  1. That's a shame.  Not only for his team which loses it's titles for cheating, but also all of the teams they cheated along the way to get that far.
  2. I was the same way. I rooted for the ags in every game but one. Then they moved to the SEC, and many of the fans became intolerable, and now I can't help but cheer against them.
  3. That just about did it.
  4. for that kind of money they better hope he is. he's definitely improved, but I don't know that I've seen anything at this point saying he's worth THAT much money.
  5. From what I've seen the father makes the choice much more often than the mother, either by pressuring her to do so or abandoning her when she gets pregnant and putting her in a no-win situation
  6. I'd be okay with them doing so if they can get some minor players. But all of these people who stole millions of dollars from the taxpayers and students of their district NEED to spend years in jail.
  7. To be fair, if he was a dem YOU would give a crap what he says...
  8. If I'm put in a situation where I need to shoot someone, I'll take MORE lethal. I don't want to shoot some guy doped up on lsd four or five times in the chest with a "less lethal device" and have him still get to me with whatever weapon he has.
  9. Had to win that one.
  10. it might be that after years of being able to get away with whatever he wanted, he was arrogant enough to think that he could continue to do so with nothing sticking to him. that being said, so far, everything has been bouncing off.
  11. of course, this is assuming this isn't another justifiable act being fluffed up for racial reasons by the media.
  12. what really galls me is that we used to have to go to pep rallies at the beginning of every school year, and Doc Thomas would sit up there and make all of these questionable hires and pat himself on the back for doing so. Naomi Lawrence Lee was one. Lawrence-Lee previously worked for Jefferson County as its purchasing agent, but resigned in exchange for a promise from the District Attorney's office not to prosecute her in connection with misappropriation of county property for private benefit. Dr. Thomas passed over better applicants to hire her, and talked about how great she would be for the district. Bear in mind, this is just a few months after resigning from the county to avoid criminal charges. Now if we fast forward a few years, and Naomi Lawrence-Lee is under indictment for felony theft against BISD. Another was Patricia Lambert. Later we find out that she possessed a criminal record for extorting public funds from teachers in the New Orleans school district, unearthed accusations that she leads a massive campaign of both cheating and retaliation against her accusers. Then the accusations started here. Now of course, she's indicted for felony theft. And of course Calvin Walker. That whole situation was a joke, and to see the arrogance with which Butch and the board would renew his contract every year, after he'd already stolen millions from us, smirking while they did it... and now of course, he's indicted for felony theft, amongst other things. If the 7 or 8 employees that have been arrested so far are all that are indicted, so be it. you're talking about putting people in jail responsible for $10M or more (that they've found so far) in thefts from BISD. You're also changing a culture of corruption back to a culture of consequences. No longer will employees steal and scam without fear of reprisals. No doubt there will be some employees who stole who will slip through the cracks, but hopefully the DA will be able to find more of them. But if not, it's much more important to be in place to prevent future thefts than to punish past ones in which we'll likely receive no compensation.
  13. what new politician doesn't promise more than he can actually deliver? that being said, the 6 or 7 indicted so far is a good start. hopefully their evidence is as strong on these cases as it has been on the last couple.
  14. two cops beat a man running from the cops excessively? sounds like the story was about three thugs, not two.
  15. When gas speculation uses things like strikes, natural disasters, wars in other countries, terrorist attacks, economy, etc. to try and guess the availability of oil in the future, prices are often driven up needlessly. Because oil MAY become tougher to come by due to this strike, we're paying an extra $0.30 a gallon NOW. Of course, if the strike doesn't play out, it will take much longer than 3 days for the price of gas to drop, if it even does.
  16. From what I hear there are a lot of burglaries going on in and around HF right now. I'm keeping doors locked, and pistols cocked and locked just in case.
  17. to go where? I'm not saying nobody wants them, but I AM saying nobody wants them very much.
  18. you mean those folks that hadn't been forced by their government to get vaccinations?
  19. So THAT'S why JFF did so bad. He was too busy playing on his phone in the huddle... ;)
  20. [Hidden Content] He got liquored up and wrecked into some parked cars, then had his girlfriend take the fall for him. Remember when he was one of the most respected athletes ever?
  21. I'm not completely against welfare like some on here, but it's really hard to get behind helping someone who's brought that many children into the world without the means to take care of even one of them.
  22. Why is his QBR that's exactly one point higher than Rodgers' a big deal?  I'd say the extra touchdowns are more important that beating someone 113.2 to 112.2 in QBR. 4 more touchdowns, 4 less interceptions.  700 more yards passing. He also rushed for 269 yards, two TDs, and TWENTY first downs.  I'd say that's a pretty significant aspect of his game that he has a giant advantage over Romo in.  Look, I would've loved to have seen Romo win this thing, but your argument is silly.   You're saying that 700 extra passing yards, 4 extra TDs, and 4 less INTS (not to mention the rushing stats I brought up) are outweighed by Romo having a higher YPA and higher QBR, and higher completion percentage.  I'll buy that the completion percentage is a win for Romo (by 4.3%, a noteworthy amount), but QBR is irrelevant when you're separated by only a point (and 10 points higher than anyone else), and I'm not putting any stock at all into Romo averaging 0.09 more yards an attempt that Rodgers.
  23. I was doing really good at rehab until johnny threw a party. At rehab. -Josh Gordon
  24. Maybe he was trying to keep Lynch from grabbing his crotch in celebration after scoring a game winning TD?
