  1. No, As long as the coach is a proven winner that can rally the kids and the community, uphold the traditions of PN-G, and teach the kids to become better young men, then I could care less where he is from. I agree 100% with akifan94. I think its important that a coach not only teach these young men to win games, but also, to help equip them with life skills to win in the "game of life".
  2. Back to the issue at hand. I think keeping the list of applicants secret is a good idea. If the list were revealed, as was stated, it could endanger a coaches position at his present school. I think the PNG school board is doing the right thing and we, the fans and spectators, will have to wait for the end result. No matter who the new head coach is, there are going to be pros and cons about the guy. PNG.....Honor, Pride, Tradition....!
  3. I would think the the quality of education, i.e. TAKS results, academic standing, etc. would be the driving force in deciding if I want to send my child to a particular school, not the attitude of fans or the record of a particular sports team.
  4. Some of these posts are just plain ridiculous! But, I guess we ALL have our VARIED opinions, thats why we have a forum, right? What it all boils down to, is, we as fans, have to accept what is given to us, whether good or bad. One thing for sure, is that EACH of us are here to support those young men that go out every Friday night, dress out with helmets and pads, and play their hearts out for our enjoyment. Man, I can't wait for high school football to get here again!
  5. The school board has control of this situation. They set the standard and the rest of us will have to live with their decision. We, the people, voted and put these folks in their positions, and with that vote, we placed our trust and confidence in them. They will decide and with their decision, we will have to accept. All the complaining, belly-aching, insults, whatever makes no difference: the buck stops with the board.
  6. Rumor has it that there are 13 names on the list, NONE from Southeast Texas. ???
  7. And the drama continues..... : Sure hope the list is released today...will be good to see who is in consideration to be the new "Chief" at The Reservation!
  8. PNG.....had a good pre-season and thought we were going to make a run, but didn't. There's always next year! ;D Still bleed purple and back my Indians...win or lose! ;D
  9. LOL! Good one! However, I don't think Wade has his masters, so he doesn't qualify! UGH! This masters thing!!! ???
  10. I agree, Skipper.
  11. Enjoy life more everyday.
  12. Central and their ability amazed me last year, especially in the playoffs. With this new QB, hear he can run and you can bet he will have the training putting the spin on the ball and connecting with his receivers. I NEVER underestimate Central....I honestly feel they will be first in district. This years team set the precident for next year....Central had a taste of victory and I only see a bright and better future for the Jags.
  13. Central Vidor Lumberton Livingston/Nederland Will have to wait and see what happens at the Reservation for PNG. A lot can happen between now and next year.
  14. We are at the mercy of the "powers that be" in this one, as a PNG fan. I just hope we get a good coach that will work hard and instill in these young men that play every Friday night, good concepts that will give them success, not only on the field, but also that they can carry with them the rest of thier lives.
  15. I thought the article was supposed to be about PAISD not requiring a Masters degree for the Memorial coach. I think West used this as an excuse to slam PNG. I swear, it's beginning to be hard to tell the difference between Bob West and Tom Halliburton..."birds of a feather, flock together!" geesh! : : :
  16. Do you know who the applicants are? You have a reliable source giving you this info? I haven't heard a word, but would like to know who's applied to date.
  17. I guess you're right in that money evidently rules. The PNG/Nederland rivalry (Mid County Madness) has been going on for decades, but very little TV exposure. It would be nice to hear some of the area teams be mentioned and some video shown. Guess you got to have the money and know the right people in the HIGH places...hmmmm ???.
  18. Man, sorry to hear this. Sometimes I can't believe what people will do! Hope everything turns out ok.
  19. Agree. You see a lot of Indian fans supporting area teams in the playoffs. HONOR, PRIDE, TRADITION is what PNG is all about!
  20. Thanks for allowing us to have a little fun with our comments and thoughts! This is the BEST site around!
  21. No hurricanes next year....none! Just too much to have to deal with!
  22. NEVER undestimate the Jags! Best of luck to you next year! You made ALL of us proud this year. Keep up the good work!
  23. Hey Purple, GREAT video! Still proud of those Broncos. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family! Warrior
