New to the district but it seems like a lot of the better programs in 4A are D2 so wouldn’t you think some of them would opt up to play in D1?

Excited but if it’s just a 5 team district then district play won’t mean much but win one and you’re in. I am interested to see what our pre-district schedule might look like and of course a playoff run but now I’m putting the cart way before the horse. Should be fun though.

Vidor won 54-47 final. A much better showing for the Pirates after the BC debacle, HF has some athletes.

Yes all that and Vidor played like 💩 in the 1st qtr, got down 15-0 before coming back to make a game of it.

Montana could have took a D1 offer but he chose another path and that’s fine but I think he tore an ACL during his mission time away from the game. I could be wrong but I heard it was a sandy beach type of backyard football game and that was the end of that.

There was a QB who went to Arkansas, in the 2000s, what was his name... He was fast real fast but not a very good QB, recruited as a DB I think. Then there was the dentist who was apparently a bad ass in the 80’s, before my time but he did work on my teeth and told me all about it. He had an offer from LSU but blew a knee out his Senior year and still took a scholarship to McNeese.

Since 99-00 so it’s about a .500 average but you have to understand where the program was before he came along. Vidor was BAD, real bad. We had about 20 years of suck, so I’ll gladly take 20 years of average with the occasional excellent season. You really don’t need to add anything PA, we already know how you feel. You’ve already made that clear all season long. If you know it all go get you 100 wins somewhere as a coach smart ass. And no I don’t need to ‘politic or kiss butt’ to coach Mathews for any reason. Just pointing out something good and like always you find the negatives. Done with this BS until next season thankfully, like I said I’ll be on the basketball forum. ✌️

100th win for Coach Mathews, all at Vidor. Quite an impressive legacy and role model for the young men. He was my coach his first year and now he’s coaching my son. The boys played well this season, sadly it’s over. Hate to see this group of Seniors go but we hope to make some noise next year, wherever that may be. 🏀 Bring em out, see y’all on the hardwood.

West Brook played as hard as they could, you really can’t beat a Deer Park when they are fighting for the right to get beat in round one of the playoffs.

Whoever wins still gets to have the breaks beat off in round one lol. Nah I’m kidding Mid County will sweep the opening round of the playoffs easily.
