Just so we’re clear, I did not stay at a holiday inn express last night, and I don’t know much about high school football these days. 😬 -

I know it’s making me feel even better about HF’s offense, but a whole lot worse about their defense 😀😀 -

Wasn’t expecting a low scoring game based on what these two have done so far this season. Would love to see Hitchcock surprise me and win this one -

nothing against bellville. Hamshire-Fannett just played Hitchcock and the result wasn't great. IF Hitchcock beats Bellville or plays them close, that makes me feel a lot better about HF's prospects moving forward, and for that reason alone I hope that I'm wrong. AAW has always accused me of playing the "what if" game, and I won't do it here. I'll simply state that with all things considered, I think HF and Hitchcock are fairly comparable teams, despite their heads-up result, and would love to see Hitchcock perform well against a team like Bellville. -

I can see that being an issue, but they also seem to be the type of team where they plug in new players, rinse, and repeat. As long as there isn't a massive dropoff from last year talent-wise then i stand by my statement. They've played bad opponents the last two games, but a shutout is always fairly impressive. two in a row even more so. -

here's the deal for me: hitchcock is really good. super fast, athletic, talented. that being said, I think Hitchcock compares well to HF, Silsbee, Jasper, and WOS, and would compete for 1st or 2nd in our district (I know they beat HF, but I think those two teams are fairly even). That's an impressive thing to be able to say about a 3A school. but Bellville is GOOD. they proved me wrong last year. and they went through our district like we were scrubs. Beat WOS 49-7. Beat Silsbee 61-7. Beat Jasper 35-7. Unless Bellville dropped off a whole lot from last year I just don't see this being a close game. I don't expect 61-7, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Bellville wins by 25-30 points. And I'll be happy to come on here and admit if I'm wrong. In fact, I hope I'm wrong. -
don't really know about 538 per se, but that's probably a fair evaluation of a lot of them. "this poll of 13 voters in inner city harlem shows that 88% of New York supports Kamala Harris!"
-
for what it's worth, they gave Trump the best odds out of anyone in 16. and they gave Biden an 89% last election.

They have a lot of talent all over the field. Bellville is deeper, though, and their offense is gonna give anyone fits. -

HF's QB had an awful game against Hitchcock and went 19/30 for 351 and 5 TDs. He just had 4 INTs as well. Last week against Vidor he was 23/25 for for 544 and 6 TDs. HF throws the ball a lot, but they're pretty good on the ground. -
Fixed it for you, Birryjohn

LCM is considerably better. I'll take them 35-20.

curious to see what happens in this one. Hitchcock put up 70 on HF, but HF gifted them three defensive touchdowns. Hitchcock played better than HF, but the horns still put up a ton of points and moved the ball all night. HF just shot themselves in the foot over and over. Without a doubt Hitchcock has a fantastic offensive team, but their defense allows a lot of big plays and a lot of yardage. Hamshire-Fannett's defense is a weakness this year. For Bellville it will not be. Bellville's defense is far superior to HF, and their offense is at least on the same level, if not better as well (comparing the two offenses is apples to oranges). I think Bellville takes this one by more than people expect. I'll say 45-21. And I wish HF and Hitchcock could play again. I think the Horns would have a good shot at beating them, and if Bellville is anything close to what they were last year, they're a good deal better than HF. -

it's not an invasion when the president is not only allowing, but encouraging them to come in. Although I guess technically now the current administration is being tough(ish) on the border since the election is coming up. -

I'll give him your first point: he generally takes criticism and back and forth with a decent attitude. You can argue with him on one thing, and if you make a good point on something else, he'll still agree with you. That's something I try to do as well. There are certain people on the site that get mad about something you post and simply disagree with everything you say from that point forward, or use whatever they disagree with to bludgeon you over the head every time you try to make a point. It's pretty dumb. I often disagree with his posts, and don't care for his sources or the frequency with which he posts from them, but I don't see him go after people personally, which i respect. There's people I feel like I could sit and talk politics with, and people I can't. I think if I sat down and talked politics with Reagan I might want to beat my head on the wall a little bit, but I'm pretty certain we would end the conversation as cordially as it began. I can't say that for everyone in this forum. as to your second point, what % is a lot? If he posts 5 articles a day, and 80% of what he posts is true, that means he's posting 1 false article everyday. personally, i think 80% is high, and at least half of what he posts is false, or has some basic truth with a lot of false spin to it. Because of that I do often resort to your last statement... it is generally much easier to disregard it than to look into it. -

ever notice how these types of threads don't get any comments? If Kamala had said it we'd be on page 11 of comments by now. -
Texas high school football team now on its third head coach - in the same week (si.com) 1. "mutually parted ways" with head coach last monday after two games. 2. Promoted an assistant coach to interim head coach. He stepped down two days later. 3. Superintendent coached this past friday to keep them from forfeiting. 4. Today they promoted the head baseball coach to head football coach.

Thankyou

Was a fun day watching the Texas and Aggie backups tear it up. Manning had a couple of drives towards the end of the 2nd quarter where he looked like he was going to show some nerves, then he blew the doors off the game in the second half.

Yup. He scored his first career touchdown for the ags last week. One career rush, 65 yds and a touchdown 😀 -
Palestine Westwood (63) @ Timpson (34) - FINAL
bullets13 replied to jdawg03's topic in High School Football
I knew they’d lost a lot, but when they beat Lovelady last week I figured they’re still going to be really solid this year. I wasn’t surprised that Westwood beat them, but was surprised they dropped 63 on them and beat them by 30. One of my bosses graduated from Timpson, so I follow them a little bit.
