make it into town all that often for a game.  This will give my 4 yr old son and I a chance to see the games.
9. I have seen improvement almost each week in the defense.  the defense is much better than they were at the begining of the season.  As for the offense - no improvement.  Still cannot run the ball to save our lives and our QB play has been atroscious.  Prewitt may be the upswing needed for the QB play.  It would not disappoint me or even seem inappropriate to revist the OC job after this season. Having said that, I think the best way to recruit to any program is to show the recruits continuity.  If they believe that the guy recruiting them is going to be there four years later, the visit and the speil is much more effective.  For that reason - among others- I would give Coach Woodard at least three years.
10. Hipster - I'm sorry but in that post I simply cannot decipher what your question is - or if you indeed did have a question.
11. Wooten - I think you bring some knowledge and insight to the board and you do it with a whole lot less condescension than TT does.  I enjoy your posts even though I don't agree with all of them. I thought the Cards played much better Saturday than they have of late.  I am excited to see what the boys can do the last couple of home games.  Also excited to see what Coach does in the off season. Go Big Red!!
12. Same thin happened to Craig Biggio's wife in Chicago in 05.  Ozzie Guillen was livid after the fact.
13. Only problem with your argument is that Lamar is not a Division II football program.
14.

The BOX SCORE??? Terror is an idiot for pointing out the box score.  No one cares about that.  The Cowboys look better in the box score every week yet they are 1-3.   Puddin Tane..........I am not shocked with all you have said.  You love to find the negatives even in a win.  Very sad!!! And to answer your questions......... -only compliment -Our offensive line struggles which generally happens in a first year program -Our offensive line struggles which generally happens in a first year program -kicker was hurt and had already missed an extra point -I am sure this is a coaches fault.  Complaining about the secondary yet they didn't score -again complaining about the defense yet they didn't score -the kicker was hurt We hold a team scoreless and you find a way to complain about our pass defense and run defense.  A mystery to me! there Puddin Tane, feel better?
Sleepy: -We were playing LANGSTON! -We were playing LANGSTON! -We were playing LANGSTON! -We were playing LANGSTON! -We were playing LANGSTON! -We were playing LANGSTON! -My Mom could get a full ride to LANGSTON!
No she couldn't - NAIA schools don't give athletic scholarships
15. Football is great for the community and the campus.  Quite honestly, after a 21 year absence, I could care less if we play UT or the Sisters of Charity...I'm going to the games and having a good time.  And you won't see mee with a screen name like:  AggiesAreWe or UNLV nor will you see me with Texas Tech logos.  Come to think of it, I'm going to have to come up with a better screen name now.
I am willing to overlook the slam on my Texas Tech logo - since you obviously didn't look just under my screen name and see the big ol' Lamar Alumnus patch.  No one that knows me would ever, or could ever, doubt my allegaince and support for my alma mater.  I bleed Red and White - even if we play Texas Tech or any other program I am a fan of.  I have my season tickets, go to as many games (football, basketball, baseball, etc) as I can living out of town with a young family and support the school financially. Personally, I didn't care who we played this year either; I was going to the games - but I want what is best for MY university - and I don't see long term future in the Southland Conference.
16. He has already left WVU twice?  No doubt he is talented, but I wonder if this is just homesickness or an indication of future problems?  I don't know the kid or his situation (other than that he was 3rd on the depth chart at WVU behind a soph starter) but the leaving twice in less than a semester causes me concern.
17. Sport's Illustrated weekly section highlighting amateur athletes has a blurb on Lamar QB Andre Bevil and his record setting performances against SELA and Webber Int'l.  Issue date is October 11.
18.
nobody is giving the reds a chance, and looking at their lineup, i can understand that, but... this is the playoffs, and anything can happen.  i'll go out on a limb and say that the reds upset everyone's world series favorites in 7.
They only play 5
19. I'm not even saying that we SHOULD join the WAC - in fact I don't think we are being invited to the discussion - but that the powers that be have to be aware of the ever changing landscape of conference affiliations.  There is going to be a lot more shakeup in the next few years as the BCS conferences continue to look to expand and the ripple effect that will create down the line.  Dr. Simmons and Coach Tidwell have to be thinking ahead and putting feelers way ahead of time.
20. Guys - the Southland conference is dying - and will probably flat line in less than three years.  UTSA and Texas State are gone.  Nicholls, Northwestern State, Southeast Louisiana and McNeese are facing huge budget cuts.  Sam Houston is looking for a way out.  SFA won't be far behind Sam.  The powers that be at the University have to be looking several years ahead - and that has to include conference realignment. I would love for them to move to FBS.  and it may have to come sooner than later if things in the southland shake out badly.
21. [Hidden Content] If douchebaggery is a race, then I agree with him.
22. I second the idea that we need to leave the SLC - there won't be much left after a couple of years - especailly if the LA schools all have to drop FCS football - which seriously could happen with the budget shortfalls hitting the Pelican State. Lamar has to always be on the lookout for ways to better its situation.  Maybe it's the WAC, maybe it's not.  Personally, I trust Dr. Simmons to make the right decision when that choice is available.  And when he leaves maybe I'll throw my name in the hat to replace him! ;)
23.

Let's all take a deep breath.  Programs greater than this one have lost by scores like this and have done okay from that point.  Several years ago the almighty Texas Longhorns got rolled up by UCLA 66-3.  Just a few years ago, Nebraska rolls into Lubbock and gets trounced by Texas Tech 70-15.  The Aggies lost to OU 77-0.  These things happen.  It sucks when they happen to you.  But you buckle up your chinstrap on Monday and hit somebody in practice and get ready for the next game. The SFA game is old news.  I'm not going to discuss it anymore.  Let's have some good practices and come out firing against Prison U.  GO BIG RED!!
How DARE YOU post facts.   :D Can't you see the sky is falling.   ;D
interesting...none of those head coaches are employed
And none of those teams was playing their 4th game in the last 21 years either.
