I feel that those folks that think PNG believes they have this game in the bag are a little far-fetched. PNG takes it one game at a time, and NEVER underestimate the ability of our opponents. Faircloth changes the "scheme of things" from week to week and ALWAYS comes up with some surprises.  I DO feel PNG will win this one, but it will be closer than most people think. Scalp 'em, Indians, Scalp 'em!

Man, I don't know about this one...I'm pullin for my Alma Mater (Newton), but its gonna be a hard fought, tough game.  Is the game being played at Newton or at Kirbyville?  Hope the Eagles come away with the "W".  But, either of these teams will have to EARN this win.

Pngfan1, that is probably the BEST post I have EVER read on this forum.  I remember the debates, the put downs, the "sissy" ball remarks, the saracasm, and all the other possible "negative" remarks that could have been made AGAINST PNG last year.  And, we did have some fans on here that lashed out with every right to do so.  But, for the most part...the PNG faithful stuck to their guns..the school board, the fans, players, parents and all involved knew we were on the right path.  Every though, PNG has gone out this year and proven themselves over and over, there are STILL naysayers out there that REFUSE to recognize that PNG IS the real deal.  I, for one, knew PNG would improve, but I would NEVER committ at the beginning of the season that PNG would make the playoffs, let alone, be 9-0 (ask COOP.....he'll tell u I was skeptical). But, Faircloth and company, came in, realized our weaknesses and strengths, and pulled these young men together to make an exceptional team.  I'm not putting down any other team or their fans, God forbid, but I will tell you this...there is "magic" at The Reservation this year! Reminds me of the "magic" of the 70's.  People that bleed "purple" are committed to PNG.  I diddn't graduate from PNG, but from Newton..another football powerhouse with dedicated fans (purple & white as well).  When my wife took me to my first PNG game, I heard the beat of the war drums, the Indian Spirit, the hordes of fans, I was hooked.  My son was an Indian Spirit his senior year, my daughter was an Indianette.  I bleed purple, and I'm dang proud of PNG!  Honor>>>>>>Pride>>>>>Tradition>>>>>>>PNG Indians!  Enough said!

[/quote] I totally agree with you.  Faircloth has a lot of class and could have very easily run up the score. Pulling the starters out giving the other guys some play time, as well as not totally embarrassing the other team shows  the "fairness" of this coach.  I was talking to a players dad and he said that at a parents meeting, Coach Faircloth said he would not NOT run up a score for the sake of getting more points, that he wants to give EACH and EVERY player a chance to get play time as much as possible.  I tell you, PNG has definitely come together as a well balanced team and just seem to get better and better with each passing week.  I just got in from the track for my morning run and the coaches were already there, making preparations.  PNG fans know we have a dedicated coaching staff and are very proud of them.  We WILL be ready for Central....the Indians are coming to town and are on a Warpath!

All the starters were taken out of the game for PNG.

[b][color=purple][b]Ok, now that I've picked myself up off the floor LMAO, the "beating of our lives".  I teach in Beaumont, I've heard the hype of how Central will destroy PNG....I'm still laughing..not going to happen...PNG is too much for Central and the Central fans know this.  Almost every week this season, posters have come out and took joy in putting PNG down.  Now, with Faircloth as the Head Chief, PNG has gone out and proven weekly, that we ARE the real deal.  Now, the game with Central will be good and may or may not be close..but one thing for sure, as of around 10:30 pm on November 6, 2009, PNG will be the undisputed 20-4A District Champion.
