I meant Arlington.

This thread is very interesting. The talk about coaching and the qb is crazy. Teams get better as the year progresses. Heck in 2016 Carthage wasn't very good until something clicked after we eeked by Silsbee. 16-0 isn't the only way you can win state. I'm from Carthage and I seem have more confidence than some of you WO-S fans. Yall lost to a phenomenal team. Learn from it and try to get back to AT&T. Funny how some of you had full confidence in the staff during the winning streak but not enough confidence that they can coach a team not as talented back to Austin.

Just seems like everyone is overreacting the purpose of a scrimmage is to find your weaknesses. -

This is hilarious. It's just a scrimmage. God forbid they lose a preseason game. Out of all Carthage's state title teams only two were undefeated and a couple of the teams looked really bad in scrimmages and preseason. WOS will be fine. If they played week 10 they'd probably bust the scoreboard on them. Your coaches get paid to coach and make adjustments. All of you who are freaking out shows a lack of confidence in the coaches (assuming it's WOS fans freaking out) -
I agree for the most part with the exception of district titles. I couldn't care less about those either.

Parent files civil lawsuit against Carthage

The video was seen in the Fall of 2016. Carthage has been covering up crap like this for years. At the time it wasn't about football, it was protecting the district. -

There is definitely more to life than football but I'm just talking facts. People keep talking about football cover up and the kids wasn't even a varsity Qb. Like I said before, all parties need to be punished. -

None I know of at the moment. i have a feeling Caps will not be our QB next year. That's just a personal opinion. -

Heard some debate team members viewed it too, let's get rid of that also. Coach needs to be locked up and parents need to punished by the law. -

This was in the fall of 2016 when the video was shared. I was taken during April of 2016. Kid wasn't even on Varsity and wasn't even the frontrunner for being QB the next season. Please leave football out of this. -

At the time of the incident, it had nothing to do with football. Kid was on JV and no one was sold on him being QB. The family is saying that the school did not do enough to stop the video from distributing but I honestly don't know how that could have been done. All in all, my money is that he won't be the QB in Carthage next season. -
My point was it's more about the coaching staff.
-
I'm just curious did they bring their own people. It happens
-
The OP is missing an important point. Surratt is the GOAT of east texas, but a lot had to do with his staff. I'm curious about the teams that kept winning after their coach left. I wonder the the majority of the staff stay. With that being said, if Surratt and his staff leaves Carthage, bye bye state titles.

Texarkana Pleasant Grove 41 West Orange-Stark 21/FINAL

I wouldn't say a furious comeback but they'll be in the mix. I think the semis are definitely a given. -

Who didn't expect them to go to state? I sure did! Like i said in the preseason, WO-S is like Carthage now. They will have some exceptional teams and go deep. If they just have a good team, it just means that their with the rest of the pack and still have a good shot. At the end of the day, Pleasant Grove got a state title but WO-s will be right in the thick of it again. -

Very well said. -
I hope you're right. We have a tough rivalry game and a tough Lavega team.

Carthage is stacked for the next few years. Carthage will be contenders for a while
-
There are teams in the past (Stephenville, Henderson) who won state their first year after moving down. I know very little about Lumberton. Is there a chance of that happening with this team?
-
Heck did you look at that schedule? They almost scored 500 points alone on historically horrible Houston teams. I do believe they put their back ups in but with the schedule Carthage plays year in and year out, their backups could never put those numbers up against state contenders.
-
There you go with these numbers again. Carthage had plenty of chances to break a lot of the scoring and yardage records. I remember back in 2008 Dwight Smith only had 4 carries in the game and all were TD's and Suratt took him out. This dawg offense is special. Navasota 2012 was good but like another poster stated, you have to take in account the VERY weak schedule they had. Carthage has a top 5 schedule year in and year out. I just think it's pointless to use these skewed stats b/c Carthage rarely plays their starters a full game. One more thing, of course LH will have records rushing, that's all they've done for the past 10 years. Don't understand why you are discrediting this Carthage offense.

In class 4a?

I was talking to some people from Carthage and apparently there were Silsbee players talking smack to the Carthage fans during the Hargrove game. From what I hear that's what got the bulldogs so pumped.

Back in 2008 we were ahead of Tatum 63-14 at the half. Their two tds came from kickoff returns.
