  1. That, like many things in this life, does not have a definitive answer. There are plenty of very good and very bad with both groups.
  2. So there have been more Muslim bombings than abortion clinics bombings in this country by so-called Christians? You're right about one thing - it's not even close..
  3. Always the voice of reason...
  4. Coaches who consistently that see the top talent play top talent, regardless of location/classification of play. It's just not the same in HS, even at the 6A level. Apart from teams like Plano West, you just don't see the conglomeration of talent that you see with the top summer programs. Until you see a kid compete against that level of competition, it is difficult to predict how his game will translate at the next level. For instance, a coach at a Findlay Prep or Oak Hill will carry more weight because they consistently play a higher level of competition. Certainly there are plenty of HS coaches who have an eye and can identify those types of players but there are probably more who could not. You have to keep in mind you are talking about coaches from 6A to 1A and how many are not even adept at coaching at their respective levels.
  5. Bingo. Much easier to prove.
  6. I would talk about the extension they gave the Shemanator but he did produce a lot of draft picks with his recruits.
  7. You're at the wrong events maybe. Had 15 D1 head coaches at our Friday night game in Louisville (including Bill Self) as well as the Findlay Prep staff recruiting.
  8. I believe this is true FAR more often than not. There are some who certainly can but more fall in the "cannot" category.
  9. No doubt you guys would. Aren't you still paying Fran?
  10. How many did A&M get drafted? How many did Texas? I'll hang up and listen.
  11. I agree - already said he's one of the all time greats. And I don't care who it is - manny, mayweather, or anyone else - it's boring to me. That's all.
  12. All I can say is I would never pay for another of his fights. Or even try to go to a place showing it. He's a great fighter and I have no hatred for him. His style is just boring IMO. If you grew up watching fights like the one below, you might feel the same. There was more action in that first round than the whole fight last night: [Hidden Content]
  13. Gotta agree with Buddy. Just my personal opinion but I think many of these QBs that are "busts" might not have been had they had a chance to learn for a couple of years.
  14. To be fair, not nearly as bad as the 77-0 beat downs they used to take in our "inferior" conference. I think we should let up on those poor Aggies until the season start. You know, let them bask in the glow of their 9th place conference finish a little longer....
  15. Floyd is a great fighter. One of the all time greats within the rules of the sport. His speed is amazing. And for us old school guys, he is boring as hell to watch. It's like watching a basketball team run the four corners. Can be very effective but doesn't make it fun to watch.
  16. I was telling my kid last night that the fight I most remember watching with my dad was Hagler/Leonard. It's a shame there just aren't those type of fights/fighters anymore.
  17.   The numbers will exceed anything they anticipated.  Directv was crashed on the phones and online with people trying to pay to watch the fight.  Never seen a fight delayed to let the cable providers try and handle the volume of the demand.
  18.   Waste of $100.  Pretty boring IMO.  No way I pay or even search for a place to watch a rematch.  Not that there will necessarily be one.  These two are not close at this stage in their careers.  Would have loved to have seen them go at it 5 years ago.  Think Reggie Miller was pretty poignant in his assessment before the fight about that opinion.
  19. Mayweather fastest fighter I've ever seen.
  20. [Hidden Content] Not the biggest Le Batard fan but I do listen to him a couple of times a week. One thing I love about him is his absolute impatience with stupidity.
  21. Completely agree with all of that. Wasn't the case with either kid I am talking about though.
  22. C'mon man. You have to see the point...
  23. A little different way a making bullets13's point but an excellent job of making it. Completely agree.
  24. I'm pretty sure they even named something on that campus after Nevin Shapiro (and then quickly removed it when his Ponzi scheme went bust).
