  1. Prayers for the injured player that it was not serious.

I can't believe grown people are on here talking about our team not hitting a knee. Hitting a knee is not out of respect for the injured. It was started in junior leagues so that when a kid got injured the other kids stayed in one place and weren't roaming all over while the coaches checked on the injured kid. Back in my days we never hit a knee. Hell I watched two years in a row, 85 & 86, a QB for PNG get a compound fracture to their leg playing French. French never hit a knee while they were working on either one of them. This hitting a knee has gotten out of hand. Believe me I am very concerned when a kid gets an injury to that severity but hitting a knee is not going to do anything for it. I saw a few kids hit a quick knee a send a prayer up for him that I guess most weren't seeing because they were more worried why we were not acting like a junior league team.

  2. Plusone, you must be one of those parents who believes in giving a kid a time out instead of a good old fashion spanking like the parents of old use to do. I bet you believe everybody gets a trophy too. I will tell you this, if I had done that to a kid when I played my coach would have kicked us off right then and there. Then when I got home my dad would have taken care of it. A lot of kids now days don't know what it's like because of parents thinking their child does no wrong. Heat of the moment or not, a player does not take a helmet off an opponent and hit him in the head with it if he has the right discipline.

  3. Has anyone watched film or the replay on the game. I'm curious to know if the block in the back on KJ's long punt return was legit. Man it gave some of us in the stands déjà vu from the penalty on DT return in the State Champ game. From our side, it was a text book block. It seems now a days refs see a hard hit in a return and automatically think it has to be illegal. It could have been a good penalty but from what I saw, it wasn't. No griping from me just really want to know.

I was at the game and saw both block in the backs on that one punt return. They were both legit calls. The phantom offsides call on PNG after they recovered a fumble at the 40 was sketchy. Never saw a flag thrown and looked like it didn't come about until It was determined PNG had recovered.

  4. our receives  are at least a foot taller than one of their corners. Not one time did we try to take advantage of that

Height doesn't matter if you can't catch the ball. We did try to take advantage with ones speed but he short armed one came up lame on another. Granted Morse wasn't on his game tonight but our OL was not keeping them out of the backfield either. WOS nose guard was about 5 foot nothing and did what he was supposed to do, cause a pile up in the middle and let the speed of WOS take care of the outside.

  5. At that age though if you can spot a 75-76 mph fastball that's all you need and he spots it pretty well. But, if he messes up and hangs it both Texas and California have the hitters to pounce on it. These next two games ought to be really interesting to watch.

  6. Yeah, Texas is about 4 strong in pitching with a few others that can come in and give a couple good innings. Pennsylvania may not be as deep but their top 2 are pretty good. I think Texas will win the American side provided they don't hit a snag if they play California in the finals. I know Texas beat them the first time but California is getting their mojo going. But California isn't to deep in pitching either. On the international side it's going to be really good games between the three left.

  7. That was one of the better LL games you will ever see.  Great finish

Pearland and Pennsylvania are the 2 unbeaten teams left in the American bracket.

That one was a great game. This Pearland vs Pennsylvania game should come down to which pitcher can shutdown the other teams stix. Both teams hit very well. It may come down to who is home team. This should be an exciting game to watch......gotta pull for the Texas boys though.

  8. @RapSheet: #Steelers LB James Harrison takes a strong stance against participation trophies for his sons. Interesting #Hottake

@espn: James Harrison returns his kids' participation trophies, wants them to "EARN a real trophy."

I like it. A lot of kids now days don't know how to work for what they want. There are some that still work hard but  a lot depend on their parents to get them what they want. Throughout my many years of coaching I saw it way to much where the parent tried to suck up to a coach to get his son where he thought he should be are more playing time. I was taught that if you want to get better and play where you want to, then earn it. Work harder then the next person and prove  yourself.

  9. Mayfield you know better than anyone you can never ever count out a Larry Nueman, D. Spell D Crommit, Toby Tolbery, B. Spell, J Stoker, R Lowrance, B. Stark, B Theroit, M Broussard, M Todd Team. These coaches are winners. Period.

You left out the main one. Monte Barrow is the mastermind behind the offense.
