ONLY reason I would not mind seeing Texas win it all is bc of Hamilton and N Ryan. CLASS
i'm not just saying this because they're my team:  this team is full of class.  no steroid controversies, no jerks, just a bunch of hardworking baseball players who say and do all of the right things.
2. Beechnut, you're right, the Yankees are not the Rays.  They're not as good, and the Rangers matchup better against them.  If the Rangers pitch as well as they did against the Rays, the Yankees will have trouble manufacturing runs like the Rays were capable of doing.  Still, they ARE the yankees.  I'm calling this series a tossup:  I expect it to go at least 6 games, maybe 7.  Also, wondering what y'all think about this:  I'm actually glad the rangers had to face an elimination game against the Rays.  Sure, had they swept, confidence would have been sky-high, but now the rangers have had a gut-check, and they've passed it.  I think it will be valuable experience for them as they go up against the Yankees, who are sure to provide them with plenty more gut-checks.  Had they not had any problems with the Rays, we'd have to worry about how the young Ranger players would handle adversity when they have a tough game against the yanks.  Now they have the experience and confidence to know they're capable of pulling out a win when their backs are against the wall.

4. let's assume dad is dirt poor.  now let's assume LaceDarius is about to be a millionaire.  now let's try to figure out why dad might not make too big of a deal about Lacey beating up on his daughter a bit.
5. i gotta go with my homer pick and take the rangers.  rangers in 7, with cliff lee clinching again.

7. the beautiful thing is they have a core group of players set up to do this again for the next few years, and if they re-sign lee and vlad, they've got to be favorites to do so.
8.
Lee        Pitches 120     Strikes 89
Ks 11  New man crushes: millions
9. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!
10. Pena grounds out.  1 out left!
11. 11 Ks tonight, 21 for the series
12. strikes out longoria.  2 outs left.
13. Lee back for the ninth.
14. 2-run homer in the top of the 9th by kinsler!!!! big insurance runs!  rangers up 5-1!!!!
15. there's that quick inning!  something like 10 pitches... we might see him to at least start the 9th.  the way he's pitching, and as shaky as the bullpen has been, i sure as heck hope they leave him in!
16. kinda cheap that Lee is pitching at a fast pace, but still rays batters have called time while he was starting his windup about 6 or 7 times tonight.
17.

Keep me updated.  I just got told it's movie night.   ::)
I did that after the Cowboy game.
Can Lee throw complete game? He's at 100 pitch now.
up to the coach.  if he gets a quick 8th, maybe, but i'd expect to see CJ or O'day for the ninth.
18. Lee up to 9 strikeouts through 7.  gives up a leadoff hit to Upton, but strands him on 2nd.
19. Rangers get a big run in the top of the 6th in almost exactly the same way as they got their first!  running from 2nd, he never stopped, and when price took a half-second to question a safe call at first base, vlad was on his way home.  he beat the tag at home by a hair.
20.
Lee is throwing darts now...
i'm pretty sure he threw strike 3 twice against bartlett before the double last inning.  i'm glad it didn't come back to hurt him.
21.
Thats a triple if Cruz is running, but he makes up for it by stealing 3rd and scoring on a bad throw. 2-1 Rangers
getting on here to say the same thing... looks like they're starting to get to price.  nellie smashed that ball, and then kinsler with a nice opp. field hit, and francoer absolutely crushed two foul balls in his at bat.
22. lee gets out of the jam... he was pretty unlucky.  a 12 foot dinker and a self-defense flare to center lead to a run.
23. if the ump keeps giving Price the inside, tit-high strike call, the rangers might not score another run.
24. rangers take a 1-0 lead in the first on some great baserunning by elvis andrus.  singles, steals second.  he takes off for third on a hit and run, hamilton grounds out to first, but because the 1st baseman had to toss to the pitcher, who had his back to andrus, he scored all the way from second on a groundout!
