Incredible News for Texas for Next Year!
bullets13 replied to bullets13's topic in SETXsports Archived Threads
if they have Joseph, Hamilton, Brown, and Thomas come back, plus a recruiting class including a PG grading out at 98, two shooting guards grading out at 95 and 94, and a power forward grading out at 95, i like their chances. -
thoughts?
-
Reports are Tristan Thompson AND Jordan Hamilton will not enter the draft, but will return next year. Can you say favorites for the national championship?
-
only put 8 total in the boat. i caught two, one of which was a pretty nice 3-pounder.
-
i suck. again.
-
if they can make free throws they'll be fine. so far they've shot almost 80% from the charity stripe!
the three games tonight are going to separate the bracket standings a lot. UCLA/Michigan St., Mizzou/Cincy and Gonzaga/St. John's are all games where either pick is probably a decent one.
i'm going in the wrong direction, though, with all three of my picks trailing by double digits at the end of the half.
-
I'm 11/12 and 10/12 in my two brackets, but I picked Michigan St. in both. Not going to hurt me beyond the first round, but I'd still like to see them pull off a big comeback.
What about Utah St./ K-State?
I'd say Utah St has an outside chance, but the three games i mentioned before are games that are probably fairly evenly split on picks in our brackets. i'd assume that the vast majority of folks out there picked K-state, so if they lose, it's going to hurt just about everyone (like louisville)

Jimmer is VERY, VERY good, but he gets away with more travels, carries, and draws more bad foul calls than any player i've seen all year, and i've watched A LOT of basketball.
-
Two brackets, in both i picked Richmond to upset. Gotta feel good about that. Moorehead hurt me a bit, but i only picked them to go to the sweet 16, so it shouldn't hurt too bad.

I'm going to Lake Fork next Saturday. A buddy of mine went out in pretty windy conditions and managed to catch 9 fish last weekend, so I have high hopes.
Texas lost 4 out of the last 7 games thats what hurt them and the reason why they got a 4 seed, A&M is about right though they got blown out in 3 games against Texas, and they lost to Baylor twice and BC from the acc and also lost to Nebraska, same thing for Mizz they lost 4 out last 7 games and the last 5 games they have lost 4 out of 5 but mizz should have been around a 9 and for as colorado they did get snubbed, but what killed them was there out of conference SOS was like 245 in the nation!!!! The committee always talks about the WHOLE BODY OF WORK and I guess the non-conf schedule killed them but no doubt I believe Colorado beats VCU and UAB!!! I mean what about Harvard they got screwed too
i see where you're coming from with Texas, but they had as many good wins as anyone in the country, and they made their conference championship game, losing to the #2 team in the country. I hate how the committee uses current form in some cases to justify seeding, and then ignores it in other situations.
-
The Big XII as a whole got shafted. Texas as a #4, aTm as a #7, Mizzou as a #11, and Colorado getting snubbed? What a joke.
-
I'm signed up... a lot of difficult picks to make this year.
-
I was listening to Doug Gottlieb on the way to work, and he used the term "eviscerated" when referring to how the Big 12 was treated on Selection Sunday. He said that Texas deserved a #2, but then went ahead and picked them to advance to the final 4 anyway :)
-
Texas a 4?! Wow!
They got hosed. They were saying they were a #1 seed if they beat Kansas when they were talking last night. I would've been okay with a #3 because of their recent form, but their overall body of work deserves a #2.
-
Anybody notice the last couple of games that Balbay's only been playing a few minutes a game?
-
yup. Texas gonna lose this one. I thought they showed a lot more heart and had a better effort in the 2nd half. I'm guessing a 2 seed for Texas, but wouldn't be shocked with a 3.
-
quick response from Kansas. I though J'Covan got fouled there... no call, but he got hurt.
-
with 8 to go the horns have rallied to cut it to 8.
BS call on Thompson .......he clearly dunked on him. period
I was getting on here to say that the officials had been evening things out, until Thomas picked up that bogus foul. the putback would've cut the lead to 10, instead stayed at 12 and he's off the court with 4 fouls.
-
Horns look bad, down 15 at the half. Of course, we've seen this show before. Hopefully they can find a way to bounce back again.
