  1. Should be a great game. LCM 7 Vidor 6
  2. No one should say that the coach doesn't care. That guy coach's more than anyone I have ever seen. Maybe even to a fault. He made sure everyone in the ballpark saw that. It was clear to my untrained eye that the kid had wore down in the sixth giving up 2 runs and in the seventh he was throwing his heart out, but it was the third or fourth at bat for our boys and we were finally caught up. If my numbers are correct the kid threw 18 innings in 7 days. IMO "Crazy" I bet the other pitchers on the team are just beaming with confidence right now after the coach showed such faith in them. Has Dewey signed to play in college yet.
  3. Wasn't the lefty that pitched against us Tuesday named "DD" Lott. Or was he the righty that only pitched 1 inning?
  4. It is not even a question. Beaumont Central. It may be the worst park in the state, not just southeast texas. The playing surface is dangerous with at least an 8 inch rise going to first with an 8 inch drop when you get to the dirt. For that matter the lip all the way around the infield is unlike anything I have ever seen. I forgot to mention that there is almost no pitchers mound to speak of. Looks like a softball rubber. Pot holes in the outfield. I am just glad we got out of their without an injury. BISD should do something with Central and Ozen's field before someone gets injured.
  5. I wasn't trying to take anything away from the kid. As a matter of fact I said the kid had a great game. Pitched well also. I was just pointing out he didn't have any hits against LCM. The way the stats were posted were incorrect. I made a mistake about the Nederland game. I reread the article on this site and it said he was 3 for 3, again great game.
  6. That is pretty good since he was 0 for 1 against LCM. He did have a great game with 3 walks, but those stats you listed are very misleading. Which brings into question the 4 for 4 against Nederland. Which I think the paper had him 2 for 4.
  7. It was a great highschool baseball game. Hats off to the kids from Jasper on the win. They are a great team. I am however amazed at the number of pitches the Jasper pitchers are allowed to throw on a regular basis. Someone should inform your coach that these are tournament games and not worth putting that kind of wear and tear on you pitchers. It may catch up to you down the road. By my book (and it is not official, just a Dad trying to be part of the game) I had our two kids combine for around 125 and the Jasper pitcher threw the same by himself. I know your coach has had some success over the years I am just glad our coach is a little more conservative with our kids.
