  1. And I actually favor keeping Smart. He’s become an elite defender and his motor is crazy high.
  2. True, but a HUGE part of Brown’s value is the very thing you mention. You could keep him one more year but that eats a year off the added equity and if Hayward is healthy, he’s still an all star and Brown’s minutes would be severely reduced...
  3. The next moves will be unloading a SF and a PG. We can’t keep Tatum, Brown and Hayward because you can’t have 70m tied up at the 3. And you may never have Rozier’s stock this high. I might actually prefer keeping Brown over Hayward but Brown will bring more equity imo. Tatum is off limits because he looks every bit the future of the franchise.
  4. But does it get higher ratings on the world wide network of sports than cornhole?? [Hidden Content]
  5. The opinion set forth in Murphy screams an anti-commandeering argument that seems tailor-made for a sanctuary argument for those who are accustomed to analyzing legal precedent. I was interested in the opinion for other reasons but this was one of the first thoughts I had. And it’s more than a little arguable about the framers intent with 4-4. In fact, it’s one of the more hotly debated areas among constitutional scholars. Having said all of that, we’re not far off on our views of the Feds role in this area.
  6. From what I am hearing, the “tampering with governmental records” is only the start of his legal troubles. Apparently, he was also very “friendly”with the girls during his time at Hillcrest. I might be cynical but I have a suspicion this happens way more often than we know about.
  7. No. Not close. Probably not in the Top 10 in the country but has potential to be very good. Iowa St actually has a taller and more athletic version in Hakim Butler. He’s listed at 6-6 (he’s at least 6-7) only because it’s apparently a negative with nfl scouts if you are taller than that (not kidding, although seems silly to me). [Hidden Content]
  8. Ooops I accidentally opened this thread.
  9. There is word that both games will have a bigger viewing audience than annual contests with the little sister school. I wonder why?
  10. Apparently I wasn’t alone in my reading of the opinion. To wit: [Hidden Content] [Hidden Content]
  11. Yes, this case will most certainly be used as precedent in such cases. Absolutely it is. Big money gaming has paved the way to a lot of states’ autonomy arguments.
  12. I think the same argument can be made there as well, yes.
  13. The precedent set forth by the SCOTUS today opens the door for decriminalization of marijuana by the feds (and other drugs, perhaps) as well as sanctuaries in the states. The same rationale would apply to both and this case will assuredly be cited in any such cases the high court might hear in the future.
  14. Quite simply - yes. Speed is one of the biggest factors in athleticism. And wind or no wind, not many in the history of this COUNTRY have been in his glorified air in this category. Add to that his heart and determination, I personally don’t think we’ve ever had a better athlete in this area. The awards/medals are simply a byproduct of the work and talent. We haven’t seen near the last of those either.
  15. Word is Kalon “Boogie” Barnes just broke the National 100m record with a 10.04 at the State Meet. Can anyone confirm?
  16. And Waddy took the head job at Mesquite.
  17. Not Shug’s bear outing. Would have been a mercy rule game. Tech wins 16-5.
  18. Meh, sometimes the written word doesn’t adequately project sarcasm. Fortunately, REBgp knows what a smart a&& I am and probably picked it up right away. I contemplated using Clint Eastwood, who, like Wayne, is a conservative Republican who apparently suffers from the “disease” of masculinity. But I, like many I suppose, grew up idolizing the Duke and he was the first image that popped into my mind when reading the article Reb posted. The second thought was God help us all.
  19. There’s something to be said for helping out a school your own system by throwing them a bone with a game. Great experience for the PV kids who I’m sure rarely, if ever, experience an atmosphere like that. It is really stupid that a school would lose that many points with a win though. I would think that the RPI with any baseball team that does well in the SEC shouldn’t be an issue though.
  20. Had about 6 of our kids play in it last year. Tournament with top teams from different states, some of them prep teams that routinely run over public school teams. This year Javonte Smart’s Scotlandville lost in the first round of bracket play (and later won their 3rd consecutive D1 title). So I suppose you could say it’s fairly competitive. I have never gone to that event but have been to the Alario Center many times (where it’s played). Great facility and venue. Let me know if you have any more questions.
  21. Agreed baddog. How did John Wayne ever survive so long when he was so obviously tormented by this “illness?”
  22. To be fair, Dove isn’t the only one who is “hearing things.” [Hidden Content]
  23. Perfect timing here as well. Most talented senior class in PA in several years results in most of the team graduating. And God knows that drive had to have gotten old a long time ago. Glad it worked out for him.
