Gary Johnson is taking terrible shots for the Horns, and they've been slow on defense.  The good news is that the Horns have back against the Gayhawks before.

Texas is down 16 to Kansas.  Texas has looked bad, but they sure aren't getting any help from the refs.  The Morris twins are raping anyone who gets near the paint with no call, but Tristan Thomas is on the bench for Texas with two ticky tack fouls.  I might also add that the Morris twins appear to be a couple of douchebags, just judging by their actions before and during the game.

I feel like making the Big 12 finals with another win against aTm has most likely locked up a #2 seed for the horns and has guaranteed them at least a #3, regardless of what happens tonight.  However, if they beat KU again, they might have an outside chance at a #1 seed.  Pitt is a lock, and Ohio St is a lock.  If Duke wins the ACC they're a lock.  That leaves UT against Kansas (who they would have beaten twice), Notre Dame, Purdue, and whoever wins against BYU and SDSU for the final spot, again all this only the scenario that UT beats KU tonight.  My gut still says that ND is going to get the 4th spot, unless UNC beats Duke, then they might get it.  Lots of different scenarios.  I know many basketball people give Texas credit for their quality wins and the difficulty of their schedule, so that could play a factor.

I watched the tape, and I'd say between the clock being started late and the shot being let go after the buzzer that they might have gained a full second on that play.  For him to catch the pass running towards the sideline, either take a couple of dribbles or many steps (couldn't tell from the tape) and then pass to a teammate who then took a step-back 3 with a fully extended jumpshot (and with a VERY slow release), i'd think it'd take well over 3 seconds to accomplish that. 

Texas hasn't been playing all that well lately, but have won a couple in a row.  I'd like to see them pound the Ags and get back on a roll again.

dang, that sucks.  still, they were up 8 with a couple of minutes to play and couldn't put it away.  they should have never given the refs a chance to screw them.

congrats to the hawks on another great season after so many said they were going to have a "down year".  a 5th regional tourney in 5 years is a pretty dang good down year.  

66-60 is the final.  great comeback by the hawks to take the lead after trailing by 19 in the second half.

Mexia sealed it up in the end with their FTs.  66-60, 4 seconds left.
