wouldn’t say that. LCMs best player is still in football. He is there best scorer, rebounder, and defender. He will help a lot.

Well, now that I finally have come out of a busy period.  I just wanted to respond and thank all of you for the very kind words.
But in reality there are many factors aside from me that make this board what it is.
First, I have an awesome board owner in Jordan Wilson, who, sometimes foolishly so (LOL!) gives me free reign on the board.
First, a have an awesome partner in crime in AggiesAreWe that is always there late at night to help me close out the particular task I am working on.  I have mods that are able to help with the same.
Second, I happen to be in an area where we have coaches who, even though they are under absolutely no obligation to do so, will provide information I request of them in a matter of minutes.  So I ask of you when you wish to criticize them, be mindful of the information that they as a whole provide to me.....and ultimately to you.
Third, a believe this board is what it is because of you all contribute.  Personally, I think this board is at it's best when all of us are contributing and you have certainly satisfied that.  I might not agree with the contribution and when I don't, I will sure let you know.  Yet, it is still welcomed.
And finally, I have a saint of a wife who knows that on the weekend, my presence is only physical.  However, don't weep for her as she finds ways for me to make amends for it!
Now, as to what seems a burning question for some, "How does he find the time to do this?"
What I am about to reveal is known to the staff and some of the Mustang fans.  In March of 2014, a previously diagnosed condition of congestive heart failure had progressed to the point to where I was hospitalized and ultimately placed on both heart and kidney transplant lists.  I was hospitalized for just short of 3 months as I was placed on a left ventricular assistance device (LVAD).......some call it a heart pump.....I lovingly refer to it as "my little buddy."  Some who know former Silsbee and A&M star William Morrisey are familiar with this.  In fact, Moe and I go to the same doctor in Houston.  The LVAD helps me live a normal life and I am currently not in grave danger.  But my condition makes a work day impossible until I get the two transplants above and perhaps even after that.
So absent a work day, devoting my time to the site helps pass the time until I "get the call" and hurriedly rush to Houston.  Given that this board has to do with high school sports which remains in my mind the purest level of sport, it is a labor of love.
That it is appreciated certainly doesn't hurt.  I will do my best as my physical condition allows.
Now, enough of this, I am busy.  Off to get more stats...no more basketball schedules.......no more football playoff scenarios....no volleyball playoff schedules........What!? Soccer season is almost here!? Sigh!!!!!!!

I'm still trying to figure out how 371 total yards and 5 touchdowns is average. From the late 80's to now I'd rank Roschon as the top QB I've ever seen in SETX. He is a true duel threat. A guy that can take off, but is absolutely comfortable staying in the pocket if he can, and also throws a beautiful ball. Chip was at Brook when I was at PNG. He was pretty special, but I'd put Johnson over him. Just a personal opinion. Dustin Long was my teammate in baseball. Great arm, was sneaky fast when he had to be out of the pocket.
There's a reason huge football programs are going after Johnson as a quarterback.
And I wouldn't worry about the kid reading into the press clippings, if you've spent any time with him you'd know that he's not a ME guy. He always praises teammates. He's the type that scores, jogs to the cooler for water and takes a seat to talk to his teammates. He's also the type of guy that the week after being eliminated from the playoffs you'll see at the stadium working to get better. There are very few players that have the type of dedication he does.
There's an IT factor I've seen in players that I've covered and he's got it. The others that I've seen it in since being in the media: Shanderrick Charles, Jamaal Charles and Earl Thomas. Those were the type of players that were just on another level. I really wish Shanderrick wouldn't have had his injury.
Does this mean that RJ is destined for greatness in the NCAA and the NFL? Absolutely not. But to say he is average isn't being realistic.

Lol if you wanted info you could ask kronos. It's going to take Magic to get him out of burnt orange or out of state. Scouts and recruits knew that and then he went and comitted early. He is considered a lock or a lean now. People are usually hesitant to offer kids who are locked in to one place. Urban Meyer even brought it up in convo before offering. Btw Florida and Florida state offered

So bad.  Even though we have all witnessed an unimaginable event, I have never been more proud to live in Texas.  I have made somewhat of a list that we WILL overcome as a state. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected.
Houston ISD serves 220,000 kids. Neighboring Humble ISD 40,000 kids. Sheldon ISD where most campuses are still flooded 8900. There are another 10 school districts in the same county as Houston alone. Port Aransaa ISD (where the storm hit) has been closed indefinitely. 600 kids to move to a neighboring district. Almost every single one homeless. Beaumont ISD still covered in multiple feet of water, 20,000 students. Port Arthur ISD with water rescues happening today 8700 students. Wharton ISD had water rescues yesterday and they serve 2200 students. Not to mention all of the smaller districts along the coastal region that were affected.  All told, there are close to half a million students still not in school. Start days scattered from Tuesday after Labor Day to the following Monday. Many will be starting at a different campus or district than they thought two weeks ago. Tens of thousands without school supplies, clothes or even a home. Teachers and coaches  returning to work when they too have lost everything.

'blah, blah, blah...." Yeah, that is how I start responding when I don't have a leg to stand on, either. But since you are so interested in "facts", let me lay a few on you:
Fact: West Orange-Stark's last 2 years in 5A: 16-4, An .800 winning percentange.
    Fact: Port Arthur Memorial's last 2 years in 6A: 6-14. a .300 winning percentage.
Fact: In 2016, WO-S, a school of 580 students, played 16 games.  10 of those were against schools with a larger enrollment than WO-S.
Fact: In 2016, Port Arthur Memorial, a school of 2,098 students played 13 games.  Only 2 of those were against schools with a larger enrollment than Memorial.
Fact: If you would have added WO-S' 580 students to the enrollments of Memorials' 13 opponents, 7 of Memorial's opponents would STILL have smaller enrollments than Memorial.
Fact:  In 2016, West Orange-Stark faced 13 teams that made the playoffs.  That means 81% of the teams on the Mustangs' faced made the playoffs.
Fact: In 2016, Port Arthur Memorial faced 5 teams that made the playoffs.  That means that 38% of the teams that Memorial faced made the playoffs.
Fact: In 2016, West Orange-Stark faced 5 district champions in their 16 games. In their 5 games against district champions, West Orange-Stark was 5-0.
Fact: In 2016, Port Arthur Memorial faced 2 district champions, 22-5A co-champions Port Neches-Groves and Vidor, in their 13 games.  In their 2 games against district champions, Port Arthur Memorial was 1-1.
Fact: In 2016, West Orange-Stark faced 3 region champions.  Their record was 3-0 against those teams.
Fact: In 2016, Port Arthur Memorial faced 1 region champ. Their record was 0-1.
And who was the scavenger in this bunch?

I don't think anyone becomes the 3-4th (depending on where you look) Dual threat in the nation and #20 overall player in Texas for their graduation year just by being the black athlete at a small town white school. The fact that he is able to produce with whatever is around him got him there.
    Anyways,  we all good here.
National and team recruiters and coaches love him enough.
    This is hilarious btw.

"Take him out of the district and PNG is sniffing the bottom."
that doesn't prove anything except how good "Shug" really is. He was able to take a sorry PNG team (in your opinion) on a pretty decent playoff run. How many yards did he put up against y'all? Running and passing behind a sub par offensive line. Man, that whole post you just made only tells me how good he is, not how average he would be on another team. You put him on a team like Westbrook or wos with a strong o line and that's only gonna make him look even better...

Exacty L-Train. This why I am not sold on Vidor in 2017.
There were people that said Vidor's JV team would come up to lead the varsity and keep em rolling. They said PNG JV was weak. Well, under normal circumstances, Roschon who was a 10th grader would be that JV QB and Vidor definitely loses that game just like their varsity got beat down last year. However, him being the special talent he is, Faircloth would have to be stupid to keep him on JV so the answer was obvious. The ONLY reason PNG had a poor JV season is because the QB played on varsity when he usually played with his age group all up until that point.
Im looking dead at BMTSoulja about this Vidor thing lol. He brought up Vidor a while ago saying that they are coming strong. He better hope Central comes back strong too. I dont care for your transition or new coach. If you are  and have been so talented PROVE IT. And stop getting beat by Vidor so often. WE ALL KNOW CENTRAL IS SUPER TALENTED AND SUPER INCONSISTENT! Which is why they lose to Ned, PNG and Vidor so often through the years.  With their talent, Central should only lose probably one game in district but almost every year we see how that ends up.
Now PNG will sweep Central and MCM in Shugs 3 years there and when he is the QB of the  Unviversity of *********** I'll offer BMTSoulja a beer and tickets and tell em I told ya so lol. Might wanna take that offer Soulja, the seats they offer Family at these college games are awesome lol
Second point is, when I said that PNG had a JV QB last year that would take over SETX last year, NEARLY everyone laughed. Now, 11 arse-whoopings, 3 round deep play off trip, and about 20 TOP (not all are listed on HUDL and 247sports)  schools scholarships later  it seemed there needs to be a reminder of sorts.. TOP schools, I'm talking Urban Meyer, Tom Herman etc. (Not eastern Western Northern Baptist University for Embryotic Development of Small Lizards), I guess some people got to be reminded.
Its getting close to football season and if I gotta be the villain, damnit I'm the villain! lol Its all in fun, but feel free to be offended and annoyed because it will make the conversation sooo much better. Get your tomahawks ready.

I agree 100% Rake.  When we stoop so far as to start minimizing other sports (one of which was by a fan of a school who has made a tremendous leap forward in that sport due to a great hire and dedication of its kids), we really need to evaluate why we post.  Kids do read this board and I'm sure they love to hear their accomplishments are unimportant.  Is that what is meant?  Of course not.  Is that the message that is sent?  Absolutely.
I'm by no means a baseball guy anymore than I'm a soccer guy.  Both are too slow paced for my liking.  But I'm proud of all the kids from this area who have worked hard at their craft and are enjoying the fruits of their work.  Silsbee and BC included, both of whom had playoff seasons in all 3 of the major sports among others.
I agree with WOSgrad about the feasibility of a "smack talk" board.  And who would want to moderate that.  As far as AAW, this board is not possible without all the time he devotes to it and who among us has not thoroughly enjoyed at least one of his many broadcasts, not only for the Tigers but also other schools.  And I don't know that I've ever seen him start one of these "detours"; I have seen him respond to some...he probably struggles like I do to jump in when someone posts something he believes is a bit ridiculous.  And as humans, we are never always correct in our beliefs and assumptions.
Soooo, my suggestion for those who do enjoy some ribbing and smack talk - venture over to the college or pro sports board and fire away.  PhatMack, UTfanatic, BandwagonRanger, baddog, BSWildcats, teamfirst, king, myself, and others enjoy plenty of that over there.  And unlike with our HS kids, these subjects involve guys who are either paid a lot of money to play or coach, or are getting a high priced education to do so.  They aren't reading this board and if they do, they are adults who can take it.  My 2 cents.
Thanks again for the thread Rake.  We don't always agree but I do ALWAYS enjoy your contributions to this board

I know most of the shoe sponsored team and some of their coaches pretty well.. They do exstensive background check on their coaches. Most of them are High School coaches ,coaching so that eliminates half the problem. I think what BradyB is referring to is kids leaving a mid level organization to go play for another mid level organization who pretty much has the same resume as most mid level teams. At the end of the day there are good and bad ones. My opinion is whether or not they are good or bad they still take time out to be around other ppls kids. Now yes some of these coaches need to clean it up because let's face it 75% of the kids playing are black and we need role models not enablers for our youth jmo.. but to each there won..emphasis shouldn't be solely on Basketball but EDUCATION..the ball has to stop bouncing one day then what are you going to do... it's plenty of dudes in the rec Monday thru Friday still living hoop dreams it's sad.
