We are not in the minds and the hearts of the board. WE voted them in and put our TRUST in them and their decision making process for the betterment of our district. This is getting redundant......I still see NO validation of releasing the list other than folks can haggle back and forth over the candidates. We have absolutely no effect on the board and their decision. We gave them the control when we voted for and elected them. I applaud the PNG board for their stance and hope the list will NOT be released. The board has our BEST interest at heart. The eight people that will decide on the candidate are qualified and will put the district first, you can bet on that. PNG>>>>>>>Honor......Pride.....Tradition...."Priceless"

Ok, what purpose will this serve. We, the people, are not in the decision making process. Even though there are PNG folks that want to see it, they voted in the board, and will wait on them to make a decision. As for other folks, outside of PNG, them being "curious" seems more like "fear" of possibly losing a coach, or that PNG will get a top notch coach that will come in, turn our program around, and put us back on top. Still, no validation. The list, final four, whatever, will be released in due time.

Ok, so validate your reasons for releasing the names? What purpose, other than folks getting on here and attacking the candidates with pros and cons. I still feel that there are several folks afraid that some of their coaches have applied and want to know. Lo and behold on those coaches if this is true. They will probably be "railroaded" out of town. Again, I think its great that PNG is trying to protect those coaches that have applied by supporting them in thier endeavors to better themselves. Its not a mistake. The AD position is an ADMINISTRATIVE position as YankeeDawg stated and requires the candidate to have his masters. Not a mistake. It actually cuts down on salary expenses for the district in that one person can do the job of two. I'm PNG is requiring the masters. As a teacher, myself, the AD/HC will definitely earn his pay.

Hey Yankee....I agree, Eagles and Steelers! I understand your position and I know it would infuriate Bulldog fans if a coach from Nederland applied. But, that wouldn't be PNG's fault, it would solely be the applicants decision. I don't think we should fault anyone for wanting to accept a challenge and "grow" as a coach. PNG, no matter what folks say or think, is not trying to "hide" anything. I know there are susspicions out there and for whatever reason, this just gives the PNG haters more ammo to get on the board and attack PNG. We can't control what the board does, however, when it comes to name calling and insults against PNG fans, this makes my blood boil. PNG's motto, Honor, Pride, Tradition is the real deal. You've been around, you know us Indians bleed purple and will support our team no matter what. I think, for those interested parties, haggle over PNG's boards decicision, but leave the personal attacks against the fans out of it....we can't do or change anything. Yeah, I would like to see the list, but I respect my school board, who I voted in, for their stance. Have a good one. Enjoy the games!

Hey YankeeDawg....good mornin! I think it is just the decision of the respective school board on whether to release the names or not. All kinds of rumors swirling out there. I just don't understand why it is SO dang important to release this list. Again, PNG folks aren't upset about the decision, and it affects us the most. Seems like those outside of the PNGISD are the ones that are getting the most upset. We will ALL find out in due time.......patience is the key. Not that it matters, PNG "faithful" would be ok. You see, over here in PNG land, we respect the decisions of the respective school administrations.....again, it seems that more people that DON'T have a "dog in this fight", are getting more upset than the folks at PNG. Just wondering if this might have something to do with PNG now wanting their new AD to have a master's? ( Keeping up with the Jones?) KDOSullivan, you amaze me! You must have a lot of free time to think these things up. PNG requiring a masters has nothing to do with Neumann having his masters. I believe more and more schools are now requiring it because the position has changed from just being a Head Coach to an AD as well. The AD is an administrative postition, thus, the candidate will be required to have his masters in order to meet the requirements. KDOSullivan.......there are fans like that in EVERY district....always some bad apples. I moved from northeast Texas to PNG, in the early 80's, not because of the football team or sports, but because, I feel PNG is the BEST school in Texas academically...period. My son was a former Indian Spirit, my daughter an Indianette, and yes, my wife and I and kids ALL bleed purple. However, never, would any of us put down a team or player from another school, unfortunately, that happens. I'm sorry you had to hear or experience that....but believe me, MOST PNG fans are not like that. Back to the issue at hand, the list of name, final four, whatever, will come out. I think we should just be patient and wait and see.

And again, the folks from other schools are more "up in arms" about this list than PNG folks. Are you afraid one of YOUR coaches may have applied? Do you have a dog in the fight? What gives......PNG fans are laughing at you guys for getting so upset about this. We're the ONLY ones that should want the list revealed and we're not balking the decision of the board. Go figure, getting the Attorney General involved, bringing up the FOI clause. You guys have waaaaaaayyyyy too much time on your hand to be worrying about this. This is ridiculous....I hope PNG NEVER releases the list, but only announce the coach they hired.......that way, the guy will have a fighting chance........this is ridiculous. Why should they release it? Because it's the Law....To us guys without a dog in the hunt it is typical PNG. We are PNG, we'll do whatever, law or no law....In truth, I do not care. You PNG people are protesting too much. It gives an implication of you being up to something???? :-\ PNG is not up to anything. If the board is asked to release the names by "the Law", I'm sure they will. And, I'm sure the board are thinking of the applicants and their present positions at their respective schools and not wanting to create any hardship for them. "Typical" PNG, sounds like a little jealousy there...hmm.....go figure. Again, you tend to categorize ALL of PNG, fans, players, board, etc. in your comments. No one has control over this situation but the board....I still find it ironic, however, that the folks getting most upset about the list of names are not from PNG! I think there's a "fear" factor involved somewhere......maybe that PNG will rebound and be back at the top of the district. Who knows. I just think we need to wait, we ALL will find out soon enough. No disrespect Coop, but what would be the point? I agree, what would that accomplish? It would allow constituents to form opinions of the quality of the hire. For example, if a hired coach is one that, in a reasonable opinion, would have been judged inferior to several other names on the list, the constituents would be able to say "hmmmmmmmm" and take that into account in the voting booth in the next election. Voters can and will form their opinions after the coach is hire in respect to voting. The list will serve no purpose in this respect.

I think Burnett could have won with some changes in the coaching staff. There is a LOT of great talent coming up for PNG. However, the fans of PNG like to win...they are used to winning, and I feel the pressure was on to replace Burnett. I started hearing the grumblings three years ago and this year, the grumblings among fans were begining to become all out "yells." Burnett is a good man with a good heart and good intentions. I totally agree! The article is a piece of junk! What amazes me is that it seems that EVERYONE except PNG fans want the list released. I wonder why...could it be fear of what a new coach will do with the HONOR, PRIDE, and TRADITION at PNG? Or is it that they just want something else to quabble about on the board.....it just amazes me. I APPLAUD PNG for keeping the list concealed....its driving the "crazies" even "crazier!" HONOR....PRIDE.....TRADITION.............."PRICELESS!"

Totally agree with you, pngfan1. If ANYONE should be anxious about seeing the list, it should be the fans of PNG! Seems to me, those that are not associated with PNG are more anxious than the PNG fans are about releasing the names. I just feel that name calling, negative adjectives and references should be left out of the discussion in referencing PNG school district and the PNG fans. PNG>>>>>Honor....Pride....Tradition

The more I think about it, whether a FOI is filed or not, revealing the list is not going to serve any purpose, other than to give folks on discussion boards to voice "yays" and "nays" about the applicants. The end result, the decision, is up to the school board and the expertise they have in place. And the debate continues............ :

As an "insider", I agree with you, Quacker37, it doesn't matter. The decision is going to ultimately be up to the shool board. I think some folks, who evidently has it in for PNG for some reason or other, just want something else to squabble about. No matter who the final 4 is, or who is picked, he's going to be "praised" by some and "condemned" by others...thats just the way it is. Would I like to see the list of names, yes. But, its not my decision to produce it. I just take offense to the "cheap" shots against the school I support and the district I chose to send my children too.

I agree, I think releasing it would be the right thing to do, however, there are pros and cons concerning the individuals that have applied. However, calling posters names, continuing to put down a school and community is a bit much. PNG ... Honor, Pride, Tradition.......

Jackhammer, since you are not from PNG, why does it matter to you anyway? For days now, I see nothing but "HATE" from you for PNG. What gives? Man, give it up......you're not from PNG, its not going to affect you anyway. Enough is enough. >
