Silsbee 72 Hardin-Jefferson 62/Final

I would have called you more than crazy. Some of that credit goes to defense though. And Silsbee is pretty relentless on that end of the floor... -

Didn't see it and very much trust your opinion. My point would be the same but maybe amend to say 2 out of the three. -
Mamba leading the charge in removing all class from this thread (what a shocker). CATMAN with the follow up.

Silsbee 72 Hardin-Jefferson 62/Final
TxHoops replied to WOSgrad's topic in High School Boys Basketball
This game illustrated the big difference between Silsbee and HJ. I still believe it's possible for HJ to beat Silsbee. BUT, it will take all 3 of their key components to have a very good game and be healthy. The trouble with beating Silsbee is they have so MANY kids who can step up and have huge games. A kid or two is having an off night? No problem. That's as crucial to me as the wearing you down effect. -

Wow LCM scores 40 in a half. Must have been really shooting it -
Pot calling the snow... Nevertheless, those Ls just seem to find you anyway

I have confirmation myself and I don't need to violate a confidence. Especially since it came from Austin. But believe what you want to believe, mamba my man. They say ignorance is bliss....

I assumed everyone knew the other one. They made no bones about it

What the hell is so difficult to follow with this story? I would be happy to leave Ozen out of it. Unfortunately, some inserted themselves in it. Not me. And couldn't agree more. It's just basketball which is why I find it sad some spend so much effort keeping a kid off the court. But at this point, the poor dead horse is getting abused. If you haven't clued in (or been clued in) by now, probably ain't going to happen. Like I said, to this point, the only losers are the kid who can't play, and the ones who can't seem to get that dub even when he can't

Sorry, I forgot you guys don't mind if they don't even actually live in your district
-
He moved in with his mom. So no biggie. But the Panthers have had a few transfers (move ins and just plain old transfers). BISD, on the other hand, is pretty much play where you want so for any of them to complain is pretty laughable.
-
What is ignored is that the kid was and is thousands of miles away from his family and was stuck in a bad situation with no school to attend. He was taken in, clothed, fed, and enrolled in school. Kind of sounds like a hardship situation to me. The DC obviously agreed. Couple of schools, consumed with trying to beat the school, brought in the wahmbulances and he has been relegated to watching. Unfortunately for the cryers, they have posted a big ol' doughnut in the win department against the Jags through the first few contests. But hey, no doubt your losses were a little closer than they would have been so congrats!

Hardin-Jefferson vs. Silsbee, by the numbers
TxHoops replied to AggiesAreWe's topic in High School Boys Basketball
If there is a 4A program in Texas with more talent than Silsbee (and by more, I am talking numbers), I would have to see it. I don't think such a school exists. Mainly because I'm not sure I have EVER seen one with more quality talent on campus than Silsbee has right now. Add to that the fact that the kids stay in the gym year round, and are well coached, and you have a recipe for success. HJ, on the other hand (or same hand), also is plenty talented and well coached. Which is why this continues to be a competitive rivalry. -
Ditto. I would have set the line at Silsbee as a 5-7 point fav, and only because of the nature of games and free throws seldom keeping a final score super close. Saladin and Parquet are as good as anyone in the game and Roberts is the best "big" in the district. The question to me in this game is how much Silsbee's depth affects HJ. We shall see. I like the Tigers in a close one.

I thought we were talking about this year. But thanks for the history lesson of games from when Chris was in diapers. As for the games that he COULD have been a part of, that scoreboard shines a little bright...
-
Welp. Easy there Winwin. Give the man a chance to breathe...
-
No worries Dickie V. Ozen's been taking those Ls with or without the big man. Justice has been served. Or in the Panthers' case, exposed

HJ has a rich history and tradition of which they are justifiably proud. Until Silsbee gets it done, they can only look on in envy. The good news is the Tigers have the kind of talent to grab one of those elusive titles. But they still have to get the job done. As it sits, HJ gets to look at their 3 trophies while Silsbee dreams of getting their first. As for the game tomorrow, I expect it to do the rivalry proud.
