1. One thing I know about Coach Brandon Faircloth....the Indians will be "primed" and ready for battle.  I love the fact that so many feel Manvel will win....please, keep thinking that...please.  I see a lot of reference to the TC game...that was in preseason and a LOT has changed at PNG.  These boys are hungry and will take this one. PNG has the BEST coaching staff, athletes, and talent in Texas as far as I'm concerned. PNG wins this one and never looks back!
+1 We on the Reservation know that people saying the fan base is slipping is not true......and the people that are saying it...they know it to. Dont get the Purple and White dirty.
Agree!  The Reservation is alive! All the kids and a whole lot of adult Indians out of school and off from work this week getting ready for Stallworth. The Indians are on a WARPATH and will completely take over the Manvil Mavericks on Saturday!
 3.
Just to clarify the Alvin team is Manvel High School
So, are you guys as pumped as PNG is about the game Saturday?
 4.
I am so ready for this game.
You and me BOTH!  I teach, so I'm out of school this week...I just want "turkey" day to get here and over with, so we can get to Stallworth! Is that wrong of me slighting the ole turkey?  LOL Scalp 'em, Indians, Scalp 'em!
 5. I have no problems with teams meeting at midfield...it really gets the fans into the game. HOWEVER, Saturday night, the Willis team met at midfield, and INTENTIONALLY taunted the Indian Spirit, the PNG players, coaches and fans.  This was a deliberate act...total disrespect. Willis got their payback with the late hits, personal fouls during the game. When they came out after halftime, the refs were waiting for them and they didn't taunt.  Its a shame that coaches would allow their team to stoop this low....I agree, if PNG EVER did this to another team like the Willis team did to us..I'd leave the game.  With that being said, I see no problems with a team meeting at midfield.....just leave the taunting out of it. As a teacher, we work very hard to instill in our students respect, even when things aren't going your way.  Taunting, personal attacks, etc. should not be part of high school sports. Just my opinion. Scalp 'em, Indians, SCALP 'EM!
 6. People camped out all night long at the ticket office to get tickets. Went by this morning around 7am, the line was loooonnnnggggg!!!!  Got my tickets, pumped, ready for the MIGHTY PNG INDIANS to take it to the Manvel Mavericks!  SCALP 'EM, INDIANS, SCALP 'EM!!!!
 7. From another thread posted by rollinac.  I think this is worth reposting on this thread.  Pretty good assessment of Manvel. Re: Manvel vs. Washington updates « Reply #19 on: November 19, 2010, 09:34:34 PM » Quote  -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote from: indianforever on November 19, 2010, 08:19:37 PM does manvil have a good defense...give me some scouting reports please Offense - 4 WR no huddle (3 wr 2 RB in the red zone).  Fast paced.  4 wr's are all small and really fast.  #5 rb is small and fast and the other one is taller and a little bigger physical back type.  They rotate QB's every series #7 starts and #8 comes in behind him.  Both are tall and athletic...7 is shorter but heavier 6'1" 215 I'd guess and 8 is 6'4" 195 ish.  I didn't notice one being any better than the other at really anything.  Both throw the ball well and both are quick on the inside.  They liked throwing the deep ball especially the post corner from the outside wr in the spread.  Inside guys ran underneath routes mostly.  It's tough to say if they do this all the time because Washington was playing a 4-3 straight man on the 4 wr with no safety.  The 3 LB's were spying the QB and RB (yes all 3).  There was little pass rush and both QB moved well in the pocket so why not throw the bomb every play.  The wr got behind the cb's just about every time and were on the money on all except 1 slight overthrow (off the fingertips and really shoulda been caught).  The RT is HUGE 6'5" 280+ and the rest of the o-line is 200-230.  Center is maybe 200.  Pass blocking technique was good...made contact early with good footwork across the board.  Run blocking was not good as Washington's interior line blew up the straight ahead run.  Only successful running plays were QB scrambles and misdirection draw traps (like the one PNG runs where the qb starts to roll right then hands off back to the left on the draw). Defense - Base defense of 4-2-5 and they played cover 3 zone on every play.  Flats were wide open as the 2 strong safeties were good athletes but could not cover that much ground.  Every pass play Wash ran was a flood roll out so at least they were making some smart play calls.  They also got the running game going pretty well.  I wasn't very impressed with any of the defensive lineman of Manvel....RE was probably the best pass rusher and they were average size.  LB's would shoot the A gaps just about every first down.  They missed a lot of tackles but swarmed to the ball and eventually would corral the runner.  The 2 CB's were both REALLY good...one pick 6 one fumble return td.  Couldn't get much of a read on the FS as he played centerfield 15-20 yards off the line and they never really challenged him.  All that being said Manvel was a pretty formidable team.  They have athletes everywhere, are well coached, and have what looks like a lot of depth.  They rotated so many players that I couldn't tell who the starters really were or if anyone was playing both ways.  They've got a lot of players.  Defense didn't look as good as the offense.  Wasn't a very good read team though as Washington would have had a really tough time beating Baytown Lee....looked like they were drawing up plays in the huddle.
I'm with you on that......there will be plenty of tickets to go around with the game being at Stallworth.

 13. Saw on the other site that tickets for the Manvel game will only be sold on Monday?  Anyone have info on this?
 14.

I give props to number 4 jayce nelson...heck of of game going over a 100 yards receiving with a td...and 2 crucial 4th down conversions
He's been money all year long. And our OLine was blowing Willis off the ball as well.
Jayce Nelson is definitely a BIG play maker....very impressed with that young man...and he'll be back next year.
 15.
Funny how all those Willis cheapshots came back to bite 'em in the end. The personal foul on #56 for taking a swing at #55 for PNG after he was pancaked on that last drive. How about when the Willis player had the blatant face mask take down of Jalali, wrenching his neck, then stood over him taunting him as he was hurt on the ground. To the guy who stated that Willis had class, I call BS!!! That was the dirtiest team I have seen in a long time! Now on to Manvel.
Yup, you're right.  There was some downright dirty plays...even at the beginning of the game when the Willis players were taunting the Indian Spirit & the refs made them move to the sideline.  There was no need for what the Willis players did. You're right.  It came back and bit them in the butt.  I'm glad!
 16. Gonna be a tough game for sure.  We have to play the best we've ever played on both sides of the ball to win this one. But, I feel the Indians can do it. Remember, not too long ago, just about EVERYBODY had PNG counted out from even making the playoffs...but look at where we are now.  Our guys go out there and play with a lot of heart, pride, and honor.  Keep up the good work, fellas....you make us PROUD!
 17. I graduated from Newton and about 30 of us went to the PNG game in Plano in 1977. I had NEVER seen so many fans at a high school football game in my life!  It was the first time I had EVER been to a PNG game....I was hooked after that.  Who knew I would meet a girl from Groves in college, marry her, and move back here to live! Once you hear those war drums and see that purple pride, you're HOOKED! My son was the NDN Spirit in 2004, my daughter was an Indianette.  I wouldn't trade my PNG memories for anything! Scalp 'em, Indians, Scalp 'em!
 18.
Most of us live what 20 minutes from the Butch and there were people there waiting at 10:30AM...............I wouldn't call that fan base slipping.  Trust me next week we will be leaving in the early AM also.
10:30 am, really?  I mean, I bleed purple and all, but 10:30 am waiting for a 7 pm game?  :o
 19.
Actually rollinac,  I wish our band played more often when the other team has the ball.  We don't do it often enough.  Willis did it ALL NIGHT LONG...good for them.
I agree too.  We need to definitely play more when the other team has the ball. A good strategy. It was pretty cool how the Willis band sounded like a freight train coming down the tracks with the whistle blowing...
 20. There DEFINITELY was no "slippage" tonite!  PNG fans out in masses!  Will be even more fans next week at Stallworth....all the PNG alumni in the Houston area will be there as well. I think what irritates me about this thread is, instead of trying to be negative about our area teams in the playoffs, we should be supporting them...not trying to tear them down! Reading through these posts, I doubt very seriously the "negative" ones have EVER been to a PNG game to begin with.  PNG will have the fan support, no matter if they're winning or not.  Invite you all to come to Stallworth and see for yourselves.
 21. The band did get annoying, but thats cool.  I dont think they stopped playing all night long! Good game, Willis!  Now, Indians, time to focus on Manvel! Scalp 'em, Indians, Scalp 'em!
 22. Yeah, we saw it too...the ball never hit the ground. Was a GREAT catch! Defense gonna have to step it up against Manvel.  I know Coach Faircloth will have them ready. Man, what a GAME!!!!
 23. Just got in from the game...all I can say is WOW!!!!! ;D ;D ;D
 24. Whatcha talkin bout, Willis!
 25. At game. No voice. Bertrand is a BEAST!!!!!!
