The only field he ever agreed on was LCM. VB was only an option. They checked availability of Lamar. It was available, just as Jasper and LCM fields were. When the meeting took place to set up the game he flipped for LCM. Prior to that meeting the only thing that was set in stone was how many games would be played. Crush is correct about the rodeo. LCM baseball has played 90 playoff games in last 20 years. Many were at home. (and crowded like we were at our Silsbee game in Jasper) Many were at the other team's home. (and crowded) Many were neutral. (some crowded and some not) This one, by virtue of a won coin toss, will be at home. Good luck to both teams. (for those that will question the number 90 above, it says "games", not series)

LCM beat Silsbee at Lamar University in 1997. Beau Hale pitched and hit his first home run of the year in that game. Saw it with my own eyes.

if Silsbee beats wos and lcm beats orangefield there would be three way tie at 6-6 for last two spots. so wos could still get 4th to answer your question, but they have clinched at least that.

I think 14 different pitchers (7 for each team) threw between the two teams in this double header due to being low on pitching on a Monday following tournaments. Both of the games were much closer than the scores indicate. Game 1 was tied 5-5 going to the bottom of the fourth. Game 2 was 7-6 going to the bottom of the sixth. Game 2 starting pitcher for Lions is said to be going to a good junior college to pitch. Good luck to him and the Lions the rest of the way.

Complaining about a call is one thing. Putting the video or photo on the internet is another and would be very disrespectful to the umpire who is usually a good man that just made a mistake. That is not something our coaches would allow to happen.

reading from the rule book. the runner is out when...... he does not legaly slide and causes illegal contact and/or illegally alters the actions of a fielder in the immediate act of making a play, or does not slide in a direct line between the bases. If contact is ruled to be malicious, he is to be ejected.

Some just do not have much experience.  I do appreciate their service to our baseball community. Runner cannot make contact unless sliding directly into bag.  Should have been ejected.

I just got an email that tonight's win by lumberton ended a 34 consecutive loss streak to the bears dating back to the 1900's.  Is that true? or a hoax? Can anybody tell me what was the last time that lumberton beat them?

This reminds me of the post earlier this year where the dad posted that his son that got cut was one of the top five hitters in district 20-4A. I read that post and briefly thought how could that be. I then called a guy that is one of the most knowlegable baseball people in the area that i knew was familiar with the kid. His answer was a long way off from the dads assessment. Quote? I will not share with you his words as to not offend the boy or the dad. Sometimes parents miss it by a hundred miles. One guy mentioned earlier that its in coaches' nature to win. I would like to add to that. Its in parents nature to think their kid is better than he really is. If your boy can help the team win, his coach will use him to do just that.

I just heard LCM has four alternate sites reserved in north and east texas and that Brenham was digging up a similar number in south and central texas.  Should have it covered unless the rain has it covered better than the two of us.
