  1. Is there any way to get the KOGT audio of the and of this game posted on here i would love to hear it
  2. If I am not right on, I am close. But I think LCM has knocked Brenham out of the post season three times and Brenham has knocked LCM out of the postseason three times. lcm won in 1996, 2000, and 2004 brenham won in 1999, 2003, and 2006
  3. My son thought my numbers on hitters faced might not be right. I am not certain but I know I am close. One run scored and turned two double plays. Don't think they stranded any runners at all but could be wrong. He did say Waddell threw just over a hundred pitches on the series.
  4. Waddell would have thrown a short bullpen sometime between last Wed and this Tues anyway. It just happened to be to nine hitters. Waddell faced two over the minimum Wednesday. (23 hitters). Then he faced the minimum in three innings Saturday. (9 hitters). I would think he should be ready to go Tuesday.
  5. A coin toss allows these two teams to know where they are in the bracket and get started on the scouting process today. Good luck to all local teams.
  6. Good point Baseball25 Back then our local playoff teams steam rolled through the playoffs and many times even met back in the regional finals to go to Austin. Why? Pitching! Let's take the local 4A district for example and use the last two baseball seasons. 2007 LCM District Champ lost first round PNG second place lost first round Vidor third place lost first round 2008 PNG District Champ won one series Vidor second place lost first round LCM third won one series Two playoff series won in two seasons Why? Local pitching has been down as compared to prior years. You can argue that setx pitching is not down, but you cannot argue that the fact that setx pitching velocity is down.
  7. LCM should have done whatever Coach Crouch thinks is best for his program. From all indications he is off to a great start with the overall athletic program as well as the football program. The football numbers are significanly up. Offseason weights and conditioning are tough but are full steam ahead. The offensive and defensive schemes are being put into place. Morale is good. I hear we will have a new look regarding uniforms and helmets next year. We are playing some 7 on 7 I believe. The hiring of a football staff is near complete. Soccer went to the playoffs. Golf team is on way to regionals after winning both boys and girls district championships. Baseball and softball are both fairing well in their district races. Keep up the good work Coach. If you say no spring football, then an extra week of two a days it is. If you decide to suit'em up next week, then have at it. We are with you either way.
  8. Today as an example, Hunter went to football practice to practice the new offense for 45 minutes and then took his turn at batting practice for 10 minutes. Sounds like a formula for success to me. Good luck to Hunter. He is great at juggling the football, the basketball, and the baseball. I don't think anybody will take his position from him in any of the aforementioned sports. If anybody does beat out Hunter that just means one thing for that sport. We are pretty dang good at qb and whatever position Hunter moves to. Or we are pretty dang good at point gard and whatever position Hunter moves to. Or we are pretty dang good in center field and whatever postion Hunter moves to.
  9. LCM Coach Griffith career 396-142 in 16th season I see twelve (possibly soon to be thirteen) playoff appearances which include 49 playoff wins according to kogt website and 2009 program
  10. Cloren hit a home run in the bottom of sixth inning that was one of the furthest I have ever seen. Great high school baseball game on both sides.
  11. That is certainly understandable. I am sorry for assuming after reading about the home runs and the four hit game by a couple of guys. We did not have enough to pull 100% either.
  12. Why are we asking LCM these questions when they pulled their starters with two outs in the first and PNG is hitting home runs in the third and grandslams in the fourth with thier starters? Do you expect the subs that have not played much all year to try to get out?
  13. Ghost, which is "better"? Winning 23-1 with your starters hitting grand slams in the fourth? Or winning 30-5 after pulling your starters after the first?
  14. Shouldn't be to interesting remember these are teenagers. The young man in question pitched against us last tuesday in the JV game. Not sure when he will be eligable to play on the Varsity, but he is very good and should help the Cards continue the run they are on. Not sure why he relocated and it shouldn't even be brought up. Best of luck to the new player and the cards the rest of the year.
  15. I understand your feeling that way. I think we are in goods hands with either guy.
  16. Coop, you are reporting they are offering are you also reporting he is accepting?
  17. I believe this to be a very common misconception. A couple of years ago one of the local papers posted some of the athletic budgets for various team sports in the area. I don't remember what our baseball team's was exactly but it was somewhere under 3,000. I would think they generate more gate than that easy. Also football may generate the most gate, but it is also considerably the most expensive sport to operate I would think. I would say most football programs use up most of their own gate and rightfully so. The biggest supporter of highschool athletic budgets is the TAX BASE not a particular sport.
  18. I hadn't thought of Coach Rankin, but boy he would be great. What is a "butt't"?
  19. sportsfreak 2008, Bears, and 77: IMO you guys are way off base. I have heard for years from outsiders the excuse of "kids not playing more than one sport and why" at our school. It just doesn't carry water. I know it is poplular to say for people who are looking to point fingers. I know you all have had sons, daughters, and siblings go through LCM in the last 10 years so you are somewhat close to the situation. So for that reason I respect your opinion. You probably have a better vantage point than I do. However, despite you all and others throwing acusations around I have never heard a specific example of these things happening since a certain basketball coach left years and years ago. Newcastle made a good point the (head/assistant baseball coaches, the head/assistant soccer coaches and the asstant basketball coaches all coach football). It would seem coach moody at least, thinks all of these guys are good for his football program. My opinion. I saw an LCM team last night that "seemed" to have soph. all over the field most of whom play other sports (a good sign for the whole program). And Bears you made the statement "WOS doesn't have one strong athlete who is not playing football." True and they are a terrific football program speed, speed and more speed. But speaking of kids forced to focus on just one sport. What is the state of Basketball, Baseball and Soccer programs and WOS. Question is for Bears only. Not trying to start anything with WOS people please.
  20. Bay City is a tough team. Who did they pitch tonight. I would have to say that BH is still atleast 50-50 if not the favorite still. Plenty of arms that can keep them in the game. As long as don't loose faith.
  21. "In the Bi-District round of the playoffs LCM (22-6)(9-5) will take on the Huffman Falcons (16-6)(9-3). Huffman is the second seed from district 21-4A and are currently ranked 10th in the Houston Chronicle Area Top 10, and 7th in the Premier Sports Network Houston Area Poll." I just copied this write up off of our website. I didn't realize Huffman was having such a strong year. Looks like we will enter the first series as the underdog. Hopefully our coaches getting us home field advantage will be enough for us to pull this one out. Can't wait to get to watch those two home games. Should be alot of fun. Anyone know why the other game is not being played at Huffman's home field. I had heard they had a pretty good field.
  22. Noway does Vidor take it easy, there is too much at stake and besides, we don`t like the bears very much. That is not very nice to say. We still whish you guys the best come playoff time.
  23. Dallas Brown is our #1 and if all we could score off of Harrington was one run, I am glad we have him ready for Ozen. If that's the case then why didn't they throw him in the biggest game of the season so far. That game last night was for sole possession of first place. I found it interesting that Barry and Cloeren were not in the line up last night. ??? ??? ??? ???Both played the entire game. Our coaches wanted to get the most milage out of our #1 and that would be having him start the Friday games the rest of the way. Ozen, Ned, Vidor. We can still win the district championship or atleast a share of it by winning out and getting a little help. Lots of baseball left to be played in the district race. Our coaches started talking about Ozen as soon as the game was over last night and that is the direction the kids are focused.
