  1. If you were referring to my post I was not being defensive. You are right in that the Porter crowd seemed a lot louder. From my view I did see some open seats on their side but could not tell from where I was sitting that the NC side had that many. You could be right I just know it seemed crowded around me. Both teams played hard, no doubt. Hope you enjoyed the game and the atmosphere that was on display last night.
  2. Both sides actually sold out. So not sure where you got that NC was underwhelming. The Porter band plays loud while NC on offense. NC normally does pass more. Looked to me like the coaching plan worked. Run the ball, control the clock, keep the Spartan offense off the field.
  3. I agree, Crosby has a more balanced offense than Porter. NC basically took Carney out of the game by double teaming him with a linebacker. Crosby's ability to run will keep that from happening. Both defenses will have to play honest as both teams can run and throw. Hope it's as good a game as last year and both teams are healthy afterwards for the playoffs.
  4. Looks like Porter had a total of 69 yards of offense for the game. Only 1 first down in first half that came on a penalty. Allison had over 160 rushing yards.
  5. Have to see what the stats eventually show but Carney did not catch a pass for any yardage. I think we held them to around 100 yards of total offense.
  6. TD NC 28-7 1:39 left
  7. 21-7 NC 6:52 left
  8. End of three 13-7
  9. TD Porter 13-7 7:23 in third
  10. Still half time. See what kind of adjustment the teams make. I don't keep stats but would say Porter has less than 50 yards in first half.
  11. Halftime still 13-0
  12. TD NC failed XP 13-0 with 1 minute in first.
  13. TD NC 7-0 with 6:50 in first.
  14. I see great character there. Congrats to this young man, it would seem he is certainly being raised by some great parents.
  15. Heard this evening the New Caney side is sold out.
  16. I have watched both play at least twice. Look for NC QB Cooper, RB Allison, and WR Aiken to be the main playmakers for them. Look for Porter QB Hall and WR Carney to be the main playmakers for them. Both teams have experienced coaching. I have not seen Porter special teams much other than kick off coverage. They don't kick many field goals. New Caney's punt teams have not had any bad miscues since the Tomball memorial loss where they snapped it over the punters head twice giving up posession in the red zone. NC defensive line has been able to put pressure on the other teams passing game, and they lead the district in interceptions on the one sight I have seen those stats. Porter will need to be able to run the ball effectively to open up their passing game or NC will double Carney. The other SR WR for Porter is not eligible this week. Overall, this lines up on paper as being a very high scoring game. I also expect more fans to be in attendance than either has played in front of this far this season. Once again emotional penalties and turnovers could be the deciding factor.
  17. You only have 10, should anyone respond to you? Dang, guess I did......
  18. The teams they have faced thus far are 18-39. I was correct Crosby is the only team with a winning record they have beat. While I am also proud of our district mates on the great season they have put together, we need to look at it from a realistic standpoint. The game Friday night with New Caney will certainly be a big game for Porter as they have never beaten New Caney. I am sure they will be up for it as they try to make this a in district rivalry. They have some good kids over there and the coaching has them believing. I still think NC will put up 40 and Porter will be held to around 28.
  19. Come on man, really? I believe they have only beat 1 team with a winning record.
